1 Es erging das Wort des Herrn an mich:	1 The word of the LORD came to me:
2 "Du sollst keine Frau nehmen und keine Söhne und Töchter haben an diesem Ort!	2 "You shall not take a wife, nor shall you have sons or daughters in this place.
3 Denn so spricht der Herr über die Söhne und Töchter, die an diesem Ort geboren werden, und über ihre Mütter, die sie gebären, und über ihre Väter, die sie in diesem Lande zeugen:	3 For thus says the LORD concerning the sons and daughters who are born in this place, and concerning the mothers who bore them and the fathers who begot them in this land:
4 Auf qualvolle Art müssen sie sterben, man wird sie nicht beklagen und nicht begraben; als Mist liegen sie auf dem Boden, durch Schwert und Hunger kommen sie um; ihre Leichen werden zu einem Fraß für die Vögel des Himmels und die Tiere des Landes."	4 They shall die of deadly diseases. They shall not be lamented, nor shall they be buried; they shall be as dung on the surface of the ground. They shall perish by the sword and by famine, and their dead bodies shall be food for the birds of the air and for the beasts of the earth.
5 Ja, so sprach der Herr: "Betritt kein Trauerhaus, geh nicht zur Totenklage, und bekunde niemandem Beileid; denn ich habe diesem Volke mein Wohlwollen entzogen" - Spruch des Herrn -, "die Huld und auch das Erbarmen.	5 "For thus says the LORD: Do not enter the house of mourning, or go to lament, or bemoan them; for I have taken away my peace from this people, says the LORD, my steadfast love and mercy.
6 In diesem Lande muß groß und klein sterben; man wird sie nicht begraben und nicht beklagen, niemand ritzt sich um ihretwillen die Haut, und niemand schert sich das Kopfhaar.	6 Both great and small shall die in this land; they shall not be buried, and no one shall lament for them or cut himself or make himself bald for them.
7 Man wird keinem das Trauerbrot brechen, um ihn zu trösten wegen eines Verstorbenen, und man reicht ihm nicht den Trostbecher um seines Vaters und seiner Mutter willen.	7 No one shall break bread for the mourner, to comfort him for the dead; nor shall any one give him the cup of consolation to drink for his father or his mother.
8 Auch ein Haus, in dem ein Gastmahl stattfindet, darfst du nicht betreten, um mit den Leuten beim Essen und Trinken zu sitzen!	8 You shall not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and drink.
9 Denn so spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Fürwahr, ich bringe zum Verstummen an diesem Ort vor euren Augen und in euren Tagen Jubelruf und Freudenruf, das Jauchzen des Bräutigams und der Braut!	9 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will make to cease from this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.
10 Tust du nun diesem Volke all diese Worte kund, und fragen sie dich: "Warum droht der Herr uns all dieses große Unheil an? Worin besteht unsere Schuld und Sünde, die wir gegen den Herrn, unseren Gott, begingen?",	10 "And when you tell this people all these words, and they say to you, 'Why has the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? What is our iniquity? What is the sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?'
11 dann sprich zu ihnen: Eure Väter verließen mich" - Spruch des Herrn - "und liefen anderen Göttern nach, dienten ihnen und beteten sie an, mich aber ließen sie im Stich, und mein Gesetz beobachteten sie nicht.	11 then you shall say to them: 'Because your fathers have forsaken me, says the LORD, and have gone after other gods and have served and worshiped them, and have forsaken me and have not kept my law,
12 Ihr aber triebet es noch schlimmer als eure Väter; siehe, jeder von euch folgte dem Starrsinn seines bösen Herzens, ohne auf mich zu hören.	12 and because you have done worse than your fathers, for behold, every one of you follows his stubborn evil will, refusing to listen to me;
13 Darum schleuderte ich euch fort aus diesem Land in ein Land, das euch und euren Vätern unbekannt war. Dort möget ihr anderen Göttern dienen bei Tag und bei Nacht, während ich euch kein Erbarmen schenke!"	13 therefore I will hurl you out of this land into a land which neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you shall serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.'
14 ["Darum siehe, es kommen Tage" - Spruch des Herrn -, "da wird es nicht mehr heißen: "So wahr der Herr lebt, der die Israeliten aus Ägypten heraufgeführt hat",	14 "Therefore, behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when it shall no longer be said, 'As the LORD lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,'
15 sondern man wird sagen: "So wahr der Herr lebt, der die Israeliten aus dem Nordland heraufgeführt hat und aus allen Ländern, wohin er sie versprengt hatte!" Ich bringe sie in ihr Heimatland, das ich ihren Vätern verliehen habe."]	15 but 'As the LORD lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.' For I will bring them back to their own land which I gave to their fathers.
16 "Fürwahr, ich sende nach zahlreichen Fischern" - Spruch des Herrn -, "die fischen sie weg; hernach sende ich nach vielen Jägern, die werden nach ihnen jagen von jedem Berg und von jedem Hügel herab und aus den Felsklüften heraus.	16 "Behold, I am sending for many fishers, says the LORD, and they shall catch them; and afterwards I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks.
17 Denn meine Augen sind auf alle ihre Wege gerichtet. Sie sind mir nicht verborgen, und ihre Schuld ist meinen Augen nicht verhüllt.	17 For my eyes are upon all their ways; they are not hid from me, nor is their iniquity concealed from my eyes.
18 So vergelte ich zunächst in entsprechendem Maße ihre Schuld und Sünde, weil sie mein Land entweihten durch das Aas ihrer Scheusale und ihrer Greueltaten, die mein Erbteil erfüllen."	18 And I will doubly recompense their iniquity and their sin, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable idols, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations."
19 "Herr, meine Stärke und meine Burg, meine Zuflucht am Tage der Not, Völker kommen zu dir vom Ende der Erde und sprechen: "Unsere Väter besaßen nur Trug, Wahngestalten und nichtsnutzige Götzen!	19 O LORD, my strength and my stronghold, my refuge in the day of trouble, to thee shall the nations come from the ends of the earth and say: "Our fathers have inherited nought but lies, worthless things in which there is no profit.
20 Kann ein Mensch sich Götter machen? Das sind doch keine Götter!"	20 Can man make for himself gods? Such are no gods!"
21 "Darum wohlan, ich bringe sie zur Erkenntnis, meine Stärke und Macht will ich ihnen diesmal zeigen! Sie sollen erkennen, daß mein Name "Herr" ist."	21 "Therefore, behold, I will make them know, this once I will make them know my power and my might, and they shall know that my name is the LORD."
