1 And it came to pass when Jesus had ended these words, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judea, beyond Jordan.	1 l. Il leur dit: Tous ne comprennent pas cette parole, mais seulement ceux à qui cela a été donné.
2 And great multitudes followed him: and he healed them there.	2 Des foules nombreuses Le suivirent, et il y fit des guérisons.
3 And there came to him the Pharisees tempting him, and saying: Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?	3 Alors les pharisiens s'approchèrent de Lui pour Le tenter; et ils Lui dirent: Est-il permis à un homme de répudier sa femme pour quelque cause que ce soit?
4 Who answering, said to them: Have ye not read, that he who made man from the beginning, Made them male and female? And he said:	4 Il leur répondit: N'avez-vous pas lu que Celui qui créa l'homme dès le commencement, créa un homme et une femme, et qu'Il dit:
5 For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they two shall be in one flesh.	5 A cause de cela, l'homme quittera son père et sa mère, et il s'attachera à sa femme, et ils seront deux dans une seule chair?
6 Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder.	6 Ainsi, ils ne sont plus deux, mais une seule chair. Que l'homme ne sépare donc pas ce que Dieu a uni.
7 They say to him: Why then did Moses command to give a bill of divorce, and to put away?	7 Ils Lui dirent: Pourquoi donc Moïse a-t-il prescrit de donner à la femme un acte de divorce et de la renvoyer?
8 He saith to them: Because Moses by reason of the hardness of your heart permitted you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.	8 Il leur dit: C'est à cause de la dureté de votre coeur que Moïse vous a permis de renvoyer vos femmes; mais au commencement, il n'en était pas ainsi.
9 And I say to you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and he that shall marry her that is put away, committeth adultery.	9 Or Je vous dis que quiconque renvoie sa femme, si ce n'est pour infidélité, et en épouse une autre, commet un adultère, et que celui qui épouse une femme renvoyée commet un adultère.
10 His disciples say unto him: If the case of a man with his wife be so, it is not expedient to marry.	10 Ses disciples Lui dirent: Si telle est la condition de l'homme à l'égard de la femme, il n'est pas avantageux de se marier.
11 Who said to them: All men take not this word, but they to whom it is given.
12 For there are eunuchs, who were born so from their mother's womb: and there are eunuchs, who were made so by men: and there are eunuchs, who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven. He that can take, let him take it.	12 Car il y a des eunuques qui sont nés tels dès le sein de leur mère, et il y a des eunuques qui ont été faits tels par les hommes, et il y a des eunuques qui se sont eux-mêmes rendus tels à cause du royaume des Cieux. Que celui qui peut comprendre, comprenne.
13 Then were little children presented to him, that he should impose hands upon them and pray. And the disciples rebuked them.	13 On Lui présenta alors de petits enfants, afin qu'Il leur imposât les mains et pria pour eux. Et les disciples les repoussaient.
14 But Jesus said to them: Suffer the little children, and forbid them not to come to me: for the kingdom of heaven is for such.	14 Mais Jésus leur dit: Laissez ces petits enfants, et ne les empêchez pas de venir à Moi; car le royaume des Cieux est pour ceux qui leur ressemblent.
15 And when he had imposed hands upon them, he departed from thence.	15 Et leur ayant imposé les mains, Il partit de là.
16 And behold one came and said to him: Good master, what good shall I do that I may have life everlasting?	16 Et voici qu'un homme s'approcha, et Lui dit: Bon Maître, que dois-je faire de bon pour avoir la vie éternelle?
17 Who said to him: Why asketh thou me concerning good? One is good, God. But if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.	17 Jésus lui dit: Pourquoi M'interroges-tu sur ce qui est bon? Dieu seul est bon. Si tu veux entrer dans la vie, garde les commandements.
18 He said to him: Which? And Jesus said: Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness.	18 Lesquels? Lui dit-il. Jésus dit: Tu ne commettras pas d'homicide; Tu ne seras point adultère; Tu ne déroberas point; Tu ne diras pas de faux témoignage;
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.	19 Honore ton père et ta mère; et, Tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même.
20 The young man saith to him: All these I have kept from my youth, what is yet wanting to me?	20 Le jeune homme lui dit: J'ai observé toutes ces choses dès ma jeunesse; que me manque-t-il encore?
21 Jesus saith to him: If thou wilt be perfect, go sell what thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come follow me.	21 Jésus lui dit: Si tu veux être parfait, va, vends ce que tu as et donne-le aux pauvres, et tu auras un trésor dans le Ciel; puis viens, et suis-Moi.
22 And when the young man had heard this word, he went away sad: for he had great possessions.	22 Lorsque le jeune homme eut entendu cette parole, il s'en alla tout triste, car il avait de grands biens.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples: Amen, I say to you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.	23 Et Jésus dit à Ses disciples: En vérité, Je vous le dis, un riche entrera difficilement dans le royaume des Cieux.
24 And again I say to you: It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven.	24 Je vous le dis encore, il est plus facile à un chameau d'entrer par le trou d'une aiguille, qu'à un riche d'entrer dans le royaume des Cieux.
25 And when they had heard this, the disciples wondered very much, saying: Who then can be saved?	25 Les disciples, ayant entendu cela, furent très étonnés; et ils disaient: Qui donc pourra être sauvé?
26 And Jesus beholding, said to them: With men this is impossible: but with God all things are possible.	26 Jésus, les regardant, leur dit: Cela est impossible aux hommes, mais tout est possible à Dieu.
27 Then Peter answering, said to him: Behold we have left all things, and have followed thee: what therefore shall we have?	27 Alors Pierre, prenant la parole, Lui dit: Nous, voici que nous avons tout quitté, et que nous Vous avons suivi; qu'y aura-il-donc pour nous?
28 And Jesus said to them: Amen, I say to you, that you, who have followed me, in the regeneration, when the Son of man shall sit on the seat of his majesty, you also shall sit on twelve seats judging the twelve tribes of Israel.	28 Jésus leur dit: En vérité, Je vous le dis, vous qui M'avez suivi, lorsque, au temps de la régénération, le Fils de l'homme siégera sur le trône de Sa gloire, vous siégerez, vous aussi, sur douze trônes, et vous jugerez les douze tribus d'Israël.
29 And every one that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall possess life everlasting.	29 Et quiconque aura quitté sa maison, ou ses frères, ou ses soeurs, ou son père, ou sa mère, ou sa femme, ou ses enfants, ou ses champs, à cause de Mon nom, recevra le centuple, et possédera la vie éternelle.
30 And many that are first, shall be last: and the last shall be first.	30 Mais beaucoup des premiers seront les derniers, et beaucoup des derniers seront les premiers.
