1 And it came to pass when Jesus had ended these words, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judea, beyond Jordan.	1 Or Gesù, finiti questi discorsi, si parti dalla Galilea e andò nel territorio della Giudea di là del Giordano.
2 And great multitudes followed him: and he healed them there.	2 E lo seguì molta gente ed egli curò i loro malati.
3 And there came to him the Pharisees tempting him, and saying: Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?	3 E si accostarono a lui dei Farisei per tentarlo, e gli dissero: E' lecito all'uomo ripudiare, per un motivo qualsiasi, la propria moglie?
4 Who answering, said to them: Have ye not read, that he who made man from the beginning, Made them male and female? And he said:	4 Ed egli rispose loro: Non avete letto che il Creatore da principio li creò maschio e femmina? E disse:
5 For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they two shall be in one flesh.	5 Per questo l'uomo lascerà il padre e la madre e si unirà con la moglie, e i due saranno una sola carne.
6 Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder.	6 Dunque, non son più due, ma una sola carne. Ciò che Dio ha congiunto l'uomo dunque non lo divida.
7 They say to him: Why then did Moses command to give a bill of divorce, and to put away?	7 Ma perchè dunque, gli replicarono, Mosè comandò di dare il libello del ripudio e di mandarla via?
8 He saith to them: Because Moses by reason of the hardness of your heart permitted you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.	8 E Gesù: Per la durezza del vostro cuore, Mosè vi permise di ripudiare le vostre mogli; ma da principio non fu così.
9 And I say to you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and he that shall marry her that is put away, committeth adultery.	9 Però io vi dico: chi rimanda la propria moglie, eccetto in caso di fornicazione, e ne prende un'altra, è adultero; e chi sposa la ripudiata è adultero.
10 His disciples say unto him: If the case of a man with his wife be so, it is not expedient to marry.	10 Gli dicono i suoi discepoli: Se tale è la condizione dell'uomo rispetto alla moglie, non mette conto sposarsi.
11 Who said to them: All men take not this word, but they to whom it is given.	11 Ed egli disse loro: Non tutti capiscono questo, ma soltanto quelli a cui è stato concesso.
12 For there are eunuchs, who were born so from their mother's womb: and there are eunuchs, who were made so by men: and there are eunuchs, who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven. He that can take, let him take it.	12 Ci sono infatti degli eunuchi, usciti tali dal seno della madre, e ci sono degli eunuchi fatti tali dagli uomini, e ci sono di quelli che si son fatti eunuchi da sè in vista del regno dei cieli. Comprenda chi può.
13 Then were little children presented to him, that he should impose hands upon them and pray. And the disciples rebuked them.	13 Allora gli furono presentati dei bambini, affinchè imponesse loro le mani pregando. Ma i discepoli li sgridavano.
14 But Jesus said to them: Suffer the little children, and forbid them not to come to me: for the kingdom of heaven is for such.	14 E Gesù disse loro: Lasciateli fare i bambini, e non impedite loro di venire a me: di tali è infatti il re­gno dei cieli.
15 And when he had imposed hands upon them, he departed from thence.	15 E imposte loro le mani, se ne partì.
16 And behold one came and said to him: Good master, what good shall I do that I may have life everlasting?	16 Ed ecco un tale accostarsi e dirgli: Buon maestro, che dovrò fare di bene io per avere la vita eterna?
17 Who said to him: Why asketh thou me concerning good? One is good, God. But if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.	17 E Gesù gli rispose: Perchè m'interroghi riguardo al bene? Uno solo è buono, Dio. Or se vuoi entrare nella vita, osserva i comandamenti.
18 He said to him: Which? And Jesus said: Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness.	18 Quali? gli domandò. E Gesù rispose: Non uccidere, non commettere adulterio, non rubare, non testimoniare il falso:
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.	19 onora il padre e la madre, e ama il prossimo tuo come te stesso.
20 The young man saith to him: All these I have kept from my youth, what is yet wanting to me?	20 E il giovane a lui: Tutto questo l'ho osservato fin da fanciullo; che altro mi manca?
21 Jesus saith to him: If thou wilt be perfect, go sell what thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come follow me.	21 Gesù gli rispose: Se vuoi essere perfetto, va', vendi quanto hai, dallo ai poveri e avrai un tesoro nel cielo, poi vieni e seguimi.
22 And when the young man had heard this word, he went away sad: for he had great possessions.	22 Ma il giovane, udite queste parole, se ne andò via tutto contristato, perchè aveva molti beni.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples: Amen, I say to you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.	23 E Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: In verità vi dico: un ricco entrerà difficilmente nel regno dei cieli.
24 And again I say to you: It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven.	24 E vi dico di più, che è più facile per un cammello passare per una cruna d'ago che per un ricco entrare nel regno dei cieli.
25 And when they had heard this, the disciples wondered very much, saying: Who then can be saved?	25 Udito ciò i discepoli, molto maravigliati, esclamarono: Chi potrà dunque salvarsi?
26 And Jesus beholding, said to them: With men this is impossible: but with God all things are possible.	26 E Gesù, guardatili, disse loro: Questo è impossibile agli uomini, ma a Dio tutto è possibile.
27 Then Peter answering, said to him: Behold we have left all things, and have followed thee: what therefore shall we have?	27 Allora Pietro prese addirgli: Ecco noi abbiamo lasciato ogni cosa e ti abbiamo seguito, che ce ne verrà?
28 And Jesus said to them: Amen, I say to you, that you, who have followed me, in the regeneration, when the Son of man shall sit on the seat of his majesty, you also shall sit on twelve seats judging the twelve tribes of Israel.	28 E Gesù disse loro: In verità vi dico: voi che mi avete seguito, nella rigenerazione, quando il Figlio dell'uomo sederà sul trono della sua gloria, sederete anche voi sopra dodici troni a giudicare le dodici tribù d'Israele.
29 And every one that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall possess life everlasting.	29 E chi avrà lasciato la casa, fratelli o sorelle, o padre o madre, o moglie o figli, o i campi per amor del mio nome, riceverà il centuplo, e possederà la vita eterna.
30 And many that are first, shall be last: and the last shall be first.	30 E molti, di primi saranno ultimi, e d'ultimi primi.
