1 Corintios 12

1 Con relación a los dones espirituales, no quiero, hermanos, que ustedes vivan en la ignorancia.	1 Now concerning spiritual things, I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers.
2 Ustedes saben que cuando todavía eran paganos, se dejaban arrastrar ciegamente al culto de dioses inanimados.	2 You know that when you were Gentiles, you approached mute idols, doing what you were led to do.
3 Por eso les aseguro que nadie, movido por el Espíritu de Dios, puede decir: «Maldito sea Jesús». Y nadie puede decir: «Jesús es el Señor», si no está impulsado por el Espíritu Santo.	3 Because of this, I would have you know that no one speaking in the Spirit of God utters a curse against Jesus. And no one is able to say that Jesus is Lord, except in the Holy Spirit.
4 Ciertamente, hay diversidad de dones, pero todos proceden del mismo Espíritu.	4 Truly, there are diverse graces, but the same Spirit.
5 Hay diversidad de ministerios, pero un solo Señor.	5 And there are diverse ministries, but the same Lord.
6 Hay diversidad de actividades, pero es el mismo Dios el que realiza todo en todos.	6 And there are diverse works, but the same God, who works everything in everyone.
7 En cada uno, el Espíritu se manifiesta para el bien común.	7 However, the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one toward what is beneficial.
8 El Espíritu da a uno la sabiduría para hablar; a otro, la ciencia para enseñar, según el mismo Espíritu;	8 Certainly, to one, through the Spirit, is given words of wisdom; but to another, according to the same Spirit, words of knowledge;
9 a otro, la fe, también el mismo Espíritu. A este se le da el don de curar, siempre en ese único Espíritu;	9 to another, in the same Spirit, faith; to another, in the one Spirit, the gift of healing;
10 a aquel, el don de hacer milagros; a uno, el don de profecía; a otro, el don de juzgar sobre el valor de los dones del Espíritu; a este, el don de lenguas; a aquel, el don de interpretarlas.	10 to another, miraculous works; to another, prophecy; to another, the discernment of spirits; to another, different kinds of languages; to another, the interpretation of words.
11 Pero en todo esto, es el mismo y único Espíritu el que actúa, distribuyendo sus dones a cada uno en particular como él quiere.	11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one according to his will.
12 Así como el cuerpo tiene muchos miembros, y sin embargo, es uno, y estos miembros, a pesar de ser muchos, no forman sino un solo cuerpo, así también sucede con Cristo.	12 For just as the body is one, and yet has many parts, so all the parts of the body, though they are many, are only one body. So also is Christ.
13 Porque todos hemos sido bautizados en un solo Espíritu para formar un solo Cuerpo –judíos y griegos, esclavos y hombres libres– y todos hemos bebido de un mismo Espíritu.	13 And indeed, in one Spirit, we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether servant or free. And we all drank in the one Spirit.
14 El cuerpo no se compone de un solo miembro sino de muchos.	14 For the body, too, is not one part, but many.
15 Si el pie dijera: «Como no soy mano, no formo parte del cuerpo», ¿acaso por eso no seguiría siendo parte de él?	15 If the foot were to say, “Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body,” would it then not be of the body?
16 Y si el oído dijera: «Ya que no soy ojo, no formo parte del cuerpo», ¿acaso dejaría de ser parte de él?	16 And if the ear were to say, “Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body,” would it then not be of the body?
17 Si todo el cuerpo fuera ojo, ¿dónde estaría el oído? Y si todo fuera oído, ¿dónde estaría el olfato?	17 If the whole body were the eye, how would it hear? If the whole were hearing, how would it smell?
18 Pero Dios ha dispuesto a cada uno de los miembros en el cuerpo, según un plan establecido.	18 But instead, God has placed the parts, each one of them, in the body, just as it has pleased him.
19 Porque si todos fueran un solo miembro, ¿dónde estaría el cuerpo?	19 So if they were all one part, how would it be a body?
20 De hecho, hay muchos miembros, pero el cuerpo es uno solo.	20 But instead, there are many parts, indeed, yet one body.
21 El ojo no puede decir a la mano: «No te necesito», ni la cabeza, a los pies: «No tengo necesidad de ustedes».	21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need for your works.” And again, the head cannot say to the feet, “You are of no use to me.”
22 Más aún, los miembros del cuerpo que consideramos más débiles también son necesarios,	22 In fact, so much more necessary are those parts of the body which seem to be weaker.
23 y los que consideramos menos decorosos son los que tratamos más decorosamente. Así nuestros miembros menos dignos son tratados con mayor respeto,	23 And though we consider certain parts of the body to be less noble, we surround these with more abundant dignity, and so, those parts which are less presentable end up with more abundant respect.
24 ya que los otros no necesitan ser tratados de esa manera. Pero Dios dispuso el cuerpo, dando mayor honor a los miembros que más lo necesitan,	24 However, our presentable parts have no such need, since God has tempered the body together, distributing the more abundant honor to that which has the need,
25 a fin de que no haya divisiones en el cuerpo, sino que todos los miembros sean mutuamente solidarios.	25 so that there might be no schism in the body, but instead the parts themselves might take care of one another.
26 ¿Un miembro sufre? Todos los demás sufren con él. ¿Un miembro es enaltecido? Todos los demás participan de su alegría.	26 And so, if one part suffers anything, all the parts suffer with it. Or, if one part finds glory, all the parts rejoice with it.
27 Ustedes son el Cuerpo de Cristo, y cada uno en particular, miembros de ese Cuerpo.	27 Now you are the body of Christ, and parts like any part.
28 En la Iglesia, hay algunos que han sido establecidos por Dios, en primer lugar, como apóstoles; en segundo lugar, como profetas; en tercer lugar, como doctores. Después vienen los que han recibido el don de hacer milagros, el don de curar, el don de socorrer a los necesitados, el don de gobernar y el don de lenguas.	28 And indeed, God has established a certain order in the Church: first Apostles, second Prophets, third Teachers, next miracle-workers, and then the grace of healing, of helping others, of governing, of different kinds of languages, and of the interpretation of words.
29 ¿Acaso todos son apóstoles? ¿Todos profetas? ¿Todos doctores? ¿Todos hacen milagros?	29 Are all Apostles? Are all Prophets? Are all Teachers?
30 ¿Todos tienen el don de curar? ¿Todos tienen el don de lenguas o el don de interpretarlas?	30 Are all workers of miracles? Do all have the grace of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?
31 Ustedes, por su parte, aspiren a los dones más perfectos. Y ahora voy a mostrarles un camino más perfecto todavía.	31 But be zealous for the better charisms. And I reveal to you a yet more excellent way.
