KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Nem akarom, hogy figyelmen kívül hagyjátok, testvérek, hogy atyáink mindnyájan a felhő alatt voltak, és mindnyájan átvonultak a tengeren,	1 I want you to be quite certain, brothers, that our ancestors al had the cloud over them and al passedthrough the sea.
2 és mindnyájan megkeresztelkedtek Mózes által a felhőben és a tengerben.	2 In the cloud and in the sea they were all baptised into Moses;
3 Mindnyájan ugyanazt a lelki eledelt ették,	3 al ate the same spiritual food
4 és mindnyájan ugyanazt a lelki italt itták, ittak ugyanis az őket követő lelki sziklából: a szikla pedig Krisztus volt.	4 and al drank the same spiritual drink, since they drank from the spiritual rock which fol owed them,and that rock was Christ.
5 De legtöbbjükben nem telt kedve Istennek, hiszen elpusztultak a pusztában .	5 In spite of this, God was not pleased with most of them, and their corpses were scattered over thedesert.
6 Ez pedig számunkra előképként történt, hogy mi ne kívánjuk meg a rosszat, mint ahogy ők megkívánták.	6 Now these happenings were examples, for our benefit, so that we should never set our hearts, as theydid, on evil things;
7 Se bálványimádók ne legyetek, mint egyesek azok közül, amint írva van: »Leült a nép enni és inni, és fölkeltek játszani« .	7 nor are you to worship false gods, as some of them did, as it says in scripture: The people sat down toeat and drink, and afterwards got up to amuse themselves.
8 És ne paráználkodjunk, ahogy egyesek paráználkodtak azok közül, és egy nap huszonháromezren pusztultak el .	8 Nor, again, are we to fall into sexual immorality; some of them did this, and twenty-three thousand mettheir downfal in one day.
9 Krisztust se kísértsük, mint egyesek azok közül kísértették, és elvesztek a kígyók által .	9 And we are not to put the Lord to the test; some of them put him to the test, and they were killed bysnakes.
10 Zúgolódni se zúgolódjatok, mint egyesek zúgolódtak azok közül, és elvesztek a pusztító által .	10 Never complain; some of them complained, and they were killed by the Destroyer.
11 Mindezek előképként történtek velük, és azért írták le, hogy okuljunk belőlük mi, akikhez az idők vége elközelgett.	11 Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were described in writing to bea lesson for us, to whom it has fallen to live in the last days of the ages.
12 Aki tehát azt hiszi, hogy áll, vigyázzon, hogy el ne essék.	12 Everyone, no matter how firmly he thinks he is standing, must be careful he does not fall.
13 Emberi erőt meghaladó kísértés még nem ért titeket. Isten pedig hűséges, és nem engedi meg, hogy erőtökön felül szenvedjetek kísértést, hanem a kísértéssel együtt a szabadulást is megadja, hogy elviselhessétek.	13 None of the trials which have come upon you is more than a human being can stand. You can trustthat God wil not let you be put to the test beyond your strength, but with any trial will also provide a way out byenabling you to put up with it.
14 Ezért, szeretteim, kerüljétek a bálványimádást.	14 For that reason, my dear friends, have nothing to do with the worship of false gods.
15 Úgy szólok hozzátok, mint értelmes emberekhez; ítéljétek meg ti magatok, amit mondok:	15 I am talking to you as sensible people; weigh up for yourselves what I have to say.
16 Az áldás kelyhe, amelyet megáldunk, nem Krisztus vérében való részesedés? És a kenyér, amelyet megtörünk, nem Krisztus testében való részesedés?	16 The blessing-cup, which we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ; and the loaf of bread which we break, is it not a sharing in the body of Christ?
17 Mert egy a kenyér, s egy test vagyunk sokan, hiszen mindnyájan egy kenyérből részesülünk.	17 And as there is one loaf, so we, although there are many of us, are one single body, for we all sharein the one loaf.
18 Tekintsétek a test szerint való Izraelt: akik az áldozatokat eszik, ugye közösségben vannak az oltárral?	18 Now compare the natural people of Israel: is it not true that those who eat the sacrifices share thealtar?
19 Mit akarok ezzel mondani? Talán azt, hogy a bálványoknak áldozott hús vagy a bálvány valóban valami?	19 What does this mean? That the dedication of food to false gods amounts to anything? Or that falsegods themselves amount to anything?
20 Dehogy! De amit a nemzetek áldoznak, azt az ördögöknek áldozzák és nem Istennek . Nem akarom, hogy ördögökkel legyetek közösségben.	20 No, it does not; simply that when pagans sacrifice, what is sacrificed by them is sacrificed to demonswho are not God. I do not want you to share with demons.
21 Nem ihatjátok az Úr kelyhét és az ördögök kelyhét. Nem lehettek részesei az Úr asztalának és az ördögök asztalának.	21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons as wel ; you cannot have a share at theLord's table and the demons' table as wel .
22 Ingereljük talán féltékenységre az Urat? Talán erősebbek vagyunk nála?	22 Do we real y want to arouse the Lord's jealousy; are we stronger than he is?
23 »Minden szabad«, de nem minden használ. »Minden szabad«, de nem minden szolgál épülésre.	23 'Everything is permissible'; maybe so, but not everything does good. True, everything is permissible,but not everything builds people up.
24 Senki se keresse a maga javát, hanem a másikét.	24 Nobody should be looking for selfish advantage, but everybody for someone else's.
25 Mindent, ami a húspiacon eladásra kerül, egyetek meg, anélkül, hogy lelkiismereti okból bármit kérdeznétek.	25 Eat anything that is sold in butchers' shops; there is no need to ask questions for conscience's sake,
26 Mert az Úré a föld és annak teljessége.	26 since To the Lord belong the earth and all it contains.
27 Ha valaki a hitetlenek közül meghív titeket és el akartok menni, mindent egyetek meg, amit elétek tesznek, anélkül, hogy lelkiismereti okból bármit kérdeznétek.	27 If an unbeliever invites you to a meal, go if you want to, and eat whatever is put before you; you neednot ask questions of conscience first.
28 De ha valaki azt mondja nektek: »Ez a bálványok áldozatából való«, ne egyétek meg amiatt, aki szóvá tette, és a lelkiismeret miatt;	28 But if someone says to you, 'This food has been offered in sacrifice,' do not eat it, out ofconsideration for the person that told you, for conscience's sake-
29 nem a te lelkiismeretedet értem ezen, hanem a másikét. Miért ítélje meg az én szabadságomat másnak a lelkiismerete?	29 not your own conscience, I mean, but the other person's. Why should my freedom be governed bysomebody else's conscience?
30 Ha én hálaadással étkezem, miért káromoljon engem valaki azért, amiért hálát adok?	30 Provided that I accept it with gratitude, why should I be blamed for eating food for which I givethanks?
31 Tehát akár esztek, akár isztok, és bármi mást tesztek, mindent Isten dicsőségére tegyetek.	31 Whatever you eat, then, or drink, and whatever else you do, do it al for the glory of God.
32 Ne adjatok okot a botránkozásra se zsidóknak, se görögöknek, se Isten egyházának,	32 Never be a cause of offence, either to Jews or to Greeks or to the Church of God,
33 mint ahogy én is mindenben mindenkinek kedvében járok, nem azt keresve, ami nekem hasznos, hanem ami a többieknek, hogy üdvözüljenek.	33 just as I try to accommodate everybody in everything, not looking for my own advantage, but for theadvantage of everybody else, so that they may be saved.
