1 A Psalm of David, which he sang to the Lord because of the words of Cush, the son of Jemini.	1 Complainte de David, qu’il chanta à Yahvé au sujet de Kouch de Benjamin.
2 O Lord, my God, in you I have hoped. Save me from all those who persecute me, and free me:	2 Seigneur, mon Dieu, tu es mon refuge, sauve-moi du persécuteur, délivre-moi.
3 lest at any time, like a lion, he might seize my soul, while there is no one to redeem me, nor any who can save.	3 Comme un lion, il voudrait me déchirer, m’emporter sans que personne me délivre.
4 O Lord, my God, if there is iniquity in my hands, if I have done this:	4 Seigneur, mon Dieu, qu’ai-je fait de mal? L’argent a-t-il sali mes mains?
5 if I have repaid those who rendered evils to me, may I deservedly fall away empty before my enemies:	5 Ai-je rendu le mal à mes bienfaiteurs? Ai-je fait tort sans raison à mon adversaire?
6 let the enemy pursue my soul, and take hold of it, and trample my life into the earth, and drag down my glory into the dust.	6 Que l’ennemi alors me poursuive et m’atteigne, qu’il me jette à terre sans vie, et piétine mes entrailles dans la poussière.
7 Rise up, Lord, in your anger. And be exalted to the borders of my enemies. And rise up, O Lord my God, according to the precept that you commanded,	7 Lève-toi, Seigneur, montre ta colère, dresse-toi face à la rage de l’adversaire, réveille-toi, ô Dieu, ordonne le jugement.
8 and a congregation of people will surround you. And, because of this, return on high.	8 Que les peuples ensemble se rangent autour de toi, et toi, là-haut, tu siégeras au-dessus d’eux
9 The Lord judges the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice and according to my innocence within me.	9 car tu es le Seigneur, le juge des nations. Juge-moi, Seigneur, vois que je suis juste et reconnais mon innocence.
10 The wickedness of sinners will be consumed, and you will direct the just: the examiner of hearts and temperaments is God.	10 Mets un terme au mal et aux méchants et affermis le juste, car tu sondes les reins et les cœurs: tu es un Dieu juste.
11 Just is my help from the Lord, who saves the upright of heart.	11 Dieu est mon bouclier, il sauve les cœurs droits.
12 God is a just judge, strong and patient. How could he be angry throughout every day?	12 Dieu est un juste juge, un Dieu toujours prêt à frapper.
13 Unless you will be converted, he will brandish his sword. He has extended his bow and made it ready.	13 Reprenez-vous, sinon il aiguise l’épée, il bande son arc et il vise,
14 And with it, he has prepared instruments of death. He has produced his arrows for those on fire.	14 il y ajuste des armes de mort, des flèches enflammées.
15 Behold him who has given birth to injustice: he has conceived sorrow and has begotten iniquity.	15 Voyez l’homme qui porte le mal en son sein: il a conçu la malchance, il enfantera l’échec.
16 He has opened a pit and enlarged it. And he has fallen into the hole that he made.	16 Il a creusé la fosse, il l’a faite profonde, il tombera dans le trou qu’il a fait.
17 His sorrow will be turned upon his own head, and his iniquity will descend upon his highest point.	17 La malchance reviendra sur sa tête, sa violence lui retombera sur le crâne.
18 I will confess to the Lord according to his justice, and I will sing a psalm to the name of the Lord Most High.	18 Je célébrerai le Seigneur car il est juste, je jouerai ma musique pour le nom du Très-Haut.
