3 The impious, when he has arrived within the depths of sin, thinks little of it. But ill repute and disgrace follow him.	3 Quando viene un empio, viene anche lo sprezzo, E il vituperio con ignominia
4 Words from the mouth of a man are deep waters. And the fountain of wisdom is a torrent overflowing.	4 Le parole della bocca dell’uomo eccellente sono acque profonde; La fonte di sapienza è un torrente che sgorga
5 It is not good to accept the character of the impious, so as to turn away from true judgment.	5 Egli non è bene d’aver riguardo alla qualità dell’empio, Per far torto al giusto nel giudicio

16 A man’s gift expands his way and makes space for him before leaders.	16 Il presente dell’uomo gli fa far largo, E lo conduce davanti a’ grandi
17 The just is the first accuser of himself; his friend arrives and shall investigate him.	17 Chi è il primo a piatir la sua causa ha ragione; Ma il suo compagno vien poi, ed esamina quello ch’egli ha detto
18 Casting a lot suppresses contentions and passes judgment, even among the powerful.	18 La sorte fa cessar le liti, E fa gli spartimenti fra i potenti
19 A brother who is helped by a brother is like a reinforced city, and judgments are like the bars of cities.	19 Il fratello offeso è più inespugnabile che una forte città; E le contese tra fratelli son come le sbarre di un palazzo
20 From the fruit of a man’s mouth shall his belly be filled. And the harvest of his own lips shall satisfy him.	20 Il ventre dell’uomo sarà saziato del frutto della sua bocca; Egli sarà saziato della rendita delle sue labbra
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Whoever values it shall eat from its fruits.	21 Morte e vita sono in poter della lingua; E chi l’ama mangerà del frutto di essa
22 He who has found a good wife has found goodness, and he shall draw contentment from the Lord. He who expels a good wife expels goodness. But he who holds on to an adulteress is foolish and impious.	22 Chi ha trovata moglie ha trovata una buona cosa, Ed ha ottenuto favor del Signore
