1 Alors Dieu se souvint de Noé, de toutes les bêtes et tous les animaux des champs qui étaient avec lui dans l’arche. Dieu fit souffler un vent qui assécha la terre et les eaux se retirèrent.	1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;
2 Les fontaines du fond de la mer et les écluses du ciel se fermèrent, la pluie s’arrêta de tomber.	2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;
3 Les eaux se retirèrent de sur la terre avec des flux et des reflux; elles baissèrent dès la fin des 150 jours.	3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.
4 Au dix-septième jour du septième mois, l’arche se posa sur le mont Ararat.	4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
5 Les eaux continuèrent de baisser jusqu’au dixième mois, et le premier jour du dixième mois les sommets des montagnes apparurent.	5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.
6 Au bout de quarante jours, Noé ouvrit la fenêtre qu’il avait faite dans l’arche	6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:
7 et il lâcha le corbeau qui commença d’aller et venir jusqu’à ce que les eaux aient disparu de la terre.	7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
8 Noé lâcha ensuite la colombe pour voir si les eaux avaient baissé à la surface de la terre.	8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;
9 Mais la colombe ne trouva pas d’endroit pour poser ses pattes, et elle revint vers lui dans l’arche, car les eaux couvraient encore la surface de la terre. Noé étendit la main, prit la colombe et la ramena vers lui dans l’arche.	9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
10 Il attendit encore sept autres jours et, de nouveau, il lâcha la colombe hors de l’arche.	10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;
11 La colombe revint vers lui à l’heure du soir, et voici qu’elle tenait dans son bec une petite branche d’olivier toute fraîche. Alors Noé comprit que les eaux avaient baissé sur la terre.	11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
12 Il attendit encore sept autres jours et lâcha la colombe, mais elle ne revint plus vers lui.	12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.
13 En l’an 601 de la vie de Noé, le premier jour du premier mois, les eaux avaient séché sur la terre. Noé souleva le toit de l’arche et regarda: il vit que la surface du sol était sèche.	13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.
14 Le vingt-septième jour du deuxième mois, la terre était complètement sèche.	14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.
15 Alors Dieu s’adressa à Noé et lui dit:	15 And God spake unto Noah, saying,
16 “Sors de l’arche, toi, ta femme, tes fils, et les femmes de tes fils avec toi.	16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.
17 Fais sortir tous les animaux qui sont avec toi: oiseaux, animaux des champs et tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre. Qu’ils soient féconds et nombreux sur la terre!”	17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.
18 Noé sortit alors avec ses fils, sa femme et les femmes de ses fils.	18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him:
19 Tous les animaux, tous les oiseaux, tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre sortirent aussi de l’arche, famille par famille.	19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.
20 Noé construisit un autel en l’honneur de Yahvé; il prit de tous les animaux purs et de tous les oiseaux purs et il en offrit un sacrifice par le feu sur cet autel.	20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 Yahvé sentit la bonne odeur et il dit en son cœur: “Je ne maudirai plus jamais la terre à cause de l’homme, car les pensées du cœur de l’homme sont mauvaises dès sa jeunesse, je ne recommencerai plus à frapper les êtres vivants comme je l’ai fait.	21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
22 Aussi longtemps que la terre durera, semailles et moissons, gelées et chaleur, été, hiver, jour et nuit, ne cesseront plus.”	22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
