1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: Son of man, there were two women, daughters of one mother.	1 Foi-me dirigida a palavra do Senhor, nestes termos:
2 dummy verses inserted by amos	2 Filho de homem, havia duas mulheres, filhas da mesma mãe.
3 And they committed fornication in Egypt, in their youth they committed fornication: there were their breasts pressed down, and the teats of their virginity were bruised.	3 as quais se prostituíram no Egipto, prostituíram-se na sua mocidade (como povo). Aí lhes apertaram os peitos lhes apalparam o seio virginal.
4 And their names were Oolla the elder, and Ooliba her younger sister: and I took them, and they bore sons and daughters. Now for their names, Samaria is Oolla, and Jerusalem is Ooliba.	4 A mais velha chama-se Oola, e a sua irmã Ooliba. Desposei-me com elas, e deram à luz filhos e filhas. No tocante a seus nomes. Oola é a Samaria, e Ooliba é Jerusalém.
5 And Oolla committed fornication against me, and doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians that came to her,	5 Oola foi-me infiel e apaixonou-se pelos seus amantes os Assírios, seus vizinhos,
6 Who were clothed with blue, princes, and rulers, beautiful youths, all horsemen, mounted upon horses.	6 vestidos de púrpura. governadores e chefes, jovens amáveis, cavaleiros montados a cavalo.
7 And she committed her fornications with those chosen men, all sons of the Assyrians: and she defiled herself with the uncleanness of all them on whom she doted.	7 Dispensou os seus favores amorosos a estes homens escolhidos, filhos todos dos Assírios, e manchou-se com ídolos de todos aqueles de quem loucamente estava enamorada.
8 Moreover also she did not forsake her fornications which she had committed in Egypt: for they also lay with her in her youth, and they bruised the breasts of her virginity, and poured out their fornication upon her.	8 Porém não abandonou as prostituições que tinha tido no Egipto, pois (o Egípcios) dormiram com ela na sua adolescência, apertaram o seu selo virginal, comunicaram-lhe todas as suas impurezas.
9 Therefore have I delivered her into the hands of her lovers, into the hands of the sons of the Assyrians, upon whose lust she doted.	9 Por isso entreguei-a nas mãos dos seus amantes, nas mãos dos filhos de Assur, por quem ardia de paixão.
10 They discovered her disgrace, took away her sons and daughters, and slew her with the sword: and they became infamous women, and they executed judgments in her.	10 Eles descobriram a sua nudez, levaram seus filhos e filhas, e mataram-na a ela própria com a espada. E ela tornou-se famosa entre as mulheres, pelo castigo que lhe foi aplicado.
11 And when her sister Ooliba saw this, she was mad with lust more than she: and she carried her fornication beyond the fornication of her sister.	11 Tendo visto isto, sua irmã Ooliba enlouqueceu de paixão ainda mais do que ela, e as suas prostituições excederam as de sua irmã.
12 Impudently prostituting herself to the children of the Assyrians, the princes, and rulers that came to her, clothed with divers colours, to the horsemen that rode upon horses, and to young men all of great beauty.	12 Prendeu-se de paixão aos Assírios, governadores e chefes, seus vizinhos, magnificamente vestidos, cavaleiros montados nos seus cavalos. todos jovens de belo parecer.
13 And I saw that she was defiled, and that they both took one way.	13 Vi que também se manchava, que ambas seguiam o mesmo caminho,
14 And she increased her fornications: and when she had seen men painted on the wall, the images of the Chaldeans set forth in colours,	14 (Mas Ooliba) foi aumentando sempre a sua luxúria, mais que a outra: tendo visto uns homens pintados na parede, umas imagens dos Caldeus pintadas a mínio.
15 And girded with girdles about their reins, and with dyed turbans on their heads, the resemblance of all the captains, the likeness of the sons of Babylon, and of the land of the Chaldeans wherein they were born,	15 os quais tinham os rins cingidos de talabartes, e tiaras em suas cabeças, parecendo todos oficiais de guerra, dando ares de grandes senhores, representações de filhos de Babilônia, do país dos Caldeus, onde tinham nascido,
16 She doted upon them with the lust of her eyes, and she sent messengers to them into Chaldea.	16 logo ao primeiro olhar concebeu por eles uma paixão louca, e mandou-lhes embaixadores à Caldeia.
17 And when the sons of Babylon were come to her to the bed of love, they defiled her with their fornications, and she was polluted by them, and her soul was glutted with them.	17 E, tendo vindo ter com ela os filhos de Babilônia, ao leito dos seus amores, mancharam-na com as suas Ignomínias, e ela foi por eles corrompida e, ficou farta deles.
