1 Yahvé dit à Moïse:	1 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 “Voici ce que tu diras à la communauté d’Israël: Soyez saints, car moi, Yahvé votre Dieu, je suis saint!	2 Speak to the entire assembly of the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them: Be holy, for I, the Lord your God, am holy.
3 Chacun respectera sa mère et son père, et vous observerez mes sabbats: je suis Yahvé votre Dieu!	3 Let each one fear his father and his mother. Observe my Sabbaths. I am the Lord your God.
4 Vous ne vous tournerez pas vers les idoles, vous ne vous fabriquerez pas des dieux en métal fondu: je suis Yahvé votre Dieu!	4 Do not be willing to convert to idols, neither should you make molten gods for yourselves. I am the Lord your God.
5 Lorsque vous offrirez un sacrifice de communion en l’honneur de Yahvé, vous le ferez de manière à lui être agréable.	5 If you immolate a victim of peace offerings to the Lord, so that he may be appeased,
6 Vous mangerez de votre sacrifice le jour même et le lendemain, mais ce qui restera le troisième jour sera brûlé.	6 you shall eat it on the same day as when it was immolated, and the next day. Then whatever will remain on the third day you shall burn with fire.
7 Si quelqu’un en mange le troisième jour, c’est un acte abominable: son sacrifice ne sera pas agréé.	7 If anyone, after two days, will have eaten from it, he shall be profane and guilty of impiety.
8 Celui qui en mangera répondra de sa faute, car il a profané ce qui est consacré à Yahvé: cet homme sera retranché de son peuple.”	8 And he shall bear his iniquity, for he has polluted what is holy to the Lord. And that soul shall perish from his people.
9 “Quand viendra le temps de moissonner vos terres, tu ne moissonneras pas jusqu’à la limite de ton champ et tu ne ramasseras pas ce qui peut être glané de ta moisson.	9 When you will have harvested the grain fields of your land, you shall not cut it down to the surface of the land, even to the ground, nor shall you gather the remaining ears of grain.
10 Tu ne cueilleras pas non plus les grappes restées sur ta vigne et tu ne ramasseras pas les fruits tombés dans ton verger. Tu les laisseras pour le pauvre et l’étranger: je suis Yahvé ton Dieu!	10 Neither shall you gather the clusters or individual grapes which fall down in your vineyard, but you shall leave them for paupers and travelers to take. I am the Lord your God.
11 Vous ne volerez pas, vous ne tromperez pas votre prochain, vous ne mentirez pas.	11 You shall not steal. You shall not lie. Neither shall anyone deceive his neighbor.
12 Vous ne jurerez pas par mon nom pour appuyer un mensonge: ce serait profaner le nom de ton Dieu: je suis Yahvé!	12 You shall not commit perjury in my name, nor shall you pollute the name of your God. I am the Lord.
13 Tu n’opprimeras pas ton prochain, tu ne le dépouilleras pas; le salaire de celui qui travaille pour toi ne restera pas chez toi jusqu’au lendemain.	13 You shall not slander your neighbor, nor shall you oppress him by violence. The wages of a hired hand, you shall not delay with you until tomorrow.
14 Tu ne prononceras pas de malédiction contre un sourd, tu ne mettras pas d’obstacle devant un aveugle pour le faire tomber; mais tu auras la crainte de ton Dieu: je suis Yahvé!	14 You shall not speak evil of the deaf, nor shall you place a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall fear the Lord your God, for I am the Lord.
15 Vous ne commettrez pas d’injustice dans les jugements. Tu ne feras pas de faveur au pauvre, tu ne feras pas d’honneur au puissant, mais tu jugeras ton prochain avec justice.	15 You shall not do what is unjust, nor shall you judge unjustly. You shall not consider the reputation of the poor, nor shall you honor the countenance of the powerful. Judge your neighbor justly.
16 Tu ne calomnieras pas tes parents, tu n’exigeras pas le sang de ton prochain: je suis Yahvé!	16 You shall not be a detractor, nor a whisperer, among the people. You shall not stand against the blood of your neighbor. I am the Lord.
17 Tu n’auras pas de haine dans ton cœur pour ton frère, mais tu le corrigeras, car en te taisant tu serais complice de son péché.	17 You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but reprove him openly, lest you have sin over him.
18 Tu ne te vengeras pas, tu ne garderas pas de rancune envers un fils de ton peuple, mais tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même: je suis Yahvé!	18 Do not seek revenge, neither should you be mindful of the injury of your fellow citizens. You shall love your friend as yourself. I am the Lord.
19 Vous observerez mes coutumes: tu n’accoupleras pas deux bêtes d’espèces différentes; tu ne sèmeras pas dans ton champ deux graines d’espèces différentes; tu ne porteras pas de vêtement tissé de deux espèces de fil différentes.	19 Observe my laws. You shall not cause your cattle to breed with other kinds of animals. You shall not sow your field with diverse seeds. You shall not be clothed with a garment which has been woven from two things.
