1 Yahvé me dit: “Trouve un sceau bien large, et grave dessus au poinçon ce prénom: ‘Ramassage-immédiat, Pillage-tout-proche.’	1 And the Lord said to me: “Take up for yourself a large book, and with a man’s pen write in it: ‘Take away the spoils quickly; plunder swiftly.’ ”
2 Prends-moi ensuite comme témoins deux hommes de confiance: le prêtre Ouriya et Zékaryas, fils de Yébérekyas.”	2 And I summoned to myself faithful witnesses: Uriah, the priest, and Zechariah, the son of Berechiah.
3 Alors je me suis approché de la prophétesse. Elle est tombée enceinte et elle a enfanté un fils. Yahvé me dit: “Appelle-le: ‘Ramassage-immédiat, Pillage-tout-proche’.	3 And I joined with the prophetess, and she conceived and gave birth to a son. And the Lord said to me: “Call his name: ‘Rush to take away the spoils; Hurry to be plundered.’
4 Car avant que l’enfant ne sache dire: Papa et Maman, on apportera au roi d’Assyrie les trésors de Damas et le butin de Samarie.”	4 For before the boy knows how to call to his father and his mother, the strength of Damascus and the spoils of Samaria will be taken away, in the sight of the king of the Assyrians.”
5 Yahvé me parla de nouveau. Il me dit:	5 And the Lord spoke to me further, saying:
6 “Puisque ce peuple a méprisé les eaux de Siloé qui coulent en douceur, et qu’il a tremblé devant Razone et le fils de Rémalyas,	6 “Because this people has cast aside the waters of Shiloah, which go forth silently, and has instead chosen Rezin and the son of Remaliah,
7 le Seigneur va faire venir sur eux les eaux d’un fleuve puissant et profond: le roi d’Assyrie et tout son monde. Le voici qui déborde de son lit et se répand au-delà de ses rives.	7 for this reason, behold, the Lord will lead over them the waters of a river, strong and plentiful: the king of the Assyrians with all his glory. And he will rise up throughout all his streams, and he will overflow all his banks.
8 Il passe en Juda comme l’inondation qui vient, qui s’étend et qui monte jusqu’au cou; de ses ailes déployées il recouvre tout ton pays, Emmanuel!”	8 And he will pass through Judah, inundating it, and he will cross over and arrive, even at its neck. And he will extend his wings, filling the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.”
9 Apprenez-le, peuples: vous serez brisés! Sachez-le bien vous tous au bout du monde: allez-y, vous serez brisés! allez-y, vous serez brisés!	9 O people, gather together, and be conquered! All distant lands, listen! Be strengthened, and be conquered! Gird yourselves, and be conquered!
10 Faites un projet, il sera réduit à rien, dites une parole, elle ne se réalisera pas, car Dieu est avec nous!	10 Undertake a plan, and it will be dissipated! Speak a word, and it will not be done! For God is with us.
11 Lorsque Yahvé m’a empoigné de sa main, il m’a averti de ne pas suivre le chemin de ce peuple. Il m’a dit alors:	11 For the Lord said this to me, and he has instructed this to me with a strong hand, lest I go forth in the way of this people, saying:
12 “Vous ne crierez pas au complot chaque fois que ce peuple criera au complot. Vous ne craindrez pas lorsqu’il craindra, vous ne tremblerez pas.	12 “You should not say ‘It is conspiracy!’ For all that this people speaks is a conspiracy. And you should be frightened or alarmed with their fear.
13 C’est Yahvé Sabaot que vous traiterez comme le Saint; c’est lui que vous craindrez, c’est devant lui que vous tremblerez.	13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself. Let him be your dread, and let him be your fear.
14 Il sera pour les deux maisons d’Israël un Sanctuaire, mais aussi la pierre sur laquelle on achoppe, un rocher qui fait tomber, un filet et un piège pour les habitants de Jérusalem.	14 And so shall he be a sanctification to you. But he will be a stone of offense and a rock of scandal to the two houses of Israel, and a snare and a ruin to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 Beaucoup d’entre eux trébucheront, ils tomberont et seront écrasés, ils seront pris au piège et seront attrapés.	15 And very many of them will stumble and fall, and they will be broken and entangled and seized.
16 Maintenant, confie cette parole à mes disciples comme une révélation sous scellés.”	16 Bind the testimony, seal the law, among my disciples.”
17 Moi, j’attends Yahvé qui cache son visage au peuple de Jacob, je mets en lui mon espérance.	17 And I will wait for the Lord, who has concealed his face from the house of Jacob, and I will stand before him.
18 Moi et les enfants que Yahvé m’a donnés, nous sommes pour Israël des signes et des avertissements, de la part de Yahvé Sabaot qui habite sur le mont de Sion.	18 Behold: I and my children, whom the Lord has given to me as a sign and a portent, in Israel, from the Lord of hosts, who lives on Mount Zion.
19 Et si l’on vous dit: “Allez consulter les magiciens et les sorciers qui murmurent et qui chuchotent”, répondez: “Bien sûr, un peuple doit consulter ses dieux! Allez donc consulter des morts en faveur des vivants!”	19 And though they say to you, “Seek from seers and diviners,” they who hiss in their incantations, should not the people seek from their God, for the sake of the living, and not from the dead?
20 Revenez donc à ce que Lui enseigne et affirme, comme c’est le cas pour cette parole: là il n’y a pas de nuit.	20 And this is, moreover, for the sake of the law and the testimony. But if they do not speak according to this Word, then he will not have the morning light.
21 Épuisé et affamé, il traversera le pays, la faim le rendra furieux, il maudira son roi et son Dieu! Il se tournera vers le ciel,	21 And he will pass by it; he will fall and become hungry. And when he is hungry, he will become angry, and he will speak evil against his king and his God, and he will lift himself upward.
22 puis il regardera vers la terre. Partout il ne verra que détresse et ténèbres, la nuit redoutable et l’obscurité angoissante.	22 And he will gaze downward to the earth, and behold: tribulation and darkness, dissolution and distress, and a pursuing gloom. For he will not be able to fly away from its distress.
23 Mais là où se trouvait l’angoisse, la nuit disparaîtra. Dans le passé, il a réduit à rien le pays de Zabulon et le pays de Nephtali, mais dans l’avenir il couvrira de gloire la route de la mer, au-delà du Jourdain, la province des païens.
