Psalms 75

1 For the leader. Do not destroy! A psalm of Asaph; a song.	1 Per il capocoro. Non distruggere. Salmo. Di Asaf. Canto.
2 We thank you, God, we give thanks; we call upon your name, declare your wonderful deeds. You said:	2 Diamo lode a te, o Dio, diamo lode al tuo nome e narriamo le tue meraviglie.
3 "I will choose the time; I will judge fairly.	3 «Infatti, io fisso un termine vicino; proprio io giudicherò con giustizia.
4 The earth and all its inhabitants will quake, but I have firmly set its pillars." Selah	4 Dovessero struggersi la terra e tutti i suoi abitanti, io ne ho rafforzato le colonne».
5 So I say to the boastful: "Do not boast!" to the wicked: "Do not raise your horns!	5 Dico a coloro che si vantano: «Non vantatevi» e ai peccatori: «Non drizzate il corno!»
6 Do not raise your horns against heaven! Do not speak arrogantly against the Rock!"	6 Non drizzate in alto il vostro. corno, non dite insolenze contro la Rupe.
7 For judgment comes not from east or from west, not from the desert or from the mountains,	7 Poiché non da oriente e da occidente né dal deserto si affretta.
8 But from God who decides, who brings some low and raises others high.	8 Ma è Dio il giudice, umilia questo ed esalta quello.
9 Yes, a cup is in the LORD'S hand, foaming wine, fully spiced. When God pours it out, they will drain it even to the dregs; all the wicked of the earth must drink.	9 Ecco, una coppa è in mano a Jahvè e vino che spumeggia, denso di droghe. E la fa bere fino alla feccia; sorbiranno e berranno tutti i peccatori della terra.
10 But I will rejoice forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob,	10 Ma io esulterò in eterno, inneggerò al Dio di Giacobbe.
11 Who has said: "I will break off all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the just shall be lifted up."	11 E tutte le corna dei peccatori stroncherò; si leveranno tutte le corna dei giusti.
