Psalmen 71

1 Bei dir, Herr, suche ich Zuflucht, möge ich niemals enttäuscht werden!	1 A Psalm according to Solomon.
2 In deiner Gerechtigkeit rette mich und befreie mich! Neige dein Ohr mir zu und bring mir Hilfe!	2 Give your judgment, O God, to the king, and your justice to the king’s son, to judge your people with justice and your poor with judgment.
3 Sei mir ein sicherer Fels, eine feste Burg, um mir zu helfen! Ja, mein Fels und meine Feste bist du!	3 Let the mountains take up peace for the people, and the hills, justice.
4 Mein Gott, befreie mich aus der Hand des Frevlers, aus der Faust des Verbrechers und Bedrückers!	4 He will judge the poor of the people, and he will bring salvation to the sons of the poor. And he will humble the false accuser.
5 Du bist ja, Herr, meine Hoffnung, mein Vertrauen, Herr, von Jugend an.	5 And he will remain, with the sun and before the moon, from generation to generation.
6 Auf dich verlasse ich mich vom Mutterleib an, vom Mutterschoß an bist du mein Hort. Dir gilt mein Lobpreis allezeit.	6 He will descend like rain upon fleece, and like showers showering upon the earth.
7 Wie ein Schreckenszeichen war ich für viele, doch du bist meine starke Zuflucht.	7 In his days, justice will rise like the sun, with abundance of peace, until the moon is taken away.
8 Mein Mund ist voll deines Lobes, den ganzen Tag voll deiner Verherrlichung.	8 And he will rule from sea to sea and from the river to the limits of the whole world.
9 Verwirf mich nicht zur Zeit des Alters, wenn die Kraft mir schwindet, verlaß mich nicht!	9 In his sight, the Ethiopians will fall prostrate, and his enemies will lick the ground.
10 Denn meine Feinde reden über mich; die auf mein Leben lauern, beraten sich gemeinsam.	10 The kings of Tarshish and the islands will offer gifts. The kings of Arabia and of Seba will bring gifts.
11 Sie sagen: "Gott hat ihn verlassen! Verfolgt und ergreift ihn; er hat ja keinen Retter!"	11 And all the kings of the earth shall adore him. All nations will serve him.
12 Gott, sei mir nicht fern! Mein Gott, eile mir zu Hilfe!	12 For he will free the poor from the powerful, and the poor one who has no helper.
13 Vor Scham vergehen sollen alle, die meinem Leben nachstellen! In Schimpf und Schande sollen sich hüllen, die mein Unglück erstreben!	13 He will spare the poor and the indigent, and he will bring salvation to the souls of the poor.
14 Ich aber will allezeit hoffen und all deinen Ruhm noch mehren!	14 He will redeem their souls from usuries and from iniquity, and their names shall be honorable in his sight.
15 Mein Mund verkündet deine Gerechtigkeit, zu jeder Zeit deine Hilfe. Denn die Schreibkunst verstehe ich nicht.	15 And he will live, and to him will be given from the gold of Arabia, and by him they will always adore. They will bless him all day long.
16 Ich komme um der Großtaten des Herrn willen; einzig deine Gerechtigkeit, Herr, besinge ich.	16 And there will be a firmament on earth, at the summits of mountains: its fruits will be extolled above Lebanon, and those of the city will flourish like the grass of the earth.
17 Gott, du hast mich belehrt von Jugend an, und bis jetzt verkünde ich deine Wunder.	17 May his name be blessed forever; may his name remain before the sun. And all the tribes of the earth will be blessed in him. All nations will magnify him.
18 Auch wenn ich alt werde und grau, Gott, verlaß mich nicht, bis ich jedem künftigen Geschlecht berichte von deinem (machtvollen) Arm!	18 Blessed is the Lord, God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.
19 Gott, dein Machterweis und deine Gerechtigkeit reichen bis zur Himmelshöhe. Großes hast du vollbracht; Gott, wer ist dir gleich?	19 And blessed is the name of his majesty in eternity. And all the earth will be filled with his majesty. Amen. Amen.
20 Du ließest mich Nöte erleiden, viele und schlimme. Du wirst mich wieder beleben und aus den Tiefen der Erde mich wieder heraufführen.	20 The praises of David, the son of Jesse, have reached an end.
21 Mehre meine Würde und spende von neuem mir Trost!
22 Dann will ich dich preisen mit Harfenklang, deine Treue preisen, mein Gott! Auf der Zither will ich dir spielen, Heiliger Israels!
23 Meine Lippen sollen frohlocken bei meinem Spiel und meine Seele, die du erlöst hast!
24 Auch meine Zunge soll allezeit von deiner Gerechtigkeit reden: wie in Schande und Schmach geriet, wer mein Unglück erstrebte.
