1 Der Herr redete zu Moses in der Wüste am Sinai im Offenbarungszelt am ersten Tage des zweiten Monats im zweiten Jahr nach dem Auszug aus dem Lande Ägypten folgendes:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the covenant, on the first day of the second month, in the year after their departure from Egypt, saying:
2 "Nehmt die Gesamtzahl der ganzen Gemeinde der Israeliten auf, und zwar nach ihren Sippen und Familien mit Zählung der einzelnen Namen; alles, was männlich ist, nach seiner Kopfzahl!	2 “Take a total of the entire assembly of the sons of Israel, by their families and houses, and the names of each one, of whomever is of the male sex,
3 Von zwanzig Jahren und darüber sollt ihr alle Kriegstüchtigen in Israel scharenweise mustern, du und Aaron!	3 from twenty years and above, of all the able-bodied men out of Israel, and you shall number them by their companies, you and Aaron.
4 Ein Mann aus jedem Stamm soll euch beistehen, das Oberhaupt für seine Familien!	4 And there shall be with you the leaders of the tribes, as well as of the houses, in their kinships,
5 Dies sind die Namen der Männer, die euch beistehen sollen: von Ruben Elizur, der Sohn des Schedeur,	5 the names of whom are these: of Ruben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;
6 von Simeon Schelumiel, der Sohn des Zurischaddaj,	6 of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;
7 von Juda Nachschon, der Sohn des Amminadab,	7 of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;
8 von Issachar Netanel, der Sohn des Zuar,	8 of Issachar, Nathanael the son of Zuar;
9 von Sebulun Eliab, der Sohn des Chelon,	9 of Zebulon, Eliab the son of Helon.
10 von den Josephstämmen: von Ephraim Elischama, der Sohn des Ammihud, von Manasse Gamliel, der Sohn des Pedazur,	10 And from the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;
11 von Benjamin Abidan, der Sohn des Gidoni,	11 of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;
12 von Dan Achieser, der Sohn des Ammischaddaj,	12 of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;
13 von Aser Pagiel, der Sohn des Ochran,	13 of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran;
14 von Gad Eljasaph, der Sohn des Reuel,	14 of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Reuel;
15 und von Naphtali Achira, der Sohn des Enan.	15 of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.”
16 Dies sind die aus der Gemeinde Berufenen, die Fürsten ihrer väterlichen Stämme, die Häuptlinge der Tausendschaften Israels.	16 These are the very noble leaders of the multitude, by their tribes and kinships, and the heads of the army of Israel.
17 Moses und Aaron holten diese Männer, die namentlich verzeichnet wurden.	17 Moses and Aaron took these, with all the multitude of the common people,
18 Sie sammelten die ganze Gemeinde am Ersten des zweiten Monats; alle ließen sie sich namentlich nach ihren Sippen familienweise von 20 Jahren aufwärts nach ihrer Kopfzahl in die Geburtsregister eintragen.	18 and they gathered them together on the first day of the second month, taking a census of them by kinships, and houses, and families, and heads, and the names of each one from twenty years and above,
19 Wie der Herr es dem Moses geboten hatte, so musterte er sie in der Wüste am Sinai.	19 just as the Lord had instructed Moses. And they were numbered in the desert of Sinai.
20 Die Abkömmlinge Rubens, des Erstgeborenen Israels, d. h. alle kriegstüchtigen Männer über 20 Jahre nach Sippen und Familien, namentlich Kopf für Kopf gezählt,	20 Of Ruben, the firstborn of Israel, by their generations and families and houses, and the names of each head, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,
21 diese Gemusterten vom Stamme Ruben beliefen sich auf 46 500.	21 there were forty-six thousand five hundred.
22 Die Abkömmlinge der Simeoniten, d. h. alle kriegstüchtigen Männer über 20 Jahre nach Sippen und Familien, namentlich Kopf für Kopf gezählt,	22 Of the sons of Simeon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names and heads of each one, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,
23 diese Gemusterten vom Stamme Simeon beliefen sich auf 59 300.	23 there were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.
24 Die Abkömmlinge der Gaditen, d. h. alle kriegstüchtigen Männer über 20 Jahre nach Sippen und Familien, namentlich Kopf für Kopf gezählt,	24 Of the sons of Gad, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who could go forth to war,
25 diese Gemusterten vom Stamme Gad beliefen sich auf 45 650.	25 there were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.
26 Die Abkömmlinge der Judäer, d. h. alle kriegstüchtigen Männer über 20 Jahre nach Sippen und Familien, namentlich gezählt,	26 Of the sons of Judah, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
27 diese Gemusterten vom Stamme Juda beliefen sich auf 54 400.	27 there were counted seventy-four thousand six hundred.
28 Die Abkömmlinge der Issachariten, d. h. alle kriegstüchtigen Männer über 20 Jahre nach Sippen und Familien, namentlich gezählt,	28 Of the sons of Issachar, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who could go forth to war,
29 diese Gemusterten vom Stamme Issachar beliefen sich auf 54 400.	29 there were counted fifty-four thousand four hundred.
