1 Les Pharisiens et les Saducéens vinrent trouver Jésus pour le mettre à l’épreuve, ils voulaient qu’il leur montre un signe qui vienne du Ciel.	1 And Pharisees and Sadducees approached him to test him, and they asked him to show them a sign from heaven.
2 Il leur donna cette réponse: "Le soir vous dites: ‘Le temps sera beau car le ciel est bien rouge’;	2 But he responded by saying to them: “When evening arrives, you say, ‘It will be calm, for the sky is red,’
3 et le matin: ‘Aujourd’hui nous aurons de la tempête, car le rouge du ciel n’est pas beau.’ “Vous savez donc interpréter l’aspect du ciel, mais les signes des temps, vous ne le pouvez pas!	3 and in the morning, ‘Today there will be a storm, for the sky is red and gloomy.’ So then, you know how to judge the appearance of the sky, but you are unable to know the signs of the times?
4 Génération mauvaise et adultère! Vous réclamez un signe et vous n’aurez pas de signe: seulement le signe de Jonas.” Jésus les laissa et s’en alla.	4 An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign. And a sign shall not be given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And leaving them behind, he went away.
5 En partant vers l’autre rive, les disciples avaient oublié de prendre avec eux des pains.	5 And when his disciples went across the sea, they forgot to bring bread.
6 À un moment Jésus leur dit: "Ouvrez l’œil et méfiez-vous du levain des Pharisiens et des Saducéens.”	6 And he said to them, “Consider and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”
7 Aussitôt ils se disent: "C’est vrai, nous n’avons pas pris de pain.”	7 But they were thinking within themselves, saying, “It is because we have not brought bread.”
8 Jésus s’en aperçoit et leur dit: "Qu’est-ce qui vous préoccupe: Vous n’avez pas de pain? Vous avez bien peu la foi!	8 Then Jesus, knowing this, said: “Why do you consider within yourselves, O little in faith, that it is because you have no bread?
9 Vous ne comprenez toujours pas, vous ne vous rappelez pas les cinq pains pour les 5 000 hommes et combien de paniers vous avez emportés?	9 Do you not yet understand, nor remember, the five loaves among the five thousand men, and how many containers you took up?
10 Ni les sept pains pour les 4 000 et combien de corbeilles vous avez rapportées?	10 Or the seven loaves among the four thousand men, and how many baskets you took up?
11 “Vous auriez pu penser que je ne vous parlais pas de pain. Je vous disais de vous garder du levain des Pharisiens et des Saducéens.”	11 Why do you not understand that it was not because of bread that I said to you: Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees?”
12 Alors ils comprirent ce que Jésus voulait dire: ils devaient se méfier, non pas du levain, mais de la doctrine des Pharisiens et des Saducéens.	12 Then they understood that he was not saying that they should beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.
13 Jésus était allé dans la région de Césarée de Philippe. Là il posa à ses disciples cette question: "D’après les gens, qui suis-je, qui est le Fils de l’Homme?”	13 Then Jesus went into parts of Caesarea Philippi. And he questioned his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that the Son of man is?”
14 Et ils répondirent: "Pour les uns tu es Jean-Baptiste, pour d’autres Élie, pour d’autres encore Jérémie ou l’un des prophètes.”	14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, and others say Elijah, still others say Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 Jésus leur demanda: "Et vous, qui dites-vous que je suis?”	15 Jesus said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Pierre prit la parole: "Tu es le Messie, le Fils du Dieu vivant!”	16 Simon Peter responded by saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jésus lui fit alors cette déclaration: "Heureux es-tu, Simon Bar-Iona, car ce n’est pas la chair et le sang qui te l’ont révélé, mais mon Père qui est dans les cieux.	17 And in response, Jesus said to him: “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father, who is in heaven.
18 Et moi je te dis: Tu es Pierre et sur cette pierre je bâtirai mon Église, et les forces de mort ne l’emporteront pas sur elle.	18 And I say to you, that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.
19 “Je te donnerai les clés du Royaume des Cieux. Ce que tu lieras ici sur terre sera lié dans le ciel, et ce que tu délieras sur la terre sera délié dans les cieux.”	19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound, even in heaven. And whatever you shall release on earth shall be released, even in heaven.”
20 Alors Jésus donna l’ordre à ses disciples de ne dire à personne qu’il était, lui, le Messie.	20 Then he instructed his disciples that they should tell no one that he is Jesus the Christ.
21 À partir de ce moment Jésus commença à montrer à ses disciples qu’il devait partir pour Jérusalem. Là-bas il aurait à souffrir beaucoup de la part des Anciens, des chefs des prêtres et des maîtres de la Loi. On allait le tuer, mais il devait ressusciter le troisième jour.	21 From that time, Jesus began to reveal to his disciples that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and to suffer much from the elders and the scribes and the leaders of the priests, and to be killed, and to rise again on the third day.
22 Pierre alors le prend à part et commence à lui faire la leçon en disant: "Ne parle pas de malheur, cela ne t’arrivera pas, Seigneur!”	22 And Peter, taking him aside, began to rebuke him, saying, “Lord, may it be far from you; this shall not happen to you.”
23 Mais Jésus se retourne et dit à Pierre: "Passe derrière moi, Satan, voudrais-tu me faire chuter? Ta façon de voir n’est pas celle de Dieu, mais celle des hommes.”	23 And turning away, Jesus said to Peter: “Get behind me, Satan; you are an obstacle to me. For you are not behaving according to what is of God, but according to what is of men.”
24 Jésus dit alors à ses disciples: "Si quelqu’un veut marcher derrière moi, qu’il renonce à lui-même, qu’il prenne sa croix et qu’il me suive.	24 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “If anyone is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 Celui qui veut sauver sa vie la perdra, mais s’il la perd pour moi, il la gagnera.	25 For whoever would save his life, will lose it. But whoever will have lost his life for my sake, shall find it.
26 “Où est le bénéfice si l’on gagne le monde entier mais qu’on se détruit soi-même? Avec quoi va-t-on racheter sa propre vie?	26 For how does it benefit a man, if he gains the whole world, yet truly suffers damage to his soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 “Pensez que le Fils de l’Homme viendra dans la gloire de son Père, entouré de ses anges, et alors il rendra à chacun selon ce qu’il a fait.	27 For the Son of man will arrive in the glory of his Father, with his Angels. And then he will repay each one according to his works.
28 En vérité, je vous le dis, certains qui sont ici ne feront pas l’expérience de la mort avant d’avoir vu la royauté et la venue du Fils de l’Homme.”	28 Amen I say to you, there are some among those standing here, who shall not taste death, until they see the Son of man arriving in his reign.”