20 Si un homme a des rapports avec une esclave déjà fiancée à un autre homme, mais qui n’a été ni rachetée ni affranchie, ils seront châtiés tous les deux mais non punis de mort, car la femme n’était pas affranchie.	20 If a man will have slept in sexual intercourse with a woman, who is a servant and who is also able to be married, and yet he has not redeemed her with a price, nor paid to set her free, they both shall be beaten, but they shall not die, for she was not a free woman.
21 Pour sa faute, l’homme amènera à Yahvé, devant la Tente du Rendez-Vous, un bélier pour le sacrifice d’expiation.	21 But, for his offense, he shall offer a ram to the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony.
22 Le prêtre offrira le bélier et fera pour lui l’expiation devant Yahvé pour le péché qu’il a commis, et son péché lui sera pardonné.	22 And the priest shall pray for him, and for his sin, before the Lord, and he shall win his favor again for him, and the sin shall be forgiven.
23 Quand vous serez entrés dans le pays et que vous aurez planté toutes sortes d’arbres fruitiers, vous regarderez les fruits comme incirconcis: les trois premières années vous n’en mangerez point.	23 When you will have entered into the land, and will have planted in it fruit trees, you shall take away their first-fruits; the fruit that germinates shall be unclean to you, neither shall you eat from these.
24 La quatrième année, tous les fruits seront consacrés à Yahvé.	24 But in the fourth year, all their fruit shall be sanctified for the praise of the Lord.
25 À partir de la cinquième année vous mangerez les fruits de l’arbre car ils seront désormais pour vous: je suis Yahvé votre Dieu!	25 And in the fifth year you shall eat the produce, gathering the fruits which are brought forth. I am the Lord your God.
26 Vous ne mangerez rien avec le sang, vous ne pratiquerez ni sorcellerie, ni magie.	26 You shall not eat with blood. You shall not practice divination, nor the observation of dreams.
27 Vous ne tondrez pas en rond les cheveux de votre tête et vous ne couperez pas les coins de votre barbe.	27 And you shall not cut the hair of your head circularly, nor shave your beard.
28 Vous ne vous ferez pas d’incision sur le corps pour un mort et vous ne vous ferez pas d’inscription ou de tatouage sur le corps: je suis Yahvé!	28 You shall not cut your flesh for the dead, and you shall not make other figures or marks on yourself. I am the Lord.
29 Ne livre pas ta fille à la prostitution, sinon vous aurez un pays de prostituées, un réservoir de crimes.	29 Do not prostitute your daughter, lest the land be contaminated and filled with crimes.
30 Vous observerez mes sabbats et vous aurez du respect pour ma Demeure: je suis Yahvé!	30 Observe my Sabbaths, and be apprehensive toward my Sanctuary. I am the Lord.
31 Ne vous tournez pas vers ceux qui évoquent les esprits, vers les sorciers. Ne les consultez pas, ne vous souillez pas avec eux: je suis Yahvé votre Dieu!	31 Do not turn aside to astrologers, nor consult with soothsayers, so as to be polluted through them. I am the Lord your God.
32 Tu te lèveras devant une personne âgée et tu honoreras le vieillard, ce sera ta façon de craindre ton Dieu: je suis Yahvé!	32 Rise up in the presence of a gray-haired head, and honor the reputation of an elder, and fear the Lord your God. I am the Lord.
33 Si un étranger vient habiter dans votre pays, vous ne l’opprimerez pas.	33 If a newcomer lives in your land and abides among you, do not reproach him,
34 Vous traiterez l’étranger qui est au milieu de vous comme un homme du pays. Tu l’aimeras comme toi-même, car vous aussi vous avez été étrangers dans le pays d’Égypte: je suis Yahvé votre Dieu!	34 but let him be among you like one native born. And you shall love him as yourselves. For you were also newcomers in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.
35 Vous ne commettrez pas d’injustice, ni dans vos sentences, ni dans les mesures, ni dans les poids, ni dans les contenances.	35 Do not be willing to accomplish iniquity in judgment, in lengths, in weights, in quantities.
36 Vos balances seront justes, vos poids seront justes, toutes vos mesures seront justes. Je suis Yahvé votre Dieu, qui vous ai fait sortir du pays d’Égypte.	36 Let the scales be just and the weights equal, let the dry measure be just and the liquid measure be equal. I am the Lord your God, who led you away from the land of Egypt.
37 Vous observerez donc toutes mes coutumes et tous mes commandements, et vous les mettrez en pratique: je suis Yahvé!”	37 Keep all my precepts, and all my judgments, and accomplish them. I am the Lord.
