Psalms 1

1 Blessed is the man who hath not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the chair of pestilence.	1 Heureux l'homme qui n'a point marché dans le conseil des impies, qui ne s'est pas arrêté dans la voie des pécheurs, * et qui ne s'est point assis dans la chaire de pestilence;
2 But his will is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he shall meditate day and night.	2 mais qui a ses affections dans la loi du Seigneur, * et qui médite cette loi jour et nuit.
3 And he shall be like a tree which is planted near the running waters, which shall bring forth its fruit, in due season. And his leaf shall not fall off: and all whosoever he shall do shall prosper.	3 Il sera comme un arbre planté près d'un cours d'eau, * et qui donne son fruit en son temps, et son feuillage ne tombera pas; * et tout ce qu'il fera réussira.
4 Not so the wicked, not so: but like the dust, which the wind driveth from the face of the earth.	4 Il n'en est pas ainsi des impies, il n'en est pas ainsi; * mais ils sont comme la poussière que le vent disperse de dessus la surface du sol.
5 Therefore the wicked shall not rise again in judgment: nor sinners in the council of the just.	5 C'est pourquoi les impies ne ressusciteront point dans le jugement, * ni les pécheurs dans l'assemblée des justes.
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the just: and the way of the wicked shall perish.	6 Car le Seigneur connaît la voie des justes, * et le chemin des impies périra.
