1 Now on the morning of the Sabbath, when it began to grow light on the first Sabbath, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the sepulcher.	1 Pasado el sábado, al alborear el primer día de la semana, María Magdalena y la otra María fueron a ver el sepulcro.
2 And behold, a great earthquake occurred. For an Angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and as he approached, he rolled back the stone and sat down on it.	2 De pronto se produjo un gran terremoto, pues el Angel del Señor bajó del cielo y, acercándose, hizo rodar la piedra y se sentó encima de ella.
3 Now his appearance was like lightning, and his vestment was like snow.	3 Su aspecto era como el relámpago y su vestido blanco como la nieve.
4 Then, out of fear of him, the guards were terrified, and they became like dead men.	4 Los guardias, atemorizados ante él, se pusieron a temblar y se quedaron como muertos.
5 Then the Angel responded by saying to the women: “Do not be afraid. For I know that you are seeking Jesus, who was crucified.	5 El Angel se dirigió a las mujeres y les dijo: «Vosotras no temáis, pues sé que buscáis a Jesús, el Crucificado;
6 He is not here. For he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where the Lord was placed.	6 no está aquí, ha resucitado, como lo había dicho. Venid, ved el lugar donde estaba.
7 And then, go quickly, and tell his disciples that he has risen. And behold, he will precede you to Galilee. There you shall see him. Lo, I have told you beforehand.”	7 Y ahora id enseguida a decir a sus discípulos: “Ha resucitado de entre los muertos e irá delante de vosotros a Galilea; allí le veréis.” Ya os lo he dicho».
8 And they went out of the tomb quickly, with fear and in great joy, running to announce it to his disciples.	8 Ellas partieron a toda prisa del sepulcro, con miedo y gran gozo, y corrieron a dar la noticia a sus discípulos.
9 And behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Hail.” But they drew near and took hold of his feet, and they adored him.	9 En esto, Jesús les salió al encuentro y les dijo: «¡Dios os guarde!» Y ellas, acercándose, se asieron de sus pies y le adoraron.
10 Then Jesus said to them: “Do not be afraid. Go, announce it to my brothers, so that they may go to Galilee. There they shall see me.”	10 Entonces les dice Jesús: «No temáis. Id, avisad a mis hermanos que vayan a Galilea; allí me verán».
11 And when they had departed, behold, some of the guards went into the city, and they reported to the leaders of the priests all that had happened.	11 Mientras ellas iban, algunos de la guardia fueron a la ciudad a contar a los sumos sacerdotes todo lo que había pasado.
12 And gathering together with the elders, having taken counsel, they gave an abundant sum of money to the soldiers,	12 Estos, reunidos con los ancianos, celebraron consejo y dieron una buena suma de dinero a los soldados,
13 saying: “Say that his disciples arrived at night and stole him away, while we were sleeping.	13 advirtiéndoles: «Decid: “Sus discípulos vinieron de noche y le robaron mientras nosotros dormíamos.”
14 And if the procurator hears about this, we will persuade him, and we will protect you.”	14 Y si la cosa llega a oídos del procurador, nosotros le convenceremos y os evitaremos complicaciones».
15 Then, having accepted the money, they did as they were instructed. And this word has been spread among the Jews, even to this day.	15 Ellos tomaron el dinero y procedieron según las instrucciones recibidas. Y se corrió esa versión entre los judíos, hasta el día de hoy.
16 Now the eleven disciples went on to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had appointed them.	16 Por su parte, los once discípulos marcharon a Galilea, al monte que Jesús les había indicado.
17 And, seeing him, they worshipped him, but certain ones doubted.	17 Y al verle le adoraron; algunos sin embargo dudaron.
18 And Jesus, drawing near, spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.	18 Jesús se acercó a ellos y les habló así: «Me ha sido dado todo poder en el cielo y en la tierra.
19 Therefore, go forth and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,	19 Id, pues, y haced discípulos a todas las gentes bautizándolas en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo,
20 teaching them to observe all that I have ever commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, even to the consummation of the age.”	20 y enseñándoles a guardar todo lo que yo os he mandado. Y he aquí que yo estoy con vosotros todos los días hasta el fin del mundo».
