Proverbi 12

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 - Chi ama la disciplina, ama la scienza; ma chi odia gli ammonimenti è uno scemo.	1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge. But whoever hates correction is unwise.
2 Chi è buono, otterrà favori dal Signore, e chi confida nei suoi artifizi, opra da empio.	2 Whoever is good shall draw grace from the Lord. But whoever trusts in his own thoughts acts impiously.
3 L'uomo non acquisterà fermezza coll'iniquità; ma la radice dei giusti non sarà mai smossa.	3 Man will not be made strong from impiety. And the root of the just shall not be moved.
4 La donna diligente è la corona del marito; e carie nelle ossa quella che fa azioni indegne.	4 A diligent woman is a crown to her husband. And she who acts with confusion as to which things are worthy is decay to his bones.
5 I pensieri dei giusti sono l'equità; e i consigli dei tristi sono frodolenti.	5 The thoughts of the just are judgments. And the counsels of the impious are dishonest.
6 Le parole degli empi insidiano al sangue altrui; la bocca dei buoni li libererà.	6 The words of the impious lie in wait for blood. The mouth of the just shall free them.
7 Lascia che voltino gli empi, e non saranno più; ma la casa dei giusti resterà salva.	7 Turn from the impious, and they will not be. But the house of the just shall stand firm.
8 Dalla sua dottrina si conoscerà l'uomo, e chi è vano e scemo sarà esposto al disprezzo.	8 A man will be known by his doctrine. But whoever is vain and heartless will suffer contempt.
9 È meglio un povero che basta a sè, di un borioso che manca di pane.	9 Better is a pauper who has what he needs, than someone glorious and in need of bread.
10 Il giusto ha cura della vita delle sue bestiole, ma le viscere degli empi sono crudeli.	10 The just one knows the lives of his beasts. But the inner most parts of the impious are cruel.
11 Chi lavora la sua terra, si sazierà di pane; chi segue l'ozio è più che stolto. Chi prende gusto nei trattenimenti dei bevitori di vinolascerà il disonore nei suoi castelli.	11 Whoever works his land shall be satisfied with bread. But whoever continually pursues leisure is most foolish. Whoever is soothed by lingering over wine leaves behind contempt in his strongholds.
12 Il desiderio dell'empio è che si rafforzino i peggiori; ma la radice del giusto germoglierà.	12 The desire of the impious is the fortification of what is most wicked. But the root of the just shall prosper.
13 Pei peccati delle labbra il malvagio va incontro alla rovina; ma il giusto scamperà dall'angustia.	13 For the sins of the lips draw ruin to the evil. But the just shall escape from distress.
14 Ciascuno si sazierà dei beni, frutto della sua bocca e secondo la mercede delle sue mani sarà retribuito.	14 By the fruit of his own mouth, each one shall be filled with good things, and according to the works of his own hands, it will be distributed to him.
15 La via dello stolto è diritta ai suoi occhi, ma chi è saggio dà retta ai consigli.	15 The way of the foolish is right in his own eyes. But whoever is wise listens to counsels.
16 L'insensato fa conoscere tosto la sua collera, ma chi dissimula un affronto è avveduto.	16 The senseless immediately reveals his anger. But whoever ignores injuries is clever.
17 Chi dice quello che sa, dà indizio di giustizia, ma chi mentisce è testimonio frodolento.	17 He is a sign of justice, who speaks what he knows. But whoever deceives is a dishonest witness.
18 C'è chi promette e gli ripunge come spada nella sua coscienza, ma la lingua dei saggi è una medicina.	18 He who makes promises is also jabbed, as if with a sword, in conscience. But the tongue of the wise is reasonable.
19 Il labbro veritiero sarà costante in perpetuo, ma chi è testimonio avventato acconcia la lingua alla menzogna.	19 The lips of truth shall be steadfast forever. But a hasty witness readies a lying tongue.
20 Nel cuore dei macchinatori di malvagità c'è l'inganno e a quelli che fanno accordi di pace tien dietro l'allegrezza.	20 Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evils. But gladness follows those who take up counsels of peace.
21 Non contristerà il giusto qualunque cosa l'incolga, mentre i tristi saranno sempre pieni di guai.	21 Whatever may befall the just, it will not discourage him. But the impious will be filled with disasters.
22 Le labbra menzognere sono in abominio presso Dio, e quelli che operano con lealtà hanno la sua simpatia.	22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord. But whoever acts faithfully pleases him.
23 L'uomo accorto cela la sua scienza, e il cuor degli stolti pubblica la sua follia.	23 A resourceful man conceals knowledge. And the heart of the unwise provokes foolishness.
24 La mano dei laboriosi signoreggerà, e la pigra pagherà tributo.	24 The hand of the strong will rule. But anyone who is neglectful will pay tribute.
25 La tristezza nel cuore dell'uomo l'abbatterà, e da una buona parola sarà rallegrato.	25 Grief in the heart of a man humbles him. And with a good word he shall be made glad.
26 Chi non cura il suo danno in pro dell'amico è giusto, ma il cammino dei tristi fa loro perdere i passi.	26 He who ignores a loss for the sake of a friend is just. But the way of the impious will deceive them.
27 Il fraudolento non troverà guadagno, e una sostanza frutto dell'uomo vale tant'oro.	27 The dishonest will not discover gain. But the substance of a man will be like precious gold.
28 Sul sentiero della giustizia c'è la vita, e la strada obliqua conduce alla morte.	28 In the path of justice, there is life. But the devious way leads to death.
