1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.	1 Anche la regina di Saba, avendo udita la fama di Salomone, nel nome del Signore, andò a far prova di lui con enimmi.
2 And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.	2 Entrata in Gerusalemme con gran seguito e ricchezze e cammelli che portavano aromi e oro in quantità infinita, e gemme preziose, si presentò al re Salomone e gli disse tutto ciò che aveva in cuore.
3 And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not.	3 Salomone rispose a tutte le sue questioni, non ce ne fu una che non fosse ben conosciuta dal re e che restasse senza risposta.
4 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,	4 Quando la regina di Saba ebbe veduta tutta la sapienza di Salomone, la casa da lui edificata,
5 And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.	5 i cibi della sua mensa, gli appartamenti dei suoi servi, gli ordini e le vesti dei ministri, i coppieri, gli olocausti che egli offriva nella casa del Signore, resto senza fiato,
6 And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.	6 e disse al re: « E' dunque vero ciò che io avevo sentito dire nel mio paese,
7 Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.	7 dei tuoi ragionamenti e della tua sapienza. Io non credevo a chi me ne parlava, avanti che venissi a vedere coi miei propri occhi; ma ora riconosco che non mi avevan detto la metà: la tua sapienza, le tue opere sorpassano la fama che ne avevo udita.
8 Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.	8 Beata la tua gente e beati i tuoi servi, che stanno sempre dinanzi a te ad ascoltare la tua sapienza.
9 Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.	9 Sia benedetto il Signore Dio tuo che, essendosi in te compiaciuto, ti ha posto sul trono d'Israele; perchè il Signore ha amato Israele in eterno, ti ha costituito re, per rendere i giudizi e la giustizia ».
10 And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.	10 Essa poi diede al re Salomone centoventi talenti d'oro, gran quantità d'aromi, e gemme preziose: non furono mai più portati tanti aromi quanti ne diede la regina di Saba a Salomone.
11 And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones.	11 Anche la flotta d'Hiram, che portava oro da Ofir, portò da Ofir legname di tiino e gran quantità di gemme preziose.
12 And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day.	12 Il re col legno di tiino fece le balaustrate della casa del Signore e della casa reale, e cetre e lire pei cantori: non fu mai portato tal legname di tiino e non se n'è veduto più fino ad oggi.
13 And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants.	13 Il re Salomone diede alla regina di Saba tutto ciò che essa desiderò e chiese, oltre quello che egli le offerse con magnificenza da re. Ed essa se ne partì e tornò coi suoi servi nel suo paese.
14 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold.	14 Il peso dell'oro che ogni anno era portato a Salomone, era di seicento sessantasei talenti d'oro,
15 Beside that he had of the merchantmen, and of the traffick of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country.	15 senza contare quello che gli portavano i sopraintendenti ai tributi, i negozianti, tutti i venditori di cose preziose, tutti i re dell'Arabia e i governatori del paese.
16 And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target.	16 Il re Salomone fece inoltre duecento grandi scudi d'oro finissimo, impiegando seicento sicli d'oro per le lamine di ogni scudo;
17 And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.	17 e fece trecento piccoli scudi d'oro affinato: trecento mine d'oro rivestivano ogni scudo. Il re li pose nella casa del bosco del Libano.
18 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.	18 Il re Salomone fece inoltre un gran trono d'avorio, e lo rivestì d'oro giallissimo,
19 The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays.	19 il trono aveva sei gradini: la parte superiore era rotonda dalla parte di dietro; due bracci, uno di qua, uno di là, tenevano la sedia; due leoni stavano accanto all'uno e all'altro braccio;
20 And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.	20 dodici piccoli leoni stavano sopra i sei gradini da una parte e dall'altra: non fu mai fatto un tal lavoro in nessun regno.
21 And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.	21 Eran pure d'oro tutti i vasi in cui il re Salomone beveva, e d'oro finissimo tutto il vasellame della casa del bosco del Libano: non v'era argento, del quale non si faceva nessun conto al tempo di Salomone.
22 For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.	22 La flotta del re con quella di Hiram andava una volta ogni tre anni a Tarsis, donde riportava oro, argento, denti di elefanti, scimmie e pavoni.
23 So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.	23 Il re Salomone sorpassò adunque tutti i re della terra in ricchezza e in sapienza.
24 And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.	24 Tutta la terra desiderava di veder Salomone per udir la sua sapienza, che Dio aveva messa nel suo cuore.
25 And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.	25 Ciascuno gli portava ogni anno dei doni, dei vasi d'argento e di oro, delle vesti, delle armi da guerra, degli aromi, dei cavalli e dei muli.
26 And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.	26 Salomone radunò carri e soldati a cavallo: ebbe mille quattrocento carri e dodici mila uomini a cavallo che distribuì nelle città fortificate e presso al re in Gerusalemme.
27 And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore trees that are in the vale, for abundance.	27 Il re fece sì che a Gerusalemme l'argento fosse comune come le pietre e che i cedri fossero numerosi come i sicomori che crescono nelle pianure.
28 And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.	28 I cavalli venivano a Salomone dall'Egitto e da Coa: i negozianti del re li compravano a Coa, e per un prezzo fisso glieli menavano.
29 And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.	29 Una quadriga usciva dall'Egitto per seicento sicli d'argento, e un cavallo per centocinquanta. Nel medesimo modo tutti i re degli Etei e della Siria vendevano cavalli.
