9 And Ozias begot Joatham. And Joatham begot Achaz. And Achaz begot Ezechias.	9 Ozias engendra Joatham, Joatham engendra Achaz, Achaz engendra Ezéchias,
10 And Ezechias begot Manasses. And Manesses begot Amon. And Amon begot Josias.	10 Ezéchias engendra Manassé, Manassé engendra Amon, Amon engendra Josias,
11 And Josias begot Jechonias and his brethren in the transmigration of Babylon.	11 Josias engendra Jéchonias et ses frères; ce fut alors la déportation à Babylone.
12 And after the transmigration of Babylon, Jechonias begot Salathiel. And Salathiel begot Zorobabel.	12 Après la déportation à Babylone, Jéchonias engendra Salathiel, Salathiel engendra Zorobabel,
13 And Zorobabel begot Abiud. And Abiud begot Eliacim. And Eliacim begot Azor.	13 Zorobabel engendra Abioud, Abioud engendra Eliakim, Eliakim engendra Azor,
14 And Azor begot Sadoc. And Sadoc begot Achim. And Achim begot Eliud.	14 Azor engendra Sadok, Sadok engendra Akhim, Akhim engendra Elioud,
15 And Eliud begot Eleazar. And Eleazar begot Mathan. And Mathan begot Jacob.	15 Elioud engendra Eléazar, Eléazar engendra Matthan, Matthan engendra Jacob,
16 And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.	16 Jacob engendra Joseph, l'époux de Marie, de laquelle naquit Jésus, que l'on appelle Christ.
17 So all the generations, from Abraham to David, are fourteen generations. And from David to the transmigration of Babylon, are fourteen generations: and from the transmigration of Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations.	17 Le total des générations est donc: d'Abraham à David, quatorze générations; de David à ladéportation de Babylone, quatorze générations; de la déportation de Babylone au Christ, quatorze générations.
18 Now the generation of Christ was in this wise. When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost.	18 Or telle fut la genèse de Jésus Christ. Marie, sa mère, était fiancée à Joseph: or, avant qu'ilseussent mené vie commune, elle se trouva enceinte par le fait de l'Esprit Saint.
19 Whereupon Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing publicly to expose her, was minded to put her away privately.	19 Joseph, son mari, qui était un homme juste et ne voulait pas la dénoncer publiquement, résolut dela répudier sans bruit.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep, saying: Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her, is of the Holy Ghost.	20 Alors qu'il avait formé ce dessein, voici que l'Ange du Seigneur lui apparut en songe et lui dit:"Joseph, fils de David, ne crains pas de prendre chez toi Marie, ta femme: car ce qui a été engendré en elle vientde l'Esprit Saint;
21 And she shall bring forth a son: and thou shalt call his name JESUS. For he shall save his people from their sins.	21 elle enfantera un fils, et tu l'appelleras du nom de Jésus: car c'est lui qui sauvera son peuple de sespéchés."
22 Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which the Lord spoke by the prophet, saying:	22 Or tout ceci advint pour que s'accomplît cet oracle prophétique du Seigneur:
23 Behold a virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.	23 Voici que la vierge concevra et enfantera un fils, et on l'appellera du nom d'Emmanuel, ce qui setraduit: "Dieu avec nous."
24 And Joseph rising up from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and took unto him his wife.	24 Une fois réveillé, Joseph fit comme l'Ange du Seigneur lui avait prescrit: il prit chez lui safemme;
25 And he knew her not till she brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.	25 et il ne la connut pas jusqu'au jour où elle enfanta un fils, et il l'appela du nom de Jésus.
