1 And there assembled together unto him the Pharisees and some of the scribes, coming from Jerusalem.	1 Les pharisiens et quelques scribes, venus de Jérusalem s'assemblèrent auprès de Jésus.
2 And when they had seen some of his disciples eat bread with common, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault.	2 Et ayant vu quelques-uns de Ses disciples manger du pain avec des mains impures, c'est-à-dire non lavées, ils les blâmèrent.
3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews eat not without often washing their hands, holding the tradition of the ancients:	3 Car les pharisiens et tous les Juifs ne mangent pas sans s'être souvent lavé les mains, gardant en cela la tradition des anciens.
4 And when they come from the market, unless they be washed, they eat not: and many other things there are that have been delivered to them to observe, the washings of cups and of pots, and of brazen vessels, and of beds.	4 Et lorsqu'ils reviennent de la place publique, ils ne mangent pas sans s'être lavés. Ils ont encore beaucoup d'autres traditions qu'ils observent, comme de laver les coupes, les vases de terre et d'airain, et les lits.
5 And the Pharisees and scribes asked him: Why do not thy disciples walk according to the tradition of the ancients, but they eat bread with common hands?	5 Les pharisiens et les scribes Lui demandèrent donc: Pourquoi Vos disciples n'observent-ils point la tradition des anciens, et mangent-ils du pain avec des mains impures?
6 But he answering, said to them: Well did Isaias prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.	6 Il leur répondit: Isaïe a bien prophétisé sur vous, hypocrites, ainsi qu'il est écrit: Ce peuple M'honore des lèvres, mais leur coeur est loin de Moi;
7 And in vain to they worship me, teaching doctrines and precepts of men.	7 c'est en vain qu'ils M'honorent, enseignant des doctrines et des ordonnances humaines.
8 For leaving the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, the washing of pots and of cups: and many other things you do like to these.	8 Car, laissant de côté le commandement de Dieu, vous observez la tradition des hommes, lavant les vases et les coupes, et faisant beaucoup d'autres choses semblables.
9 And he said to them: Well do you make void the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition.	9 Et Il leur disait: Vous détruisez fort bien le commandement de Dieu, pour garder votre tradition.
10 For Moses said: Honor thy father and thy mother; and He that shall curse father or mother, dying let him die.	10 Car Moïse a dit: Honore ton père et ta mère; et: Que celui qui maudira son père ou sa mère soit puni de mort.
11 But you say: If a man shall say to his father or mother, Corban, (which is a gift,) whatsoever is from me, shall profit thee.	11 Mais vous dites, vous: Si un homme dit à son père ou à sa mère: Tout corban (c'est-à-dire, don) que je fais vous profitera,
12 And further you suffer him not to do any thing for his father or mother,	12 vous ne le laissez rien faire de plus pour son père ou sa mère,
13 Making void the word of God by your own tradition, which you have given forth. And many other such like things you do.	13 annulant la parole de Dieu par votre tradition que vous avez établie; et vous faites encore beaucoup d'autres choses semblables.
14 And calling again the multitude unto him, he said to them: Hear ye me all, and understand.	14 Alors, appelant de nouveau la foule, Il lui disait: Ecoutez-Moi tous, et comprenez.
15 There is nothing from without a man that entering into him, can defile him. But the things which come from a man, those are they that defile a man.	15 Il n'y a rien au dehors de l'homme, qui, entrant en lui, puisse le souiller; mais ce qui sort de l'homme, c'est là ce qui souille l'homme.
16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.	16 Que celui qui a des oreilles pour entendre, entende.
17 And when he was come into the house from the multitude, his disciples asked him the parable.	17 Et lorsqu'Il fut entré dans une maison, loin de la foule, Ses disciples L'interrogèrent sur cette parabole.
