KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Az Úr azután ezt mondta Mózesnek: »Mondd Áronnak: Nyújtsd ki kezedet a botoddal a folyókra, a patakokra és a tavakra, és hozd fel a békákat Egyiptom földjére!«	1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, "Stretch out your hand with your staff, over the rivers, thecanals and the marshland, and bring the frogs up over the land of Egypt." '
2 Kinyújtotta erre Áron a kezét Egyiptom vizeire, feljöttek a békák, és ellepték Egyiptom földjét.	2 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the landof Egypt.
3 De a varázslók is hasonlóképpen cselekedtek bűbájosságuk által, és felhozták a békákat Egyiptom földjére.	3 But by their spel s the magicians did the same, bringing frogs over the land of Egypt.
4 Hívatta erre a fáraó Mózest és Áront, és azt mondta nekik: »Könyörögjetek az Úrhoz, hogy vigye el rólam és népemről a békákat! Akkor elengedem a népet, hogy áldozzék az Úrnak!«	4 Pharaoh then summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Entreat Yahweh to take the frogs away from meand my subjects, and I promise to let the people go and sacrifice to Yahweh.'
5 Azt mondta erre Mózes a fáraónak: »Határozd meg nekem, mikor könyörögjek érted, szolgáidért és népedért, hogy eltávozzanak a békák tőled és házadtól, és csak a folyóban maradjanak meg!«	5 Moses said to Pharaoh, 'You are the one to gain by it: when would you like me to pray for you, yourofficials and your subjects, so as to rid you and your houses of the frogs so that they wil be left only in theRiver?'
6 A fáraó így felelt: »Holnap.« Erre ő azt mondta: »Szavad szerint cselekszem, és megtudod, hogy nincs hasonló az Úrhoz, a mi Istenünkhöz!	6 'Tomorrow,' he said. Moses said, 'It shal be as you say, so that you wil know that there is no one likeYahweh our God.
7 El fognak távozni a békák tőled és házadtól, szolgáidtól és népedtől, csak a folyóban maradnak meg!«	7 The frogs wil leave you, your houses, your officials and your subjects and wil be left only in the River.'
8 Amikor aztán Mózes és Áron kimentek a fáraótól, Mózes az Úrhoz kiáltott a békák miatt, ahogy a fáraónak megígérte.	8 Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh's presence, and Moses pleaded with Yahweh about the frogs which hehad inflicted on Pharaoh.
9 Erre az Úr Mózes szava szerint cselekedett, és kiveszett a béka a házakból, az udvarokból és a mezőkről.	9 Yahweh did as Moses asked, and in house and courtyard and field the frogs died.
10 Mérhetetlen rakásokba dobálták össze őket, és bűzlött tőlük az ország.	10 They piled them up in heaps and the country stank.
11 Amikor azonban a fáraó látta, hogy visszatért a nyugalma, megkeményítette szívét, és nem hallgatott rájuk, ahogy az Úr előre megmondta.	11 But once Pharaoh saw that there had been a respite, he became obstinate and, as Yahweh hadforetold, refused to listen to them.
12 Azt mondta ekkor az Úr Mózesnek: »Szólj Áronnak: Nyújtsd ki botodat, és üss a föld porára, hogy szúnyoggá legyen az Egyiptomnak egész földjén!«	12 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, "Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, andit wil turn into mosquitoes throughout the whole of Egypt." '
13 Úgy is tettek: Áron kinyújtotta a kezét a bottal, ráütött a föld porára, és szúnyog lett abból emberen és állaton. A föld minden pora szúnyoggá változott Egyiptom egész földjén.	13 Aaron stretched out his hand, with his staff, and struck the dust of the earth, and there weremosquitoes on man and beast; al the dust of the earth turned into mosquitoes throughout the whole of Egypt.
14 Ugyanígy cselekedtek a varázslók is, hogy bűbájosságukkal szúnyogot támasszanak, de nem tudtak. Szúnyog volt tehát emberen és állaton.	14 By their spel s the magicians tried to produce mosquitoes in the same way but failed, and there weremosquitoes on man and beast.
15 A varázslók azt mondták erre a fáraónak: »Isten ujja ez!« Ám a fáraó szíve megkeményedett, és nem hallgatott rájuk, ahogy az Úr előre megmondta.	15 So the magicians said to Pharaoh, 'This is the finger of God.' But Pharaoh was obstinate and, asYahweh had foretold, refused to listen to them.
