Isaiah 32

1 Behold, the king will reign in justice, and the princes will rule in judgment.	1 ECCO, un re regnerà in giustizia; e quant’è a’ principi, signoreggeranno in dirittura.
2 And a man will be like someone hidden from the wind, who conceals himself from a storm, or like rivers of waters in a time of thirst, or like the shadow of a rock that juts out in a desert land.	2 E quell’uomo sarà come un ricetto dal vento, e come un nascondimento dal nembo; come rivi d’acque in luogo arido, come l’ombra d’una gran roccia in terra asciutta.
3 The eyes of those who see will not be obscured, and the ears of those who hear will listen closely.	3 E gli occhi di quelli che veggono non saranno più abbagliati, e le orecchie di quelli che odono staranno attente.
4 And the heart of the foolish will understand knowledge, and the tongue of those with impaired speech will speak quickly and plainly.	4 E il cuore degl’inconsiderati intenderà scienza, e la lingua de’ balbettanti parlerà speditamente e nettamente.
5 He who is foolish will no longer be called leader, nor will the deceitful be called greater.	5 Lo stolto non sarà più chiamato principe, e l’avaro non sarà più detto magnifico.
6 For a foolish man speaks foolishness and his heart works iniquity in order to accomplish deception. And he speaks to the Lord deceitfully, so as to empty the soul of the hungry and to take away drink from the thirsty.	6 Perciocchè l’uomo da nulla parla scelleratezza, e il suo cuore opera iniquità, usando ipocrisia, e pronunziando parole di disviamento contro al Signore; per render vuota l’anima dell’affamato, e far mancar da bere all’assetato.
7 The tools of the deceitful are very wicked. For they have concocted plans to destroy the meek by lying words, though the poor speak judgment.	7 E gli strumenti dell’avaro sono malvagi, ed egli prende scellerati consigli, per distruggere i poveri, con parole di falsità, eziandio quando il bisognoso parla dirittamente.
8 Yet truly, the prince will plan things that are worthy of a prince, and he will stand above the rulers.	8 Ma il principe prende consigli da principe, e si leva per far cose degne di principe
9 You opulent women, rise up and listen to my voice! O confident daughters, play close attention to my eloquence!	9 Donne agiate, levatevi, udite la mia voce; fanciulle, che vivete sicure, porgete gli orecchi al mio ragionamento.
10 For after a year and some days, you who are confident will be disturbed. For the vintage has been completed; the gathering will no longer occur.	10 Un anno dopo l’altro voi sarete in gran turbamento, o voi, che vivete sicure; perciocchè sarà mancata la vendemmia, la ricolta non verrà più.
11 Be stupefied, you opulent women! Be disturbed, O confident ones! Strip yourselves, and be confounded; gird yourselves at the waist.	11 O donne agiate, abbiate spavento; tremate, voi che vivete sicure; spogliatevi ignude, e cingetevi di sacchi sopra i lombi;
12 Mourn over your breasts, over the delightful country, over the fruitful vineyard.	12 percotendovi le mammelle, per li be’ campi, per le vigne fruttifere.
13 Thorn and brier will rise up, over the soil of my people. How much more over all the houses of gladness, over the city of exultation?	13 Spine e pruni cresceranno sopra la terra del mio popolo; anzi sopra ogni casa di diletto, e sopra la città trionfante.
14 For the house has been forsaken. The multitude of the city has been abandoned. A darkness and a covering have been placed over its dens, even unto eternity. It will be the gladness of wild donkeys and the pasture of flocks,	14 Perciocchè i palazzi saranno abbandonati, la città piena di popolo sarà lasciata; i castelli e le fortezze saranno ridotte in perpetuo in caverne, in sollazzo d’asini salvatici, in paschi di gregge.
15 until the Spirit is poured over us from on high. And the desert will be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field will be considered as a forest.	15 Finchè lo Spirito sia sparso sopra noi da alto, e che il deserto divenga un Carmel, e Carmel sia reputato per una selva.
16 And judgment will live in solitude, and justice will be seated in a fruitful place.	16 Allora il giudicio abiterà nel deserto, e la giustizia dimorerà in Carmel.
17 And the work of justice will be peace. And the service of justice will be quiet and secure, forever.	17 E la pace sarà l’effetto della giustizia; e ciò che la giustizia opererà sarà riposo e sicurtà, in perpetuo.
18 And my people will be seated in the beauty of peacefulness, and in the tabernacles of faithfulness, and in the opulence of restfulness.	18 E il mio popolo abiterà in una stanza di pace, e in tabernacoli sicurissimi, e in luoghi tranquilli di riposo;
19 But hail will be in the descent of the forest, and the city will be brought exceedingly low.	19 ma egli grandinerà, con caduta della selva; e la città sarà abbassata ben basso.
20 Blessed are you who sow over any waters, sending the feet of the ox and the donkey there.	20 Beati voi, che seminate lungo ogni acqua, e che lasciate andar libero il piè del bue, e dell’asino!
