1 Yahvé dit à Moïse:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 “Voici ce que tu diras aux Israélites: si un Israélite, ou l’un des étrangers qui habitent en Israël, livre à Molok l’un de ses enfants, il sera puni de mort. Le peuple du pays le lapidera.	2 You shall speak these things to the sons of Israel: A man among the sons Israel, or among the newcomers who live in Israel, if he will have given from his seed to the idol Moloch, he shall be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him.
3 Je m’en prendrai à cet homme et je le retrancherai du milieu de son peuple, car, en livrant à Molok l’un de ses enfants, il a souillé mon sanctuaire et profané mon saint Nom.	3 And I will set my face against him. And I will cut him down from the midst of his people, because he has given from his seed to Moloch, and he has contaminated my Sanctuary, and polluted my holy name.
4 Si le peuple du pays ferme les yeux lorsque cet homme donne ses enfants à Molok et mérite ainsi la mort,	4 But if the people of the land, having been neglectful and holding little regard for my authority, release the man who has given from his seed to Moloch, and they are not willing to kill him,
5 je m’en prendrai, moi, à cet homme et à sa famille. Je le retrancherai du milieu de son peuple avec tous ceux qui comme lui se vendent à Molok.	5 I will set my face over that man and over his kindred, and I will cut down both him and all who consented with him to fornicate with Moloch, from the midst of their people.
6 Si quelqu’un s’adresse à ceux qui évoquent les esprits et aux sorciers pour se prostituer avec eux, je m’en prendrai à cet homme et je le retrancherai du milieu de son peuple.	6 The soul who will have turned aside to astrologers and soothsayers, and who will have fornicated with them, I will set my face against him, and I will destroy him from the midst of his people.
7 Vous vous sanctifierez, vous serez saints, car je suis Yahvé votre Dieu.	7 Be sanctified and be holy, for I am the Lord your God.
8 Vous observerez mes lois et vous les mettrez en pratique. Je suis Yahvé! C’est moi qui vous rends saints!	8 Observe my precepts, and do them. I am the Lord, who sanctifies you.
9 Celui qui maudira son père ou sa mère sera puni de mort: il a maudit son père ou sa mère, il a voulu sa propre mort.	9 Whoever curses his father or mother shall die a death; he has cursed his father and mother. So let his blood be upon him.
10 Si un homme commet l’adultère avec une femme mariée, s’il commet l’adultère avec la femme de son prochain: tous deux seront punis de mort, l’homme, et la femme adultère.	10 If anyone will have committed sexual acts with the wife of another, or will have perpetrated adultery with his neighbor’s spouse, they shall die a death, both the adulterer and the adulteress.
11 Si un homme couche avec la femme de son père, ils seront tous deux punis de mort: ils ont voulu leur propre mort.	11 Whoever will have slept with his stepmother, or will have uncovered the shame of his father, they shall both die a death. So let their blood be upon them.
12 Si un homme couche avec sa belle-fille: ils seront tous deux punis de mort, ils ont fait un acte honteux, ils ont voulu leur propre mort.	12 If any man will have slept with his daughter-in-law, both shall die, for they have acted according to wickedness. So let their blood be upon them.
13 Si un homme couche avec un autre homme comme on couche avec une femme, c’est un acte abominable; ils seront punis de mort et ils seront responsables de leur mort.	13 If any man has slept with a male in place of sexual intercourse with a female, both have committed a nefarious act, they shall die a death. So let their blood be upon them.
14 Si un homme prend pour femmes, et la fille et la mère, c’est un crime! On les livrera au feu, lui et elles, pour que l’on ne voie plus jamais cela chez vous.	14 If any man, having taken the daughter as a wife, will have married her mother, he has acted according to wickedness. He shall be burnt alive with them. Neither shall so great a nefarious act persist in your midst.
15 L’homme qui aura eu des rapports avec une bête sera puni de mort, et vous tuerez aussi la bête.	15 Whoever will have committed sexual acts with any animal or cattle, he shall die a death. Likewise, you shall slay the beast.
