Deuteronomium 13

1 Alles, was ich euch heute befehle, sollt ihr genau befolgen, nichts hinzutun und nichts davon wegnehmen!	1 "If a prophet arises among you, or a dreamer of dreams, and gives you a sign or a wonder,
2 Steht etwa in deiner Mitte ein Prophet oder ein Traumseher auf und bietet dir ein Wahrzeichen oder ein Wunder an,	2 and the sign or wonder which he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, 'Let us go after other gods,' which you have not known, 'and let us serve them,'
3 und es geschieht tatsächlich das Zeichen oder Wunder, auf Grund dessen er dich aufforderte: Laßt uns anderen Göttern nachlaufen, die ihr nicht kennt, und sie verehren,	3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or to that dreamer of dreams; for the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 dann darfst du auf die Worte jenes Propheten oder Träumers nicht hören. Denn der Herr, euer Gott, stellt euch nur auf die Probe, um zu erfahren, ob ihr den Herrn, euren Gott, aus eurem ganzen Herzen und aus eurer ganzen Seele liebt.	4 You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear him, and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and cleave to him.
5 Dem Herrn, eurem Gott, sollt ihr nachfolgen, ihn fürchten, seine Gebote beobachten, auf seine Stimme hören, ihm dienen und ihm in Treue anhangen!	5 But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to make you leave the way in which the LORD your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from the midst of you.
6 Jener Prophet oder Träumer aber soll sterben; denn er hat Aufruhr verkündet wider den Herrn, deinen Gott, der dich aus dem Ägypterland hinausgeführt und aus dem Hause der Knechtschaft erlöst hat. Er brachte dich ab von dem Wege, auf dem der Herr, dein Gott, dir zu wandeln gebot; so sollst du das Böse vertilgen aus deiner Mitte.	6 "If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, entices you secretly, saying, 'Let us go and serve other gods,' which neither you nor your fathers have known,
7 Wenn dein Bruder, der Sohn deiner Mutter, oder dein Sohn oder deine Tochter oder die Frau an deiner Brust oder dein Freund, den du so lieb hast wie dein Ich, dich heimlich verführen wollen und sprechen: Laßt uns doch hingehen und andern Göttern dienen, die weder du noch deine Väter kannten,	7 some of the gods of the peoples that are round about you, whether near you or far off from you, from the one end of the earth to the other,
8 von den Göttern der Völker, mögen sie rings um euch in der Nähe wohnen oder weit entfernt von dir von einem Ende der Erde bis zum andern,	8 you shall not yield to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him, nor shall you conceal him;
9 so darfst du ihnen nicht willfahren und gehorchen, nicht mit mitleidigen Augen auf sie blicken, sie schonen und ihre Schuld verheimlichen.	9 but you shall kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
10 Dem Tod sollst du sie überliefern! Deine Hand soll sich zuerst gegen sie erheben, um sie zu töten, und danach die Hand des gesamten Volkes.	10 You shall stone him to death with stones, because he sought to draw you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
11 Mit Steinen sollst du sie zu Tode steinigen; denn sie haben versucht, dich abzubringen vom Herrn, der dich aus Ägypten, dem Haus der Knechtschaft, hinweggeführt hat.	11 And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and never again do any such wickedness as this among you.
12 Ganz Israel soll es hören und sich fürchten, damit nie wieder so Böses in deiner Mitte getan werde!	12 "If you hear in one of your cities, which the LORD your God gives you to dwell there,
13 Du hörst etwa von irgendeiner deiner Städte, die der Herr, dein Gott, dir als Wohnsitz verleihen wird, sagen:	13 that certain base fellows have gone out among you and have drawn away the inhabitants of the city, saying, 'Let us go and serve other gods,' which you have not known,
14 Nichtsnutzige Männer gingen aus deiner Mitte hervor und haben die Bewohner ihrer Stadt abspenstig gemacht mit den Worten: Wir wollen hingehen und andere Götter verehren, die ihr nicht kennt;	14 then you shall inquire and make search and ask diligently; and behold, if it be true and certain that such an abominable thing has been done among you,
15 dann untersuche gründlich und frage genau nach; wenn sich die Sache wirklich so verhält und derart Abscheuliches in deiner Mitte geschehen ist,	15 you shall surely put the inhabitants of that city to the sword, destroying it utterly, all who are in it and its cattle, with the edge of the sword.
16 so schlage die Bewohner jener Stadt mit der Schärfe des Schwertes; weihe sie und alles, was darin ist, sogar das Vieh, dem Banne durch die Schärfe des Schwertes!	16 You shall gather all its spoil into the midst of its open square, and burn the city and all its spoil with fire, as a whole burnt offering to the LORD your God; it shall be a heap for ever, it shall not be built again.
17 Alle Beute sollst du auf ihren Marktplatz zusammentragen, dann die Stadt und die gesamte Beute als ein Ganzopfer für den Herrn, deinen Gott, verbrennen. Sie sei auf die Dauer ein Ruinenhügel und werde fürderhin nie mehr aufgebaut.	17 None of the devoted things shall cleave to your hand; that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show you mercy, and have compassion on you, and multiply you, as he swore to your fathers,
18 Nichts von dem Banngut darf an deiner Hand haften bleiben, damit der Herr sich von seiner Zornesglut abwende, dir Gnade schenke und aus Erbarmen dich vermehre, wie er deinen Vätern eidlich versprochen hat.	18 if you obey the voice of the LORD your God, keeping all his commandments which I command you this day, and doing what is right in the sight of the LORD your God.
19 Nur mußt du der Stimme des Herrn, deines Gottes, willfahren und alle seine Gebote beachten, die ich dir heute gebe, indem du tust, was recht ist in den Augen des Herrn, deines Gottes.
