EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Los descendientes de Judá fueron Peres, Jesrón, Carmí, Jur y Sobal.	1 The sons of Juda: Phares, Hesron, and Charmi, and Hur, and Sobal.
2 Reaías, hijo de Sobal, fue padre de Iájat; Iájat fue padre de Ajumai y de Lahad. Estas son las familias de los soreatitas.	2 And Raia the son of Sobal beget Jahath, of whom were born Ahumai, and Laad. These are the families of Sarathi.
3 Los descendientes de Etam fueron Izreel, Ismá e Ibdás. Su hermana se llamaba Haslelponí.	3 And this is the posterity of Etam: Jezrahel, and Jesema, and Jedebos: and the name of their sister was Asalelphuni.
4 Penuel fue padre de Guedor, y Ezer padre de Jusá. Estos son los hijos de Jur, el primogénito de Efratá, padre de Belén.	4 And Phanuel the father of Gedor, and Ezar the father of Hosa, these are the sons of Hur the firstborn of Ephratha the father of Bethlehem.
5 Asjur, padre de Técoa, tuvo dos esposas: Jelá y Naará.	5 And Assur the father of Thecua had two wives, Halaa and Naara:

10 Iabés invocó al Dios de Israel, exclamando: «Si me bendices verdaderamente, ensancharás mis fronteras, tu mano estará conmigo y alejarás el mal para que desaparezca mi aflicción». Y Dios le concedió lo que él había pedido.	10 And Jabes called upon the God of Israel, saying: If blessing thou wilt bless me, and wilt enlarge my borders, and thy hand be with me, and thou save me from being oppressed by evil. And God granted him the things he prayed for.
11 Quelub, hermano de Sujá, fue padre de Mejir, que fue a su vez padre de Estón.	11 And Caleb the brother of Sua beget Mahir, who was the father of Esthon.

14 Meonatai fue padre de Ofrá, y Seraías fue padre de Joab, fundador del valle de los Herreros, porque eran herreros.	14 Maonathi beget Ophra, and Saraia begot Joab the father of the Valley of artificers: for artificers were there.
15 Los hijos de Caleb, hijo de Iefuné, fueron Irú, Elá y Náam. El hijo de Elá fue Quenaz.	15 And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephone, were Hir, and Ela, and Naham. And the sons of Ela: Cenez.
16 Los hijos de Iehalelel fueron Zif, Zifá, Tiriá y Asarel.	16 The sons also of Jaleleel: Ziph, and Zipha, Thiria, and Asrael.
17 Los hijos de Ezrá fueron Iéter, Méred, Efer y Ialón. Bitía dio a luz a Miriam, a Samai, y a Isbaj, padre de Estemoa.	17 And the sons of Esra, Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon, and he beget Mariam, and Sammai, and Jesba the father of Esthamo.

25 El hijo de Saúl fue Salúm; el hijo de Salúm, Mibsam; el hijo de Mibsam, Mismá;	25 Sellum his son, Mapsam his son, Masma his son.
26 el hijo de Mismá, Jamuel; el hijo de Jamuel, Zacur; el hijo de Zacur, Simei.	26 The sons of Masma: Hamuel his son, Zachur his son, Semei his son.
27 Simei tuvo dieciséis hijos y seis hijas; pero sus hermanos no tuvieron muchos hijos, y todos sus clanes no fueron tan numerosos como los descendientes de Judá.	27 The sons of Semei were sixteen, and six daughters: but his brethren had not many sons, and the whole kindred could not reach to the sum of the children of Juda.
28 Ellos habitaban en Berseba, Moladá, Jasar Sual,	28 And they dwelt in Bersabee, and Molada, and Hasarsuhal,
29 Bilhá, Esem, Tolad,	29 And in Bala, and in Asom, and in Tholad,
30 Betuel, Jormá, Siquelag,	30 And in Bathuel, and in Horma, and in Siceleg,
31 Bet Marcabot, Jasar Susím, Bet Birí y Saaraim. Estas fueron sus ciudades hasta el reinado de David.	31 And in Bethmarchaboth, and in Hasarsusim, and in Bethberai, and in Saarim. These were their cities unto the reign of David.
32 Sus poblados fueron Etam, Ain, Rimón, Toquén y Asán –cinco ciudades en total –	32 Their towns also were Etam, and Aen, Remmon, and Thochen, and Asan, five cities.
33 y todos los poblados que están alrededor de aquellas ciudades, hasta Baalat. Allí habitaron y fueron registrados por grupos.	33 And all their villages round about these cities as far as Baal. This was their habitation, and the distribution of their dwellings.
34 Mesobab, Iamlec, Iosá, hijo de Amasías;	34 And Mosabab and Jemlech, and Josa, the son of Amasias,
35 Joel, Jehú, hijo de Iosibías, hijo de Seraías, hijo de Asiel;	35 And Joel, and Jehu the son of Josabia the son of Saraia, the son of Asiel,
36 Elioenai, Iaacobá, Iesojaías, Asaías, Adiel, Iesimiel y Benaías;	36 And Elioenai, and Jacoba, and Isuhaia, and Asaia, and Adiel, and Ismiel, and Banaia,
37 Zizá, hijo de Sifí, hijo de Alón, hijo de Iedaías, hijo de Simrí, hijo de Semaías:	37 Ziza also the son of Sephei the son of Allon the son of Idaia the son of Semri the son of Samaia.
38 todos estos que han sido mencionados por sus nombres, fueron jefes en sus clanes, y sus familias se multiplicaron considerablemente.	38 These were named princes in their kindreds, and in the houses of their families were multiplied exceedingly.
39 Se dirigieron a la entrada de Guerar, hasta el oriente del valle, buscando pastos para sus ganados.	39 And they went forth to enter into Gador as far as to the east side of the valley, to seek pastures for their flocks.
40 Y hallaron pastos abundantes y buenos, y una tierra espaciosa, tranquila y segura, porque antes habían vivido allí los descendientes de Cam.	40 And they found fat pastures, and very good, and a country spacious, and quiet, and fruitful, in which some of the race of Cham had dwelt before.
41 Los que fueron mencionados por sus nombres, llegaron en tiempos de Ezequías, rey de Judá, y destruyeron los campamentos de los descendientes de Cam y los refugios que allí se encontraban, consagrándolos al exterminio total hasta el día de hoy. Allí se establecieron en lugar de ellos, porque había pasto para sus ganados.	41 And these whose names are written above, came in the days of Ezechias king of Juda: and they beat down their tents, and slew the inhabitants that were found there, and utterly destroyed them unto this day: and they dwelt in their place, because they found there fat pastures.
42 Algunos de los hijos de Simeón –quinientos hombres– fueron a la montaña de Seír, siendo sus jefes Pelatías, Nearías, Refaías y Uziel, hijos de Isei;	42 Some also of the children of Simeon, five hundred men, went into mount Seir, having for their captains Phaltias and Naaria and Raphaia and Oziel the sons of Jesi:
43 y después de derrotar al resto de Amalec, que había huido, habitaron allí hasta el día de hoy.	43 And they slew the remnant of the Amalecites, who had been able to escape, and they dwelt there in their stead unto this day.
