Titus 3

1 Admonish them to be subordinate to the rulers and authorities, to obey their dictates, to be prepared for every good work,	1 Admoesta-os a que sejam submissos aos magistrados e às autoridades, sejam obedientes, estejam prontos para qualquer obra boa,
2 to speak evil of no one, not to be litigious, but to be reserved, displaying all meekness toward all men.	2 não falem mal dos outros, sejam pacíficos, afáveis e saibam dar provas de toda mansidão para com todos os homens.
3 For, in times past, we ourselves were also unwise, unbelieving, erring, servants of various desires and pleasures, acting with malice and envy, being hateful and hating one another.	3 Porque também nós outrora éramos insensatos, rebeldes, transviados, escravos de paixões de toda espécie, vivendo na malícia e na inveja, detestáveis, odiando-nos uns aos outros.
4 But then the kindness and humanity of God our Savior appeared.	4 Mas um dia apareceu a bondade de Deus, nosso Salvador, e o seu amor para com os homens.
5 And he saved us, not by works of justice that we had done, but, in accord with his mercy, by the washing of regeneration and by the renovation of the Holy Spirit,	5 E, não por causa de obras de justiça que tivéssemos praticado, mas unicamente em virtude de sua misericórdia, ele nos salvou mediante o batismo da regeneração e renovação, pelo Espírito Santo,
6 whom he has poured out upon us in abundance, through Jesus Christ our Savior,	6 que nos foi concedido em profusão, por meio de Cristo, nosso Salvador,
7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we may become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.	7 para que a justificação obtida por sua graça nos torne, em esperança, herdeiros da vida eterna.
8 This is a faithful saying. And I want you to confirm these things, so that those who believe in God may take care to excel in good works. These things are good and useful to men.	8 Certa é esta doutrina, e quero que a ensines com constância e firmeza, para que os que abraçaram a fé em Deus se esforcem por se aperfeiçoar na prática do bem. Isto é bom e útil aos homens.
9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, as well as arguments against the law. For these are useless and empty.	9 Quanto a questões tolas, genealogias, contendas e disputas relativas à lei, foge delas, porque são inúteis e vãs.
10 Avoid a man who is a heretic, after the first and second correction,	10 O homem que assim fomenta divisões, depois de advertido uma primeira e uma segunda vez, evita-o,
11 knowing that one who is like this has been subverted, and that he offends; for he has been condemned by his own judgment.	11 visto que esse tal é um perverso que, perseverando no seu pecado, se condena a si próprio.
12 When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, hurry to return to me at Nicopolis. For I have decided to winter there.	12 Logo que eu te enviar Ártemas ou Tíquico, apressa-te a vir ter comigo em Nicópolis, onde decidi passar o inverno.
13 Send Zenas the lawyer and Apollo ahead with care, and let nothing be lacking to them.	13 Prepara com cuidado a viagem do jurista Zenas e de Apolo, de maneira que nada lhes venha a faltar.
14 But let our men also learn to excel in good works pertaining to the necessities of life, so that they may not be unfruitful.	14 Urge também que os nossos aprendam a aplicar-se às boas obras para atender às necessidades mais prementes. Assim não ficarão infrutuosos.
15 All those who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us in the faith. May the grace of God be with you all. Amen.	15 Todos os que estão comigo te saúdam. Saúda todos aqueles que nos amam na fé. A graça esteja com todos vós!
