BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 All'uomo di dura cervice che disprezza chi lo corregge, piomberà addosso all'improvviso la rovina, e non ci sarà rimedio per lui.	1 Whoever is stiff-necked under reproof wil be suddenly and irremediably broken.
2 Quando i giusti si moltiplicano, il popolo si rallegra, quando salgono al potere gli empi il popolo geme.	2 When the upright are on the increase, the people rejoice; when the wicked are in power, the peoplegroan.
3 L'uomo che ama la sapienza dà consolazioni a suo padre, ma chi mantiene le meretrici rovinerà il patrimonio.	3 The lover of Wisdom makes his father glad, but the patron of prostitutes fritters his wealth away.
4 Il re giusto rialza lo stato, l'uomo avaro lo distrugge.	4 A king gives a country stability by justice, an extortioner brings it to ruin.
5 L'uomo che parla al suo amico con adulazioni e fintaggini tende una rete ai piedi di lui.	5 Whoever flatters his companion spreads a net for his feet.
6 L'uomo peccatore e iniquo cadrà nel laccio, e il giusto canterà e farà festa.	6 In the sin of the wicked lies a snare, but the upright exults and rejoices.
7 Il giusto conosce la causa dei poveri, l'empio non ne capisce niente.	7 The upright understands the cause of the weak, the wicked has not the wit to understand it.
8 Gli uomini corrotti distruggon la città, invece i sapienti la, salvan dall'ira.	8 Scoffers set a city in ferment, but the wise moderate anger.
9 L'uomo sapiente se viene a contesa con lo stolto, o che s'arrabbi o che rida, non avrà pace,	9 Let someone wise argue with a fool, anger and good humour alike wil be wasted.
10 Gli uomini sanguinari odiano l'uomo integro, i giusti invece ne cercano la salvezza.	10 The bloodthirsty hate the honest, but the upright seek them out.
11 Lo stolto sfoga tutto il suo animo, il saggio aspetta e riserva all'avvenire.	11 The fool blurts out every angry feeling, but the wise subdues and restrains them.
12 Il principe che ascolta volentieri le menzogne ha ministri tutti malvagi.	12 When a ruler listens to false reports, al his ministers wil be scoundrels.
13 Il povero e il creditore si vanno incontro, il Signore ha data la luce a tutti e due.	13 Poor and oppressor are found together, Yahweh gives light to the eyes of both.
14 Il re che con lealtà rende giustizia ai poveri avrà stabile il suo trono in eterno.	14 The king who judges the weak with equity sees his throne set firm for ever.
15 La verga e la correzione danno saggezza; ma il fanciullo abbandonato ai suoi capricci fa vergogna a sua madre.	15 The stick and the reprimand bestow wisdom, a young man left to himself brings shame on his mother.
16 Moltiplicandosi gli empi, si moltiplicano i delitti, e i giusti ne vedranno le rovine.	16 When the wicked are on the increase, sin multiplies, but the upright wil witness their downfal .
17 Educa tuo figlio e ti sarà di consolazione, sarà la delizia dell'anima tua.	17 Correct your child, and he wil give you peace of mind; he will delight your soul.
18 Quando la profezia verrà meno, il popolo sarà dissipato, ma è beato chi osserva la legge.	18 Where there is no vision the people get out of hand; happy are they who keep the law.
19 Il servo non si può educare a parole, perchè comprende quanto dici, ma sdegna rispondere.	19 Not by words is a slave corrected: even if he understands, he will take no notice.
20 Hai tu visto un uomo precipitoso nel parlare? C'è da sperare più l'emendamento della follìa che il suo.	20 You see someone too ready of speech? There is more to be hoped for from a fool!
21 Chi alleva delicatamente fin dall'infanzia il suo servo, poi se lo ritroverà ribelle.	21 If a slave is pampered from childhood, he wil prove ungrateful in the end.
22 L'uomo iracondo provoca le risse, chi è facile ad arrabbiarsi sarà molto proclive a peccare.	22 The hot-head provokes disputes, someone in a rage commits al sorts of sins.
23 L'umiliazione segue il superbo, e la gloria abbraccerà l'umile di cuore.	23 Pride brings humiliation, whoever humbles himself will win honour.
24 Chi s'associa al ladro odia la sua anima, sente chi lo scongiura e non palesa.	24 To hear the curse and disclose nothing is to share with the thief and to hate oneself.
25 Chi ha paura dell'uomo cadrà ben presto, chi spera nel Signore sarà esaltato.	25 To be afraid of human beings is a snare, whoever trusts in Yahweh is secure.
26 Molti cercano il favore del principe, ma dal Signore verrà il giudizio di ciascuno di noi.	26 Many people seek a ruler's favour, but the rights of each come from Yahweh.
27 I giusti hanno in abbonimio gli empi, gli empi hanno in abbominio quelli che son nella retta strada. Il figlio che mette in pratica la parola sarà sicuro dalla perdizione.	27 Abhorrent to the upright is the sinful, abhorrent to the wicked is one whose way is straight.