18 And she discovered her fornications, and discovered her disgrace: and my soul was alienated from her, as my soul was alienated from her sister.	18 Quando patenteou as suas fornicações e descobriu a sua nudez, retirei-me dela, assim como me tinha retirado de sua irmã.
19 For she multiplied her fornications, remembering the days of her youth, in which she played the harlot in the land of Egypt.	19 Multiplicou as suas prostituições lembrando-se dos dias da sua mocidade, durante os quais se tinha prostituído na terra do Egipto.
20 And she was mad with lust after lying with them whose flesh is as the flesh of asses: and whose issue as the issue of horses.	20 Ardeu em amor por luxuriosos, cujas carnes são como as carnes dos jumentos. e cujo ardor como o ardor dos garanhões.
21 And thou hast renewed the wickedness of thy youth, when thy breasts were pressed in Egypt, and the papa of thy virginity broken.	21 Renovaste as maldades da tua mocidade, quando os Egípcios apertavam os teus peitos, tocavam o teu seio juvenil.
22 Therefore, Ooliba, thus saith the Lord God: Behold I will raise up against thee all thy lovers with whom thy soul hath been glutted: and I will gather them together against thee round about.	22 Por isso. ó Ooliba, isto diz o Senhor Deus: Eis que vou suscitar contra ti os teus amantes, de que te aborreceste, e congregá-los-ei contra ti de todas as partes:
23 The children of Babylon, and all the Chaldeans, the nobles, and the kings, and princes, all the sons of the Assyrians, beautiful young men, all the captains, and rulers, the princes of princes, and the renowned horsemen.	23 os filhos de Babilônia, todos os Caldeus. os de Pecod, de Soa e de Coa. e, com eles, todos os Assirios; jovens de belo parecer, todos os governadores e chefes, capitães e cavaleiros famosos.
24 And they shall come upon thee well appointed with chariot and wheel, a multitude of people: they shall be armed against thee on every side with breastplate, and buckler, and helmet: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee by their judgments.	24 Virão contra ti apetrechados de carros e de rodas, com uma multidão de povos; eles se armarão de todas as partes contra ti de couraças, de escudos e de capacetes. Dar-lhes-ei o poder de te julgar., e eles te julgarão segundo as suas leis.
25 And I will set my jealousy against thee, which they shall execute upon thee with fury: they shall cut off thy nose and thy ears: and what remains shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons, and thy daughters, and thy residue shall be devoured by fire.	25 Desafogarei contra ti o meu zelo; eles tratar-te-ão com furor, cortar-te-ão (ignominiosamente) o nariz e as orelhas; o que restar de ti. retalharão à espada; cativarão os teus filhos e as tuas filhas, e o que restar de ti será -devorado pelo fogo.
26 And they shall strip thee of thy garments, and take away the instruments of thy glory.	26 Eles te despojarão dos teus vestidos, e te roubarão os adornos.
27 And I will put an end to thy wickedness in thee, and thy fornication brought out of the land of Egypt: neither shalt thou lift up thy eyes to them, nor remember Egypt any more.	27 Farei cessar as tuas maldades e prostituições que tinhas aprendido na terra do Egipto; não levantarás mais os olhos para eles, nem te lembrarás mais do Egipto.
28 For thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I will deliver thee into the hands of them whom thou hatest, into their hands with whom thy soul hath been glutted.	28 Porque isto diz o Senhor Deus; Eis que vou entregar-te nas mãos daqueles que aborreces, nas mãos daqueles de que te fartaste.
29 And they shall deal with thee in hatred, and they shall take away all thy labours, and shall let thee go naked, and full of disgrace, and the disgrace of thy fornication shall be discovered, thy wickedness, and thy fornications.	29 Tratar-te-ão com ódio, levarão todos os teus trabalhos e te deixarão nua. cheia de ignomínia, ficando a descoberto a vergonha das tuas impudicícias, infâmias e prostituições.
30 They have done these things to thee, because thou hast played the harlot with the nations among which thou wast defiled with their idols.	30 Eles te tratarão assim, porque te prostituíste às nações entre as quais te manchaste pelo culto dos seus ídolos.
31 Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister, and I will give her cup into thy hand.	31 Andaste pelo mesmo caminho de tua irmã: meterei na tua mão o cálice (de amargura) que ela bebeu.
32 Thus saith the Lord God: Thou shalt drink thy sister's cup, deep, and wide: thou shalt be had in derision and scorn, which containeth very much.	32 Isto diz o Senhor Deus; Beberás o cálice de tua irmã, cálice profundo e largo que dará ocasião ao riso e à mofa, tão grande é a sua capacidade.
33 Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness, and sorrow: with the cup of grief, and sadness, with the cup of thy sister Samaria.	33 Serás cheia de embriaguez e de dor; cálice de pasmo e terror, este cálice de tua irmã Samaria.
