1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;	1 Il re Salomone amò, oltre la figlia del faraone, molte donne straniere, moabite, ammonite, idumee, sidonie, hittite,
2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.	2 dei popoli di cui il Signore aveva detto ai figli d'Israele: "Voi non andrete da loro né essi verranno da voi, altrimenti piegheranno il vostro cuore verso i loro dèi". Invece Salomone si legò ad esse per amore.
3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.	3 Egli ebbe settecento principesse per mogli e trecento concubine.
4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.	4 Quando Salomone fu vecchio, le sue donne gli sviarono il cuore dietro le divinità straniere e il suo cuore non fu più tutto del Signore suo Dio, com'era stato il cuore di Davide suo padre.
5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.	5 Salomone seguì Astarte, dea dei Sidoni, e Milcom, obbrobrio degli Ammoniti.
6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.	6 Egli fece ciò che è male agli occhi del Signore e non rimase fedele al Signore come Davide suo padre.
7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.	7 E' allora che Salomone costruì sul monte di fronte a Gerusalemme un'altura per Camos, obbrobrio di Moab, e per Milcom, obbrobrio degli Ammoniti.
8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.	8 Così fece per tutte le mogli straniere le quali bruciavano aromi e offrivano sacrifici alle loro divinità.
9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,	9 Ma il Signore s'adirò contro Salomone, perché aveva alienato il suo cuore dal Signore, Dio d'Israele, che gli era apparso due volte,
10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.	10 e gli aveva imposto proprio questo comando di non andare dietro alle divinità straniere; ma egli non osservò il comando del Signore.
11 Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.	11 Perciò il Signore disse a Salomone: "Poiché ti sei comportato così e non hai osservato la mia alleanza e gli statuti che ti avevo imposto, ti strapperò il regno e lo darò al tuo servo.
12 Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.	12 Tuttavia, in considerazione di Davide tuo padre, non lo farò durante la tua vita, ma lo strapperò dalla mano di tuo figlio.
13 Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.	13 Inoltre non strapperò tutto il regno, ma darò a tuo figlio una tribù, in considerazione di Davide mio servo e di Gerusalemme che ho scelto".
14 And the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom.	14 Il Signore suscitò un avversario a Salomone, l'idumeo Adàd, della stirpe reale d'Edom.
15 For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom;	15 Dopo che Davide ebbe battuto Edom, Ioab, capo dell'esercito, salito per seppellire i morti, uccise tutti i maschi d'Edom.
16 (For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom:)	16 Ioab infatti e tutto Israele erano rimasti là per sei mesi, finché non ebbero sterminato ogni maschio in Edom.
17 That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.	17 Adàd però riuscì a fuggire in Egitto con alcuni Idumei, servi di suo padre; egli era allora un giovanetto.
18 And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.	18 Partirono da Madian e giunsero a Paran; presero con sé uomini di Paran e andarono in Egitto presso il faraone, re d'Egitto, il quale diede ad Adàd una casa, gli assicurò il sostentamento e gli diede anche un terreno.
19 And Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.	19 Adàd trovò grande favore presso il faraone, il quale gli diede in moglie la sorella di sua moglie, la sorella della regina Tafni.
20 And the sister of Tahpenes bare him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh's household among the sons of Pharaoh.	20 La sorella di Tafni gli partorì il figlio Ghenubàt che Tafni allevò nella casa del faraone. Ghenubàt rimase nella casa del faraone tra i figli del faraone.
21 And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country.	21 Quando Adàd apprese in Egitto che Davide si era addormentato con i suoi padri e che era morto Ioab, capo dell'esercito, disse al faraone: "Lasciami partire, perché vada nella mia terra!".
22 Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country? And he answered, Nothing: howbeit let me go in any wise.	22 Il faraone gli rispose: "Che cosa ti manca presso di me, perché cerchi di andartene nella tua terra?". Quegli riprese: "Nulla, ma lasciami andare".
