Unto the end, a canticle of a psalm of the resurrection. Shout with joy to God, all the earth, | 1 For the leader. A song; a psalm. |
sing ye a psalm to his name; give glory to his praise. | 2 Shout joyfully to God, all you on earth; sing of his glorious name; give him glorious praise. |
Say unto God, How terrible are thy works, O Lord! in the multitude of thy strength thy enemies shall lie to thee. | 3 Say to God: "How awesome your deeds! Before your great strength your enemies cringe. |
Let all the earth adore thee, and sing to thee: let it sing a psalm to thy name. | 4 All on earth fall in worship before you; they sing of you, sing of your name!" Selah |
Come and see the works of God; who is terrible in his counsels over the sons of men. | 5 Come and see the works of God, awesome in the deeds done for us. |
Who turneth the sea into dry land, in the river they shall pass on foot: there shall we rejoice in him. | 6 He changed the sea to dry land; through the river they passed on foot. Therefore let us rejoice in him, |
Who by his power ruleth for ever: his eyes behold the nations; let not them that provoke him he exalted in themselves. | 7 who rules by might forever, Whose eyes are fixed upon the nations. Let no rebel rise to challenge! Selah |
O bless our God, ye Gentiles: and make the voice of his praise to be heard. | 8 Bless our God, you peoples; loudly sound his praise, |
Who hath set my soul to live: and hath not suffered my feet to be moved: | 9 Who has kept us alive and not allowed our feet to slip. |
For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us by fire, as silver is tried. | 10 You tested us, O God, tried us as silver tried by fire. |
Thou hast brought us into a net, thou hast laid afflictions on our back: | 11 You led us into a snare; you bound us at the waist as captives. |
thou hast set men over our heads. We have passed through tire and water, and thou hast brought us out into a refreshment. | 12 You let captors set foot on our neck; we went through fire and water; then you led us out to freedom. |
I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows, | 13 I will bring holocausts to your house; to you I will fulfill my vows, |
which my lips have uttered, And my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble. | 14 The vows my lips pronounced and my mouth spoke in distress. |
I will offer up to thee holocausts full of marrow, with burnt offerings of rams: I will offer to thee bullocks with goats. | 15 Holocausts of fatlings I will offer you and burnt offerings of rams; I will sacrifice oxen and goats. Selah |
Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will tell you what great things he hath done for my soul. | 16 Come and hear, all you who fear God, while I recount what has been done for me. |
I cried to him with my mouth: and I extolled him with my tongue. | 17 I called to the Lord with my mouth; praise was upon my tongue. |
If I have looked at iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. | 18 Had I cherished evil in my heart, the Lord would not have heard. |
Therefore hath God heard me, and hath attended to the voice of my supplication. | 19 But God did hear and listened to my voice in prayer. |
Blessed be God, who hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me. | 20 Blessed be God, who did not refuse me the kindness I sought in prayer. |