30 Die Abkömmlinge der Sebuluniten, d. h. alle kriegstüchtigen Männer über 20 Jahre nach Sippen und Familien, namentlich gezählt,	30 Of the sons of Zebulon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
31 diese Gemusterten vom Stamme Sebulun beliefen sich auf 57 400.	31 there were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.
32 Die Abkömmlinge der Ephraimiten, d. h. alle kriegstüchtigen Männer über 20 Jahre nach Sippen und Familien, namentlich gezählt,	32 From the sons of Joseph, of the sons of Ephraim, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
33 diese Gemusterten vom Stamme Ephraim beliefen sich auf 40 500.	33 there were forty thousand five hundred.
34 Die Abkömmlinge der Manassiten, d. h. alle kriegstüchtigen Männer über 20 Jahre nach Sippen und Familien, namentlich gezählt,	34 Furthermore, of the sons of Manasseh, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
35 diese Gemusterten vom Stamme Manasse beliefen sich auf 32 200.	35 there were thirty-two thousand two hundred.
36 Die Abkömmlinge der Benjaminiten, d. h. alle kriegstüchtigen Männer über 20 Jahre nach Sippen und Familien, namentlich gezählt,	36 Of the sons of Benjamin, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
37 diese Gemusterten vom Stamme Benjamin beliefen sich auf 35 400.	37 there were thirty-five thousand four hundred.
38 Die Abkömmlinge der Daniten, d. h. alle kriegstüchtigen Männer über 20 Jahre nach Sippen und Familien, namentlich gezählt,	38 Of the sons of Dan, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
39 diese Gemusterten vom Stamme Dan beliefen sich auf 62 700.	39 there were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.
40 Die Abkömmlinge der Aseriten, d. h. alle kriegstüchtigen Männer über 20 Jahre nach Sippen und Familien, namentlich gezählt,	40 Of the sons of Asher, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
41 diese Gemusterten vom Stamme Aser beliefen sich auf 41 500.	41 there were forty thousand and one thousand five hundred.
42 Die Abkömmlinge der Naphtaliten, d. h. alle kriegstüchtigen Männer über 20 Jahre nach Sippen und Familien, namentlich gezählt,	42 Of the sons of Naphtali, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
43 diese Gemusterten vom Stamme Naphtali beliefen sich auf 53 400.	43 there were fifty-three thousand four hundred.
44 Das sind die Gemusterten, die Moses, Aaron und Israels Fürsten feststellten; es waren zwölf Männer, je einer für seine Familie.	44 These are the ones who were numbered by Moses and Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each one by the houses of their kinships.
45 Insgesamt belief sich die Zahl aller gemusterten kriegsfähigen Israeliten, von 20 Jahren und darüber, nach ihren Familien geordnet,	45 And the entire number of the sons of Israel by their houses and families, from twenty years and above, who were able to go forth to war, were
46 alle diese Gemusterten beliefen sich auf 603 550.	46 six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty men.
47 Die Leviten nach ihrem väterlichen Stamme wurden nicht mit ihnen gemustert.	47 But the Levites in the tribes of their families were not numbered with them.
48 Der Herr sprach zu Moses:	48 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
49 "Nur den Stamm Levi sollst du nicht mustern und seine Kopfzahl nicht zusammen mit den anderen Israeliten aufnehmen!	49 “Do not number the tribe of Levi, neither shall you take a total of them with the sons of Israel.
50 Stelle die Leviten bei der Wohnstätte des Gesetzes, all ihren Geräten und allem, was zu ihr gehört, auf; sie sollen die Wohnstätte und all ihre Geräte tragen, bei ihr dienen und sich rings um sie lagern!	50 But appoint them over the tabernacle of the testimony, and all its vessels, and whatever pertains to the ceremonies. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles. And they shall be for the ministry, and they shall encamp all around the tabernacle.
51 Wechselt die Wohnstätte ihren Standort, mögen die Leviten sie abbrechen; verweilt sie an einem Ort, so sollen die Leviten sie wieder aufrichten; ein Nichtlevit aber, der herantritt, muß sterben.	51 When you would depart, the Levites shall take down the tabernacle. When you are to make camp, they shall set it up. Any outsider who will approach it shall be killed.
52 Die Israeliten aber sollen sich nach ihren Heerscharen, ein jeder bei seinem Lager und seinem Panier, lagern.	52 Now the sons of Israel shall make camp, each one by his companies and bands, as well as his army.
53 Doch die Leviten mögen rings um die Wohnstätte des Gesetzes Aufstellung nehmen, damit kein Zorngericht die Gemeinde der Israeliten treffe. Die Leviten sollen also den Dienst an der Wohnstätte des Gesetzes versehen."	53 Moreover, the Levites shall fix their tents all around the tabernacle, lest there be an indignation over the multitude of the sons of Israel. And they shall stand watch as guardians over the tabernacle of the testimony.”
54 Die Israeliten taten ganz so, wie der Herr dem Moses befohlen hatte.	54 Therefore, the sons of Israel acted according to everything that the Lord had instructed Moses.