23 And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:	23 Dio suscitò contro Salomone un altro avversario, Razòn, figlio di Eliada, che era fuggito da Adad-E'zer, re di Zoba, suo signore.
24 And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus.	24 Alcuni uomini si raccolsero presso di lui ed egli divenne capobanda, quando Davide li massacrò. Razòn si recò a Damasco, vi si stabilì e ne divenne re.
25 And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.	25 aEgli fu avversario d'Israele per tutta la vita di Salomone.
26 And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon's servant, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow woman, even he lifted up his hand against the king.	26 Anche Geroboamo, figlio dell'efraimita Nebàt, di Zereda -- il nome di sua madre era Zerùa, una vedova --, mentre era al servizio di Salomone, si rivoltò contro il re.
27 And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.	27 Questo è il motivo per cui si rivoltò contro il re. Salomone, nel costruire il Millo, stava colmando la breccia della città di Davide suo padre.
28 And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.	28 Questo Geroboamo era un uomo valente e gagliardo; Salomone vide come il giovane lavorava e lo pose a capo di tutto il reclutamento del casato di Giuseppe.
29 And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:	29 Or avvenne che Geroboamo, uscito da Gerusalemme, incontrò per strada il profeta Achia di Silo. Costui era coperto d'un mantello nuovo e solo loro due si trovavano nella campagna.
30 And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:	30 Allora Achia afferrò il mantello nuovo che indossava e lo strappò in dodici pezzi.
31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:	31 Poi disse a Geroboamo: "Prenditi dieci pezzi, perché così dice il Signore: "Ecco, strapperò il regno dalla mano di Salomone e darò a te dieci tribù.
32 (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)	32 A lui resterà una sola tribù in considerazione del mio servo Davide e di Gerusalemme, la città che ho scelto fra tutte le tribù d'Israele.
33 Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.	33 Questo perché egli mi ha abbandonato, si è prostrato davanti ad Astarte, dea dei Sidoni, a Camos, dio di Moab, e a Milcom, dio degli Ammoniti, e non ha camminato nelle mie vie, facendo ciò che è giusto ai miei occhi, i miei statuti e i miei decreti, come Davide suo padre.
34 Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:	34 A lui però non toglierò di mano il regno, perché l'ho costituito principe per tutto il tempo di sua vita, in considerazione di Davide mio servo, che ho scelto e che ha custodito i miei comandamenti e i miei statuti.
35 But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it unto thee, even ten tribes.	35 Toglierò invece il regno di mano a suo figlio e darò a te dieci tribù,
36 And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.	36 mentre a suo figlio conserverò solo una tribù, affinché rimanga in perpetuo una lampada per Davide mio servo davanti a me in Gerusalemme, la città che mi sono scelto per collocarvi il mio nome.
37 And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel.	37 Prenderò dunque te perché regni su tutto ciò che desideri e sarai re d'Israele.
38 And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.	38 Se tu ascolterai quanto ti comanderò e camminerai nelle mie vie e farai ciò che è giusto ai miei occhi, custodendo i miei statuti e i miei comandamenti come fece Davide mio servo, io sarò con te e ti edificherò una casa duratura come la edificai a Davide. Ti darò Israele
39 And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.	39 e in tal modo umilierò la discendenza di Davide, benché non per sempre".
40 Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, unto Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.	40 Salomone cercò di far morire Geroboamo, ma questi si levò e si rifugiò in Egitto presso Sisach, re d'Egitto, e vi rimase fino alla morte di Salomone.
41 And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?	41 Le altre gesta di Salomone, tutte le sue azioni e la sua sapienza non sono forse descritte nel libro degli Atti di Salomone?
42 And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.	42 Il tempo in cui Salomone regnò in Gerusalemme su tutto Israele fu di quarant'anni.
43 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.	43 Poi Salomone si addormentò con i suoi padri e fu sepolto nella Città di Davide, suo padre. Suo figlio Roboamo regnò al suo posto.