16 Ekkor azt mondta az Úr Mózesnek: »Kora reggel kelj fel, állj a fáraó elé – kimegy ugyanis a vízhez –, és mondd neki: Ezt üzeni az Úr: Engedd el népemet, hogy áldozzék nekem,	16 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Get up early in the morning and confront Pharaoh as he makes his wayto the water. Say to him, "Yahweh says this: Let my people go and worship me.
17 mert ha el nem engeded, íme, mindenféle legyet bocsátok rád, szolgáidra, népedre és házaidra, úgyhogy megtelik százféle léggyel az egyiptomiak háza és az egész föld, amelyen laknak.	17 But if you wil not let my people go, I shal send horseflies on you, on your officials, your subjects andyour houses. The Egyptians' houses wil swarm with horseflies, and so wil the very ground they stand on.
18 Gósen földjével azonban csodát teszek, ahol az én népem van, hogy ott ne támadjon légy, és megtudd, hogy én, az Úr itt vagyok ezen a földön!	18 But I shal exempt the region of Goshen, where my people are living, that day; there will be nohorseflies there, so that you will know that I am Yahweh, here in this country.
19 Így teszek különbséget az én népem és a te néped között. Holnap következik be ez a jel.«	19 I shal make a distinction between my people and your people. This sign wil take place tomorrow." '
20 Úgy is tett az Úr: tömérdek légy lepte el a fáraó és szolgáinak házát és Egyiptom egész földjét, és ezek a legyek tönkretették az országot.	20 Yahweh did this, and great swarms of horseflies found their way into Pharaoh's palace, into hisofficials' houses and al over Egypt; the country was ruined by the horseflies.
21 Hívatta erre a fáraó Mózest és Áront, és azt mondta nekik: »Menjetek, áldozzatok Isteneteknek, de itt, ezen a földön!«	21 Pharaoh then summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Go and sacrifice to your God, inside thecountry.'
22 Mózes azonban azt felelte: »Azt nem lehet, mert az egyiptomiak előtt utálatos az, amit mi áldozunk az Úrnak, a mi Istenünknek. Ha azt, amit az egyiptomiak tisztelnek, levágjuk előttük, megköveznek minket.	22 'That would never do,' Moses said, 'since what we sacrifice to Yahweh our God is outrageous to theEgyptians. If the Egyptians see us offering sacrifices which outrage them, won't they stone us?
23 Hadd menjünk tehát háromnapi útra a pusztába, hogy ott áldozzunk az Úrnak, a mi Istenünknek, ahogy megparancsolta nekünk!«	23 We shal make a three-days' journey into the desert to sacrifice to Yahweh our God, as he has orderedus.'
24 Azt mondta erre a fáraó: »Elengedlek titeket, hogy áldozzatok az Úrnak, a ti Isteneteknek a pusztában. De nagyon messzire ne menjetek, és könyörögjetek értem!«	24 Pharaoh said, 'I wil let you go and sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the desert, provided you do not govery far. Pray for me.'
25 Mózes azt felelte: »Mihelyt kimegyek tőled, imádkozni fogok az Úrhoz, és holnap eltávozik a légy a fáraótól, szolgáitól és népétől. De aztán rá ne szedj megint, hogy nem engeded el a népet, hogy áldozzék az Úrnak!«	25 'The moment I leave you,' Moses said, 'I shal pray to Yahweh. Tomorrow morning the horseflies willeave Pharaoh, his officials and his subjects. But Pharaoh must stop trifling with us by not al owing the people togo and sacrifice to Yahweh.'
26 Amikor tehát Mózes kiment a fáraótól, imádkozott az Úrhoz,	26 Moses then left Pharaoh's presence and prayed to Yahweh,
27 és az Úr az ő szava szerint cselekedett. Eltávolította a legyet a fáraóról, a szolgáiról és a népéről, egy sem maradt belőle.	27 and Yahweh did as Moses asked; the horseflies left Pharaoh, his officials and his subjects; not oneremained.
28 Ám a fáraó szíve megkeményedett, és ezúttal sem engedte el a népet.	28 But Pharaoh became obstinate this time too and did not let the people go.
