1 Eliu also proceeded, and said :	1 И продолжал Елиуй и сказал:
2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee : for I have yet somewhat to speak in God's behalf.	2 подожди меня немного, и я покажу тебе, что я имею еще что сказать за Бога.
3 I will repeat my knowledge from the beginning, and I will prove my Maker just.	3 Начну мои рассуждения издалека и воздам Создателю моему справедливость,
4 For indeed my words are without a lie, and perfect knowledge shall be proved to thee.	4 потому что слова мои точно не ложь: пред тобою--совершенный в познаниях.
5 God doth not cast away the mighty, whereas he himself also is mighty.	5 Вот, Бог могуществен и не презирает сильного крепостью сердца;
6 But he saveth not the wicked, and he giveth judgment to the poor.	6 Он не поддерживает нечестивых и воздает должное угнетенным;
7 He will not take away his eyes from the just, and he placeth kings on the throne for ever, and they are exalted.	7 Он не отвращает очей Своих от праведников, но с царями навсегда посаждает их на престоле, и они возвышаются.
8 And if they shall be in chains, and be bound with the cords of poverty :	8 Если же они окованы цепями и содержатся в узах бедствия,
9 He shall shew them their works, and their wicked deeds, because they have been violent.	9 то Он указывает им на дела их и на беззакония их, потому что умножились,
10 He also shall open their ear, to correct them : and shall speak, that they may return from iniquity.	10 и открывает их ухо для вразумления и говорит им, чтоб они отстали от нечестия.
11 If they shall hear and observe, they shall accomplish their days in good, and their years in glory.	11 Если послушают и будут служить Ему, то проведут дни свои в благополучии и лета свои в радости;
12 But if they hear not, they shall pass by the sword, and shall be consumed in folly.	12 если же не послушают, то погибнут от стрелы и умрут в неразумии.
13 Dissemblers and crafty men prove the wrath of God, neither shall they cry when they are bound.	13 Но лицемеры питают в сердце гнев и не взывают к Нему, когда Он заключает их в узы;
14 Their soul shall die in a storm, and their life among the effeminate.	14 поэтому душа их умирает в молодости и жизнь их с блудниками.
15 He shall deliver the poor out of his distress, and shall open his ear in affliction.	15 Он спасает бедного от беды его и в угнетении открывает ухо его.
16 Therefore he shall set thee at large out of the narrow mouth, and which hath no foundation under it : and the rest of thy table shall be full of fatness.	16 И тебя вывел бы Он из тесноты на простор, где нет стеснения, и поставляемое на стол твой было бы наполнено туком;
17 Thy cause hath been judged as that of the wicked, cause and judgment thou shalt recover.	17 но ты преисполнен суждениями нечестивых: суждение и осуждение--близки.
18 Therefore let not anger overcome thee to oppress any man : neither let multitude of gifts turn thee aside.	18 Да не поразит тебя гнев [Божий] наказанием! Большой выкуп не спасет тебя.
19 Lay down thy greatness without tribulation, and all the mighty of strength.	19 Даст ли Он какую цену твоему богатству? Нет, --ни золоту и никакому сокровищу.
20 Prolong not the night that people may come up for them.	20 Не желай той ночи, когда народы истребляются на своем месте.
21 Beware thou turn not aside to iniquity : for this thou hast begun to follow after misery.	21 Берегись, не склоняйся к нечестию, которое ты предпочел страданию.
22 Behold, God is high in his strength, and none is like him among the lawgivers.	22 Бог высок могуществом Своим, и кто такой, как Он, наставник?
23 Who can search out his ways? or who can say to him : Thou has wrought iniquity?	23 Кто укажет Ему путь Его; кто может сказать: Ты поступаешь несправедливо?
24 Remember that thou knowest not his work, concerning which men have sung.	24 Помни о том, чтобы превозносить дела его, которые люди видят.
25 All men see him, every one beholdeth afar off.	25 Все люди могут видеть их; человек может усматривать их издали.
26 Behold, God is great, exceeding our knowledge : the number of his years is inestimable.	26 Вот, Бог велик, и мы не можем познать Его; число лет Его неисследимо.
27 He lifteth up the drops of rain, and poureth out showers like floods :	27 Он собирает капли воды; они во множестве изливаются дождем:
28 Which flow from the clouds that cover all above.	28 из облаков каплют и изливаются обильно на людей.
29 If he will spread out clouds as his tent,	29 Кто может также постигнуть протяжение облаков, треск шатра Его?
30 And lighten with his light from above, he shall cover also the ends of the sea.	30 Вот, Он распространяет над ним свет Свой и покрывает дно моря.
31 For by these he judgeth people, and giveth food to many mortals.	31 Оттуда Он судит народы, дает пищу в изобилии.
32 In his hands he hideth the light, and commandeth it to come again.	32 Он сокрывает в дланях Своих молнию и повелевает ей, кого разить.
33 He sheweth his friend concerning it, that it is his possession, and that he may come up to it.	33 Треск ее дает знать о ней; скот также чувствует происходящее.
