1 Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David inquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.	1 Houve também no tempo de Davide uma fome que durou três anos contínuos. Davide consultou o oráculo do Senhor, e o Senhor respondeu-lhe: (Isto aconteceu) por causa de Saul e da sua casa sanguinária, porque matou os Gabaonitas.
2 And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)	2 E, chamados os Gabaonitas, o rei falou com eles. (Deve notar-se que os Gabaonitas não eram filhos de Israel, mas uns restos dos Amorreus, aos quais os Israelitas tinham jurado (que não lhes tirariam a vida). Todavia Saul empreendeu extingui-los sob pretexto de zelo, como para bem dos filhos de Israel e de Judá).
3 Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?	3 Disse, pois, Davide aos Gabaonitas: Que quereis que eu vos faça? Que satisfação vos darei, para que abençoeis a herança do Senhor?
4 And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.	4 Os Gabaonitas responderam-lhe: Não é nossa pretensão sobre ouro nem prata, senão contra Saul e contra a sua casa; nem queremos que seja morto nenhum homem de Israel. O rei disse-se-lhes: Que quereis, pois, que eu vos faça?
5 And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,	5 Eles responderam ao rei: Aquele homem que iniquamente nos esmagou e oprimiu, nós o devemos exterminar, de tal modo que não fique da sua linhagem nem um só em todos os limites de Israel.
6 Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give them.	6 Sejam-nos dados (ao menos) sete de seus filhos para os crucificarmos diante do Senhor em Babaa, (pátria) de Saul, que foi noutro tempo o escolhido do Senhor. O rei disse: Eu os darei.
7 But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD's oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.	7 O rei não entregou a Mifiboset, filho de Jónatas, filho de Saul, por causa do juramento (firmado em nome) do Senhor, que tinha sido feito entre Davide e Jónatas, filho de Saul.
8 But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:	8 Tomou os dois filhos de Resfa, filha de Aia, chamados Armoni e Mifiboset, os quais ela tinha tido de Saul, e cinco filhos, que Micol, filha de Saul, tinha gerado a Hadriel, filho de Berzelai, que era de Molati,
9 And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the hill before the LORD: and they fell all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.	9 e entregou-os nas mãos dos Gabaonitas, que os crucificaram no monte diante do Senhor. Assim acabaram estes sete homens, mortos todos juntos nos primeiros dias da ceifa, quando se começavam a segar as cevadas.
10 And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.	10 Resfa, filha de Aia, tomando um pano de cilício, estendeu-o debaixo de si, sobre uma pedra, (e esteve ali) desde o princípio da ceifa até que a água do céu caiu sobre (os cádáveres), e não deixou que as aves os despedaçassem de dia, nem as feras de noite.
11 And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.	11 Foi contado a Davide o que tinha feito Resfa, filha de Aia, mulher secundária de Saul.
12 And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh-gilead, which had stolen them from the street of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:	12 Davide foi, e tomou, os ossos de Saul e de Jónatas, seu filho, (recebendo-os) dos homens de Jabes de Galaad, que os tinham tirado furtivamente da praça de Betsan, na qual os Filisteus os tinham pendurado, quando mataram Saul em Gelboé.
13 And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.	13 Davide transportou dali os ossos de Saul e de Jónatas, seu filho, mandou também recolher os ossos dos que tinham sido crucificados.
14 And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.	14 Foi-lhes dada sepultura com os ossos de Saul e de Jónatas, seu filho, na terra de Benjamim, a um lado do sepulcro de Cis seu pai, em cumprimento de todas as ordens do rei. Depois disto, Deus compadeceu-se da terra.
15 Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.	15 Ateou-se, porém, de novo a guerra dos Filisteus contra Israel, e Davide saiu com sua gente, e combateram contra os Filisteus. Estando Davide cansado,
16 And Ishbi-benob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.	16 Jesbilbenob, que era da linhagem de Arafa, que ia armado duma lança, cujo ferro pesava trezentas onças, e que cingia uma espada nova, esforçou-se por ferir Davide.
17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.	17 Abisai, filho de Sarvia, defendeu-o, e, ferindo o Filisteu, o matou. Então os soldados de Davide fizeram um juramento, dizendo: Tu não tornarás a sair à batalha conosco, para que não apagues a lâmpada de Israel.
18 And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.	18 Houve ainda uma segunda guerra em Gob contra os Filisteus, na qual Sobocai, de Husati, matou Saf, da linhagem de Arafa, da raça dos gigantes.
19 And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.	19 Houve mais outra terceira guerra em Gob contra os Filisteus, na qual Adeodato, filho de Salto, que tecia panos de cores em Belém, matou Golias de Get, que levava uma lança, cuja haste era como um cilindro de tear.
20 And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.	20 A quarta guerra foi em Get. Nela se encontrou um homem de grande estatura, que tinha seis dedos em cada mão e em cada pé, isto é, vinte e quatro dedos, e era da raça de Arafa.
21 And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him.	21 Este blasfemou contra Israel, mas matou-o Jonatan, filho de Semaa, irmão de Davide.
22 These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.	22 Estes quatro homens tinham nascido da estirpe de Arafa em Bet, e foram mortos pelas mãos de Davide e da sua gente.