16 Si une femme s’approche d’une bête pour avoir des rapports avec elle, tu feras périr la femme et la bête. Elles seront mises à mort et elles seront responsables de leur mort.	16 The woman who will have lain under any animal at all shall be destroyed together with it. So let their blood be upon them.
17 Si un homme prend sa sœur, qu’elle soit la fille de son père ou la fille de sa mère, et ils ont des rapports sexuels, c’est un crime! Il sera retranché sous les yeux des enfants de son peuple. Il a découvert la nudité de sa sœur, il portera le poids de son péché.	17 Whoever will have taken his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother, and will have seen her nakedness, and she will have looked upon her brother’s shame, they have committed a nefarious act. They shall be slain in the sight of their people, because they have uncovered one another’s nakedness. And they shall bear their iniquity.
18 Si un homme couche avec une femme durant la période de ses règles et découvre sa nudité, il a profané son propre écoulement et le flux de sang de la femme. Ils seront tous deux retranchés du milieu de leur peuple.	18 Whoever has sexual intercourse with a woman in her menstrual flow, and has uncovered her nakedness, and she has opened the fountain of her blood, both shall be destroyed from the midst of their people.
19 Tu ne découvriras pas la nudité de la sœur de ta mère, ou de la sœur de ton père, car ils sont ta propre chair. Les coupables porteront le poids de leur péché.	19 You shall not expose the nakedness of your maternal or paternal aunt. Whoever does this has laid bare the shame of his own flesh; both shall bear their iniquity.
20 Si un homme couche avec sa tante, il profane la chair de son oncle. Ils porteront le poids de leur péché et mourront sans enfants.	20 If any man has had sexual intercourse with the wife of his paternal or maternal uncle, and he has uncovered the shame of his close relative, both shall bear their sin. They shall die without children.
21 Si un homme prend la femme de son frère, c’est une faute. Comme il a profané la chair de son frère, ils seront sans enfants.	21 Whoever will have married his brother’s wife has done an unlawful thing; he has uncovered his brother’s nakedness. They shall be without children.
22 Vous observerez toutes mes lois et tous mes commandements, et vous les mettrez en pratique. Ainsi le pays dans lequel je vous ai conduits pour y habiter ne vous rejettera pas.	22 Observe my laws as well as my judgments, and act according to them, lest the land, into which you will enter and live, may vomit you out, too.
23 Vous ne suivrez pas les pratiques des nations que je vais chasser devant vous, car c’est à cause de ces pratiques que je les ai en horreur.	23 Do not be willing to walk by the ordinances of the nations, which I will expel before you. For they have done all these things, and so I abominate them.
24 Je vous l’ai dit: Vous posséderez leur pays, je vous donnerai cette terre où coulent le lait et le miel pour qu’elle soit vôtre: je suis Yahvé votre Dieu qui vous ai mis à part des autres peuples!	24 But I say to you: Possess their land, which I will give to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the Lord your God, who has separated you from the other peoples.
25 Vous ferez la différence entre les animaux purs et impurs; entre les oiseaux purs et impurs. Je vous ai appris à reconnaître les animaux, les oiseaux et tous les êtres vivants impurs; ainsi vous ne vous rendrez pas impurs à cause d’eux.	25 Therefore, you must also separate the clean animals from the unclean, and the clean birds from the unclean. Do not pollute your souls with cattle, or birds, or anything that moves upon the earth, and which I have shown you to be unclean.
26 Vous serez saints pour moi, car je suis saint, moi Yahvé qui vous ai mis à part des autres peuples pour que vous soyez à moi.	26 You shall be holy unto me, because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have separated you from the other peoples, so that you would be mine.
27 Tout homme et toute femme qui évoquent les esprits ou se livrent à la sorcellerie seront mis à mort. On les lapidera, ils seront responsables de leur mort.”	27 A man or a woman, in whom there is an oracle-like or a divining spirit, shall be put to death. They shall stone them. So let their blood be upon them.
