1 Unto the end, corrupt not, a psalm of a canticle for Asaph.	1 Au maître de chant. Sur l’air “ne détruis pas…”. Psaume d’Asaf. Cantique.
2 We will praise thee, O God: we will praise, and we will call upon thy name. We will relate thy wondrous works:	2 Nous voulons, ô Dieu, nous voulons te louer; ceux qui vénèrent ton nom rediront tes merveilles.
3 when I shall take a time, I will judge justices.	3 “Laissez-moi fixer la date, et je ferai le juge, je mettrai la justice.
4 The earth is melted, and all that dwell therein: I have established the pillars thereof.	4 Le monde est bouleversé avec ses habitants, à moi de rétablir ses bases!
5 I said to the wicked: Do not act wickedly: and to the sinners: Lift not up the horn.	5 Je dis aux arrogants: Baissez le ton! Je dis aux mécréants: Vous n’êtes pas les plus forts!
6 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not iniquity against God.	6 Cessez de vous imposer par la force, ne parlez plus de Dieu avec orgueil.”
7 For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the desert hills:	7 Car le voici qui vient: pas de l’orient, ni du couchant, ni du désert, ni des montagnes:
8 for God is the judge. One he putteth down, and another he lifteth up:	8 mais il est là, Dieu, le juge, pour abaisser les uns, élever les autres.
9 for in the hand of the Lord there is a cup of strong wine full of mixture. And he hath poured it out from this to that: but the dregs thereof are not emptied: all the sinners of the earth shall drink.	9 Le Seigneur tient en main la coupe avec son vin drogué, épicé. Il la passe, et les méchants tour à tour la vident, ils en avalent le mélange.
10 But I will declare for ever: I will sing to the God of Jacob.	10 J’ai là de quoi me réjouir, je n’en finirai pas; je chanterai le Dieu de Jacob.
11 And I will break all the horns of sinners: but the horns of the just shall be exalted.	11 Aux méchants, il sciera les cornes, et ce sont les justes qui relèveront la tête.