18 And he saith to them: So are you also without knowledge? understand you not that every thing from without, entering into a man cannot defile him:	18 Et Il leur dit: Est-ce ainsi que vous avez vous-mêmes si peu d'intelligence? Ne comprenez-vous pas que tout ce qui, du dehors, entre dans l'homme, ne peut le souiller,
19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but goeth into the belly, and goeth out into the privy, purging all meats?	19 parce que cela n'entre pas dans son coeur, mais va dans son ventre, puis est rejeté dans le lieu secret, ce qui purifie tous les aliments?
20 But he said that the things which come out from a man, they defile a man.	20 Mais, disait-Il, ce qui sort de l'homme, c'est là ce qui souille l'homme.
21 For from within out of the heart of men proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,	21 Car c'est du dedans, du coeur des hommes, que sortent les mauvaises pensées, les adultères, les fornications, les homicides,
22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.	22 les vols, l'avarice, les méchancetés, la fraude, les impudicités, l'oeil mauvais, le blasphème, l'orgueil, la folie.
23 All these evil things come from within, and defile a man.	23 Tous ces maux sortent du dedans, et souillent l'homme.
24 And rising from thence he went into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon: and entering into a house, he would that no man should know it, and he could not be hid.	24 Partant de là, Il S'en alla sur les confins de Tyr et de Sidon; et étant entré dans une maison, Il voulait que personne ne le sût; mais Il ne put rester caché.
25 For a woman as soon as she heard of him, whose daughter had an unclean spirit, came in and fell down at his feet.	25 Car une femme, dont la fille était possédée d'un esprit impur, ayant entendu parler de Lui, entra aussitôt et se jeta à Ses pieds.
26 For the woman was a Gentile, a Syrophenician born. And she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.	26 C'était une femme païenne, Syrophénicienne de nation. Et elle Le priait de chasser le démon de sa fille.
27 Who said to her: Suffer first the children to be filled: for it is not good to take the bread of the children, and cast it to the dogs.	27 Mais Jésus lui dit: Laisse d'abord les enfants se rassasier; car il n'est pas bon de prendre le pain des enfants, et de le jeter aux chiens.
28 But she answered and said to him: Yea, Lord; for the whelps also eat under the table of the crumbs of the children.	28 Mais elle Lui répondit et Lui dit: C'est vrai, Seigneur; mais les petits chiens mangent sous la table les miettes des enfants.
29 And he said to her: For this saying go thy way, the devil is gone out of thy daughter.	29 Alors Il lui dit: A cause de cette parole, va; le démon est sorti de ta fille.
30 And when she was come into her house, she found the girl lying upon the bed, and that the devil was gone out.	30 Et s'en étant allée dans sa maison, elle trouva la jeune fille couchée sur le lit; le démon était sorti.
31 And again going out of the coasts of Tyre, he came by Sidon to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.	31 Quittant de nouveau les confins de Tyr, Il vint par Sidon vers la mer de Galilée, en traversant le milieu de la Décapole.
32 And they bring to him one deaf and dumb; and they besought him that he would lay his hand upon him.	32 Et on Lui amena un homme sourd et muet, et on Le suppliait de lui imposer les mains.
33 And taking him from the multitude apart, he put his fingers into his ears, and spitting, he touched his tongue:	33 Alors Jésus, le tirant à part de la foule, lui mit les doigts dans les oreilles, et lui toucha la langue avec Sa salive.
34 And looking up to heaven, he groaned, and said to him: Ephpheta, which is, Be thou opened.	34 Et levant les yeux au Ciel, Il soupira, et lui dit: Ephphétha; c'est-à-dire: Ouvre-toi.
35 And immediately his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke right.	35 Et aussitôt ses oreilles furent ouvertes, et le lien de sa langue fut rompu, et il parlait distinctement.
36 And he charged them that they should tell no man. But the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal did they publish it.	36 Il leur défendit de le dire à personne. Mais plus Il le leur défendait, plus ils le publiaient,
37 And so much the more did they wonder, saying: He hath done all things well; he hath made both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.	37 et plus ils étaient saisis d'admiration, disant: Il a bien fait toutes choses; Il a fait entendre les sourds et parler les muets.
