1 16:2 Comme des oiseaux errants, qu’on a chassés du nid les filles de Moab s’arrêtent aux gués de l’Arnon.	1 O Lord, send forth the Lamb, the Ruler of the earth, from the Rock of the desert to the mountain of the daughter of Zion.
2 16:1De Séla, proche du désert, on envoie les agneaux au mont de la fille de Sion: ne sont-ils pas seigneurs du pays?	2 And this shall be: like a bird fleeing away, and like fledglings flying from the nest, so will the daughters of Moab be at the passage of Arnon.
3 On leur fait dire: Tenez un conseil, prenez une décision: que même en plein midi ton ombre vaille celle de la nuit, cache les exilés, ne trahis pas les fugitifs.	3 Form a plan. Call a council. Let your shadow be as if it were night, even at midday. Conceal the fugitives, and do not betray the wanderers.
4 Que les exilés de Moab puissent se réfugier chez toi, sois leur asile face au pillard, le temps que disparaisse l’oppresseur que la destruction prenne fin et que celui qui piétine abandonne le pays,	4 My fugitives will live with you. Become a hiding place, O Moab, from the face of the destroyer. For the dust is at its end; the miserable one has been consumed. He who trampled the earth has failed.
5 (Oui, le trône sera rétabli, stable grâce à l’esprit de bonté. Un chef aimant le droit, passionné de justice, siégera sur ce trône en toute loyauté dans la tente de David.)	5 And a throne will be prepared in mercy, and One shall sit upon it in truth, in the tabernacle of David, judging and seeking judgment, and quickly repaying what is just.
6 Nous en savons assez sur l’orgueil de Moab, du très orgueilleux Moab, sur ses prétentions, son insolence, sa fierté et ses bavardages qui ne mènent à rien.	6 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud. His pride and his arrogance and his indignation is more than his strength.
7 Laissons Moab se lamenter sur Moab, laissons le pays à ses pleurs. Abattus, vous gémissez, vous regrettez vos gâteaux de raisins de Kir-Ha-Résset.	7 For this reason, Moab will wail to Moab; each one will wail. Speak of their wounds to those who rejoice upon the brick walls.
8 Les vignobles de Heshbon se flétrissent, les rois des nations ont saccagé les beaux raisins des vignes de Sibma. Elles s’étendaient jadis jusqu’à Yazer, elles s’avançaient jusqu’au désert, leurs rejetons s’allongeaient au-delà de la mer.	8 For the suburbs of Heshbon are deserted, and the lords of the Gentiles have cut down the vineyard of Sibmah. Its vines have arrived even at Jazer. They have wandered in the desert. Its seedlings have been abandoned. They have crossed over the sea.
9 C’est pourquoi je prends part au deuil de Yazer, pour ses vignes de Sibma. Je verse sur vous mes larmes, Heshbon, Éléalé. Car on n’entend plus le chant du paysan ni sur ta récolte, ni sur ta moisson.	9 I will weep with the tears of Jazer over this, the vineyard of Sibmah. I will inebriate you with my tears, Heshbon and Elealeh! For the sound of those who trample has rushed over your vintage and over your harvest.
10 La joie et la fête ont disparu de tes vergers: plus un chant, plus une clameur dans tes vignes! Nul déjà ne foule le raisin dans tes cuves, c’est fini de leurs cris joyeux.	10 And so, rejoicing and exultation will be taken away from Carmel, and there will be no jubilation or exultation in the vineyards. He who was accustomed to tread will not tread out the wine in the winepress. I have taken away the sound of those who tread.
11 Voilà pourquoi, pensant à Moab, je sens mes intérieurs vibrer comme une harpe et mon cœur en moi frémit pour Kir-Hérès.	11 Over this, my heart will resonate like a harp for Moab, and my inner most being for the brick wall.
12 Moab peut venir et s’agiter sur le haut-lieu, entrer dans son temple pour prier, cela ne changera rien.	12 And this shall be: when it is seen that Moab has struggled upon his high places, he will enter his holy places to pray, but he will not prevail.
13 C’est là la parole que Yahvé prononça jadis au sujet de Moab.	13 This is the word that the Lord has spoken to Moab concerning that time.
14 Et maintenant Yahvé dit ceci: Encore trois années comptées comme celles d’un salarié, et toute la gloire de Moab, de ce peuple nombreux, sera par terre; ce qui en restera sera peu de chose et de peu de valeur.	14 And now the Lord has spoken, saying: In three years, like the years of a hired hand, the glory of Moab concerning the entire multitude of the people will be taken away, and what is left behind will be small and weak and not so numerous.