34 And thou shalt drink it, and shalt drink it up even to the dregs, and thou shalt devour the fragments thereof, thou shalt rend thy breasts: because I have spoken it, saith the Lord God.	34 Tu o beberás e o esgotarás até às fezes; quebrá-lo-ás com os dentes, e, com os seus pedaços rasgarás os teus seios. Sou eu que o digo oráculo do Senhor Deus.
35 Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Because thou hast forgotten me, and hast cast me off behind thy back, bear thou also thy wickedness, and thy fornications.	35 Portanto isto diz o Senhor Deus: Visto que te esqueceste de mim e me lançaste para trás das costas, carrega tu também com a tua maldade, com as tuas prostituições.
36 And the Lord spoke to me, saying: Son of man, dost thou judge Oolla, and Ooliba, and dost thou declare to them their wicked deeds?	36 O Senhor disse-me; Filho de homem não julgarás tu Oola e Ooliba, não lhes mostrarás as suas maldades?
37 Because they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and they have committed fornication with their idols: moreover also their children, whom they bore to me, they have offered to them to be devoured.	37 Adulteraram e há sangue nas suas mãos; cometeram adultério com os seus ídolos, e, além disto, ofereceram-lhes para serem devorados (pelo Jogo em honra de Moloch) até os filhos que me geraram.
38 Yea, and they have done this to me. They polluted my sanctuary on the same day, and profaned my sabbaths.	38 E ainda fizeram mais contra mim; Mancharam o meu santuário, naquele dia, e profanaram os meus sábados.
39 And when they sacrificed their children to their idols, and went into my sanctuary the same day to profane it: they did these things even in the midst of my house.	39 Quando sacrificavam os seus filhos aos seus ídolos, entravam no meu santuário nesse mesmo dia para o profanarem: eis o que fizeram no meio da minha casa.
40 They sent for men coming from afar, to whom they had sent a messenger: and behold they came: for whom thou didst wash thyself, and didst paint thy eyes, and wast adorned with women's ornaments.	40 Mandaram buscar homens de longe, convidados por um mensageiro, os quais (logo) vieram. Para os receber te lavaste. pintaste os olhos e te adornaste com as tuas galas.
41 Thou sattest on a very fine bed, and a table was decked before thee: whereupon thou didst set my incense, and my ointment.	41 Tu te recostaste sobre um leito magnífico, diante do qual se pôs uma mesa sobre que havias colocado o meu incenso e o meu óleo.
42 And there was in her the voice of a multitude rejoicing: and to some that were brought of the multitude of men, and that came from the desert, they put bracelets on their hands, and beautiful crowns on their heads.	42 À roda dela ouvia-se a voz de muita gente que folgava; e àquela multidão de gente, juntavam-se homens conduzidos do deserto; puseram nas suas mãos braceletes, e formosas coroas sobre as suas cabeças.
43 And I said to her that was worn out in her adulteries: Now will this woman still continue in her fornication.	43 Então disse eu àquela que definhou nos adultérios; Continua ainda esta (prostituta) a entregar-se às suas luxúrias!
44 And they went in to her, as to a harlot: so went they in unto Oolla, and Ooliba, wicked women.	44 Entra-se em sua casa, como em casa duma mulher pública; assim é que entravam em casa destas mulheres perdidas, Oola e Ooliba.
45 They therefore are k just men: these shall judge them as adulteresses are judged, and as shedders of blood are judged: because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.	45 Mas homens justos as julgarão, como se julgam as adúlteras e como se julgam as que derramam o sangue, porque elas são adúlteras, e nas suas mãos há sangue,
46 For thus saith the Lord God: Bring a multitude upon them, and deliver them over to tumult and rapine:	46 Isto diz o Senhor Deus: Faze vir contra estas duas prostitutas uma multidão, para serem entregues ao terror e ao saque.
47 And lee the people stone them with stones, and let them be stabbed with their swords: they shall kill their sons and daughters, and their houses they shall burn with fire.	47 Sejam apedrejadas pelo povo e trespassadas com as suas espadas; matem seus filhos e suas filhas, e ponham fogo às suas casas.
48 And I will take away wickedness out of the land: and all women shall learn, not to do according to the wickedness of them.	48 Assim tirarei da terra a maldade, e todas as mulheres aprenderão a não imitar as vossas torpezas.
49 And they shall render your wickedness upon you, and you shall bear the sins of your idols: and you shall know that I am the Lord God.	49 O castigo de vossas maldades cairá sobre a vossa cabeça, e suportareis o peso dos vossos pecados de idolatria. Assim sabereis que eu sou o Senhor Deus.
