Psalms 48

1 Unto the end. A Psalm to the sons of Korah.	1 In fine, per li figliuoli di Core.
2 Hear these things, all nations. Pay attention, all inhabitants of the world:	2 Tutte genti, udite queste cose; ricevete con le orecchie tutti che abitate la terra;
3 whoever is earth-born, you sons of men, together as one, the rich and the poor.	3 tutti generati di terra, e gli figliuoli delli uomini; insieme il ricco e il povero.
4 My mouth will speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart will speak prudence.	4 La mia bocca parlerà la sapienza; e il pensiero del mio cuore la prudenza.
5 I will incline my ear to a parable. I will open my case with the psaltery.	5 Nella parabola inchinerò la mia orecchia; nel salterio aprirò la mia proposizione.
6 Why should I fear in the evil day? The iniquity at my heel will surround me.	6 Il per che temerò nel malo giorno? la iniquità del mio calcagno mi circonderà.
7 Those who trust in their own strength and who glory in the multitude of their riches,	7 Quelli che si confidano nella sua virtù, e che si gloriano nelle moltitudini delle sue ricchezze.
8 no brother redeems, nor will man buy back. He will not give to God his appeasement,	8 Il fratello non ricompra, ricomprarà l'uomo? a Dio non darà il suo prezzo,
9 nor the price for the redemption of his soul. And he will labor continuously,	9 e (darà) il prezzo della redenzione della sua anima; e affaticherassi in eterno,
10 and he will still live, until the end.	10 e ancora viverà nella fine.
11 He will not see death, when he sees the wise dying: the foolish and the senseless will perish together. And they will leave their riches to strangers.	11 Quando vederà li sapienti morire, non vederà il pericolo; l' insipiente e il stolto insieme periranno.
12 And their sepulchers will be their houses forever, their tabernacles from generation to generation. They have called their names in their own lands.	12 E agli altri lasceranno le sue ricchezze; e i loro sepolcri saranno loro case in eterno. Li loro tabernacoli saranno della progenie in progenie; nelle sue terre chiamorono il suo nome.
13 And man, when he was held in honor, did not understand. He has been compared to the senseless beasts, and he has become like them.	13 E l'uomo, essendo in onore, non intese; assimigliato è alle bestie senza senno, e simile è fatto a quelle.
14 This way of theirs is a scandal to them. And afterwards, they will delight in their mouth.	14 Questa loro via è ad essi scandalo; e dopo si compiaceranno nella sua bocca.
15 They have been placed in Hell like sheep. Death will feed on them. And the just will have dominion over them in the morning. And their help will grow old in Hell for their glory.	15 Sono posti nell' inferno come pecore; e la morte pascerà quelli. E nel mattutino signoreggeranno loro [i] giusti; e loro aiutorio invecchierassi nell' inferno dalla loro gloria.
16 Even so, truly God will redeem my soul from the hand of Hell, when he will receive me.	16 Nientemeno Iddio, quando mi riceverà, ricomparerà l'anima mia dalle mani dell' inferno.
17 Do not be afraid, when a man will have been made rich, and when the glory of his house will have been multiplied.	17 Non temere, quando l' uomo sarà fatto ricco, e quando sarà moltiplicata la gloria della sua casa.
18 For when he dies, he will take nothing away, and his glory will not descend with him.	18 Imperò [che], quando sarà morto, non porterà ogni cosa; e la sua gloria non discenderà con lui.
19 For his soul will be blessed in his lifetime, and he will admit to you when you do good to him.	19 Per che nella sua vita sarà benedetta la sua anima; e a te confesserà quando gli avrai fatto bene.
20 He will even enter with the progeny of his fathers, but, even in eternity, he will not see the light.	20 Entrerà insino alla generazione de' suoi padri; e già mai non vederà lume.
21 Man, when he was in honor, did not understand. He has been compared to the senseless beasts, and he has become like them.	21 L'uomo, essendo in onore, non intese; agguagliato è alle bestie senza senno; è fatto simile a quelle.
