1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.	1 Todas as tribos de Israel foram ter com Davide a Hebron, dizendo: Aqui nos tens, somos teus ossos e tua carne (porque descendemos todos de Jacob).
2 Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.	2 Ainda quando Saul era rei sobre nós, já eras tu o que conduzias e reconduzias Israel. Demais, o Senhor disse-te: Tu apascentarás o meu povo de Israel, serás condutor de Israel.
3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.	3 Foram também os anciães de Israel ter com o rei a Hebron, e ali o rei Davide fez aliança com eles diante do Senhor, e eles ungiram Davide rei sobre Israel.
4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.	4 Davide tinha trinta anos, quando começou a reinar, e reinou quarenta anos.
5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.	5 Reinou, em Hebron, sete anos e meio sobre Judá; trinta e três anos, em Jerusalém, sobre todo o Israel e sobre Judá.
6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.	6 O rei foi com toda a gente que tinha consigo a Jerusalém, contra os Jebuseus, que moravam, naquele território. Estes disseram a Davide: Não entrarás cá, sem que lances fora os cegos e os coxos, os quais estão dizendo: Davide não entrará aqui.
7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.	7 Porém Davide tomou a fortaleza de Sião, que é a cidade de Davide.
8 And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.	8 Naquele dia Davide disse: Todo o que ferir os Jêbuseus e atingir o alto da fortaleza e expulsar os cegos e os coxos, inimigos de Davide, (será chefe e príncipe). Por isso se diz em provérbio: Nem cego nem coxo entrarão no templo.
9 So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.	9 Davide habitou na fortaleza, e chamou-a cidade de Davide; levantou edifícios ao redor, desde Melo, e no interior.
10 And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.	10 Davide ia-se fortificando e crescendo mais e mais, e o Senhor Deus dos exércitos era com ele.
11 And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.	11 Hiram, rei de Tiro, enviou mensageiros a Davide, com madeira de cedro, assim como carpinteiros e canteiros que edificaram uma casa a Davide.
12 And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.	12 Davide reconheceu que o Senhor o tinha confirmado rei sobre Israel, e que exaltava o seu reino por amor do seu povo de Israel.
13 And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.	13 Davide tomou outras mulheres, de segunda e primeira ordem, de Jerusalém, depois que veio de Hebron, e teve delas filhos e filhas.
14 And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,	14 Estes são os nomes dos que lhe nasceram em Jerusalém: Samua, Sobab, Natan, Salomão,
15 Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,	15 Jebabar, Elisua, Nefeg,
16 And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.	16 Jafa, Elisama, Elioda e Elifalet.
17 But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.	17 Os Filisteus, ouvindo dizer que Davide tinha sido ungido rei sobre Israel, subiram todos em busca de Davide. Sabendo isto Davide, retirou-se a um lugar forte.
18 The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.	18 Os Filisteus fizeram uma incursão pelo vale dos Refains.
19 And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.	19 Davide consultou o Senhor, dizendo: Marcharei contra os Filisteus? Entregarmos-ás tu nas minhas mãos? O Senhor respondeu a Davide: Vai, que eu entregarei os Filisteus nas tuas mãos.
20 And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.	20 Foi, pois, Davide a Baal Farasim, onde os derrotou, e disse: O Senhor irrompeu sobre os meus inimigos à minha vista, como águas que irrompem sobre os diques, despedaçando-os. Por isso aquele lugar foi chamado Baal Farasim.
21 And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.	21 Os Filisteus deixaram lá os seus ídolos, os quais Davide e a sua gente levaram (para queimar).
22 And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.	22 Os Filisteus voltaram novamente e espalharam-se pelo vale dos Refains.
23 And when David inquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.	23 Davide consultou o Senhor: Irei eu contra os Filisteus, e entregá-los-ás nas minhas mãos? O Senhor respondeu-lhe: Não vás direto a eles, mas dá volta por detrás deles, e irás contra eles, do lado dos balsameiros.
24 And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.	24 Quando ouvires um rumor como de passos, entre as copas dos balsameiros, então travarás a batalha, porque o Senhor marchará então diante de ti, para ferir o acampamento dos Filisteus.
25 And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.	25 Fez, pois, Davide como o Senhor lhe tinha mandado, e derrotou os Filisteus desde Gabaa até chegar a Gezer.
