1 Los descendientes de Judá fueron Peres, Jesrón, Carmí, Jur y Sobal.	1 The descendants of Judah were: Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal.
2 Reaías, hijo de Sobal, fue padre de Iájat; Iájat fue padre de Ajumai y de Lahad. Estas son las familias de los soreatitas.	2 Reaiah, the son of Shobal, became the father of Jahath, and Jahath became the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were the clans of the Zorathites.
3 Los descendientes de Etam fueron Izreel, Ismá e Ibdás. Su hermana se llamaba Haslelponí.	3 These were the descendants of Hareph, the father of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash; their sister was named Hazzelelponi.
4 Penuel fue padre de Guedor, y Ezer padre de Jusá. Estos son los hijos de Jur, el primogénito de Efratá, padre de Belén.	4 Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These were the descendants of Hur, the first-born of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.
5 Asjur, padre de Técoa, tuvo dos esposas: Jelá y Naará.	5 Ashhur, the father of Tekoa, had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

9 Pero Iabés fue más célebre que sus hermanos, y su madre le puso el nombre de Iabés, diciendo: «Di a luz con dolor».	9 Jabez was the most distinguished of the brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, "I bore him with pain."
10 Iabés invocó al Dios de Israel, exclamando: «Si me bendices verdaderamente, ensancharás mis fronteras, tu mano estará conmigo y alejarás el mal para que desaparezca mi aflicción». Y Dios le concedió lo que él había pedido.	10 Jabez prayed to the God of Israel: "Oh, that you may truly bless me and extend my boundaries! Help me and make me free of misfortune, without pain!" And God granted his prayer.
11 Quelub, hermano de Sujá, fue padre de Mejir, que fue a su vez padre de Estón.	11 Chelub, the brother of Shuhah, became the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.
12 Estón fue padre de Bet Rafá, de Paseáj, y de Tejiná, el padre de Ir Najás. Estos son los hombres de Recá.	12 Eshton became the father of Bethrapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of the city of Nahash. These were the men of Recah.
13 Los hijos de Quenaz fueron Otniel y Seraías; los hijos de Otniel, Jatat y Meonatai.	13 The sons of Kenaz were Othniel and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel were Hathath and Meonothai;
14 Meonatai fue padre de Ofrá, y Seraías fue padre de Joab, fundador del valle de los Herreros, porque eran herreros.	14 Meonothai became the father of Ophrah. Seraiah became the father of Joab, the father of Geharashim, so called because they were craftsmen.

17 Los hijos de Ezrá fueron Iéter, Méred, Efer y Ialón. Bitía dio a luz a Miriam, a Samai, y a Isbaj, padre de Estemoa.	17 The sons of Ezrah were Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. Jether became the father of Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah, the father of Eshtemoa. (. . . . . .)
18 La mujer de Estemoa, la de Judá, dio a luz a Iéred, padre de Guedor, a Héber, padre de Socó, y a Iecutiel, padre de Zanóaj. Estos son los hijos de Bitía, la hija del Faraón, que Méred había tomado por esposa.	18 His (Mered's) Egyptian wife bore Jered, the father of Gedor, Heber, the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel, the father of Zanoah. These were the sons of Bithiah, the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered married.

His brothers, however, did not have many sons, and as a result all their clans did not equal the number of the Judahites.

41 Los que fueron mencionados por sus nombres, llegaron en tiempos de Ezequías, rey de Judá, y destruyeron los campamentos de los descendientes de Cam y los refugios que allí se encontraban, consagrándolos al exterminio total hasta el día de hoy. Allí se establecieron en lugar de ellos, porque había pasto para sus ganados.	41 They who have just been listed by name set out during the reign of Hezekiah, king of Judah, and attacked the tents of Ham (for Hamites dwelt there formerly) and also the Meunites who were there. They pronounced against them the ban that is still in force and dwelt in their place because they found pasture there for their flocks.
42 Algunos de los hijos de Simeón –quinientos hombres– fueron a la montaña de Seír, siendo sus jefes Pelatías, Nearías, Refaías y Uziel, hijos de Isei;	42 Five hundred of them (the Simeonites) went to Mount Seir under the leadership of Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, sons of Ishi.
43 y después de derrotar al resto de Amalec, que había huido, habitaron allí hasta el día de hoy.	43 They attacked the surviving Amalekites who had escaped, and have resided there to the present day.
