1 Ma Sem, Cam e Iafet sono la generazione di Noè: dopo il diluvio nati sono a loro molti figliuoli.	1 These are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and of the sons who were born to them after the great flood.
2 I figliuoli di Jafet nacquero questi: Gomer, Magog, Madai, lavan e Tubal e Mosoc e Tiras.	2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 Ma i figliuoli di Gomer sono questi; Ascenez e Rifat e Togorma.	3 And then the sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 Ma i figliuoli di laran sono questi: Elisa e Tarsis, Cettim e Dodanim.	4 And the sons of Javan were Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.
5 E da costoro si cominciò a dividere l'insule delle genti, ciascuna per sua regione, ciascuno secondo la lingua sua e le famiglie nelle nazioni loro.	5 The islands of the Gentiles were divided by these into their regions, each one according to his tongue, and their families in their nations.
6 I figliuoli di Cam sono questi, cioè: Cus, Mes raim e Fut e Canaan.	6 And the Sons of Ham were Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.
7 I figliuoli di Cus sono questi, cioè: Saba, Evila e Sabata e Regma e Sabataca. I figliuoli di Regma sono questi, cioè: Saba e Dadan.	7 And the sons of Cush were Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dadan.
8 Ma alla fine Cus generoe Nemrot; questi in cominciò essere potente nella terra.	8 And then Cush conceived Nimrod; he began to be powerful on the earth.
9 E sì era molto robusto cacciatore innanzi al Signore. E da costui uscì in proverbio: questi è quasi Nemrot, robusto cacciatore innanzi al Signore.	9 And he was an able hunter before the Lord. From this, a proverb came forth: ‘Just like Nimrod, an able hunter before the Lord.’
10 E fue certo il principio dello regno suo Ba bilon e Arac e Acad e Calanne nella terra di Sen naar.	10 And so, the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Erech, and Accad, and Chalanne, in the land of Shinar.
11 Della quale terra uscito n'è Assur, il quale edificoe Ninive e le piazze della cittade, e Cale.	11 From that land, Assur came forth, and he built Nineveh, and the streets of the city, and Calah,
12 Resen etiam edificò fra Ninive e Cale; e questa è cittade grande.	12 and also Resen, between Nineveh and Calah. This is a great city.
13 Mesraim generoe Ludim e Ananim e Laa bim e Neftuim,	13 And truly, Mizraim conceived Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, Naphtuhim,
14 e Fetrusim e Casluim, de' quali sono usciti i Filistei e Caftorimi.	14 and Pathrusim, and Casluhim, from whom came forth the Philistines and the Caphtorim.
15 Ma Canaan generoe Sidone, suo primogenito, il popolo Eteo,	15 Then Canaan conceived Sidon his firstborn, the Hittite,
16 e Jebuseo, Amorreo e Gergeseo,	16 and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, the Girgashite,
17 Eveo e Aracheo, Sineo,	17 the Hivite, and the Arkite: the Sinite,
18 ed Aradeo, Samareo ed Amateo. E per costoro disseminati sono li popoli de' Cananei.	18 and the Arvadian, the Samarite, and the Hamathite. And after this, the peoples of the Canaanites became widespread.
19 E fatti sono i termini [di] Canaan, vegnendo da Sidone Gerara insino a Gaza, tanto che entri in Sodoma e Gomorra, e Adamam e Seboim insino a Lesa.	19 And the borders of Chanaan went, as one travels, from Sidon to Gerar, even to Gaza, until one enters Sodom and Gomorrah, and from Admah and Zeboiim, even to Lesa.
20 Questi sono figliuoli di Cam, ne'descendenti, lingue e generazioni e terre e genti loro.	20 These are the sons of Ham in their kindred, and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations.
21 Ma di Sem nacquero i padri di tutti i figliuoli di Eber.	21 Likewise, from Shem, the father of all the sons of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.
22 I figliuoli di Sem sono: Aclam ed Assur ed Arfasat e Lud ed Aram.	22 The sons of Shem were Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
23 I figliuoli di Aram: Us e Ul e Geter e Mes.	23 The sons of Aram were Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
24 Ma Arfasat generoe Sale, del quale nato è Eber.	24 But truly, Arphaxad conceived Shelah, from whom was born Eber.
25 Al quale Eber nati sono due figliuoli; dei quali l'uno ebbe nome Faleg, impercio che ne' die suoi divisa fue la terra; ed il nome del fratello suo, Iectan.	25 And to Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth became divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan.
26 Il quale lectan generoe Elmoda e Salef ed Asarmot, Iare,	26 This Joktan conceived Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, Jerah
27 e Aduram, Uzal, Decla,	27 and Hadoram, and Uzal and Diklah,
28 Ebal e Abimael, Saba,	28 and Obal and Abimael, Sheba
29 e Ofir, Evila e Jobab. Tutti questi figliuoli di Iectan.	29 and Ophir, and Havilah and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
30 Ed abitarono, per loro abitazione, da Messa insino a Sefar, monte orientale.	30 And their habitation extended from Messa, as one sojourns, even to Sephar, a mountain in the east.
31 Questi sono figliuoli di Sem, secondo i di scendenti e lingue e regioni delle genti che di loro nacquero.	31 These are the sons of Shem according to their kindred, and tongues, and the regions within their nations.
32 Queste sono le famiglie di Noe, appresso i popoli e nazioni suoi. E da costoro divise sono le genti in terra dopo il diluvio.	32 These are the families of Noah, according to their peoples and nations. The nations became divided according to these, on the earth after the great flood.
