Deuteronomy 34

1 Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab upon mount Nebo, to the top of Phasga over against Jericho: and the Lord shewed him all the land of Galaad as far as Dan.	1 Dalle steppe di Moab Mosè salì sul monte Nebo sulla vetta del Pisga che è di fronte a Gerico, e Jahvè gli mostrò tutta la terra: Galaad fino a Dan,
2 And all Nephtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasses, and all the land of Juda unto the furthermost sea,	2 tutto Neftali, la terra di Efraim e di Manasse, tutta la terra di Giuda fino al Mare Occidentale,
3 And the south part, and the breadth of the plain of Jericho the city of palm trees as far as Segor.	3 il Negheb, il distretto, nella valle di Gerico, città delle palme, fino a Zoar.
4 And the Lord said to him: This is the land, for which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying: I will give it to thy seed. Thou hast seen it with thy eyes, and shalt not pass over to it.	4 Jahvè gli disse: «Questa è la terra che ho giurato ad Abramo, a Isacco, e a Giacobbe, dicendo: “Alla tua posterità io la concederò”. Te l’ho fatta vedere con i tuoi occhi, ma tu non ci entrerai».
5 And Moses the servant of the Lord died there, in the land of Moab, by the commandment of the Lord:	5 Mosè servitore di Jahvè morì qui, nella terra di Moab, secondo il comando di Jahvè,
6 And he buried him in the valley of the land of Moab over against Phogor: and no man hath known of his sepulchre until this present day.	6 e lo seppellì nella valle, nella terra di Moab, di fronte a Bet-Peor. Ma fino a oggi nessuno ha conosciuto la sua tomba.
7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, neither were his teeth moved.	7 Mosè aveva centoventi anni quando morì: il suo occhio non era spento, la sua freschezza non era svanita.
8 And the children of Israel mourned for him in the plains of Moab thirty days: and the days of their mourning in which they mourned for Moses were ended.	8 Nelle steppe di Moab i figli di Israele piansero Mosè per trenta giorni e terminarono i giorni di lutto per il pianto di Mosè.
9 And Josue the son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, because Moses had laid his hands upon him. And the children of Israel obeyed him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses.	9 Giosuè, figlio di Nun, era pieno di spirito di saggezza poiché Mosè aveva posato su di lui le mani. I figli di Israele lo ascoltarono e fecero come Jahvè aveva ordinato a Mosè.
10 And there arose no more a prophet in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,	10 Ma in Israele non sorse più nessun profeta come Mosè che conosceva Jahvè faccia a faccia,
11 In all the signs and wonders, which he sent by him, to do in the land of Egypt to Pharao, and to all his servants, and to his whole land,	11 per i tanti segni e prodigi che Jahvè lo mandò a compiere nella terra d’Egitto per il Faraone, per i suoi servitori e per tutta la sua terra,
12 And all the mighty hand, and great miracles, which Moses did before all Israel.	12 né Per quanto riguarda tutta la potenza della mano e ogni terrore grande di cui diede prova Mosè agli occhi di tutto Israele.
