1 König David wandte sich weiterhin zur ganzen Versammlung: "Mein Sohn Salomo, den allein Gott erwählt hat, ist jung und zart. Groß aber ist das Werk; denn nicht für Menschen ist die Tempelburg bestimmt, sondern für Gott, den Herrn.	1 King David then said to the whole assembly: "My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is still young and immature; the work, however, is great, for this castle is not intended for man, but for the LORD God.
2 Mit all meiner Kraft habe ich denn für das Haus meines Gottes Gold für die goldenen Geräte beschafft, Silber für die silbernen, Erz für die ehernen, Eisen für die eisernen, Holz für die hölzernen, dazu Karneolsteine mit Einfassungen, schwarze und bunte Steine sowie allerlei Edelsteine und Alabaster in Mengen.	2 For this reason I have stored up for the house of my God, as far as I was able, gold for what will be made of gold, silver for what will be made of silver, bronze for what will be made of bronze, iron for what will be made of iron, wood for what will be made of wood, onyx stones and settings for them, carnelian and mosaic stones, every other kind of precious stone, and great quantities of marble.
3 Aus Liebe zum Haus meines Gottes spende ich auch noch meinen persönlichen Besitz an Gold und Silber für das Haus meines Gottes über das hinaus, was ich für das Heiligtum herangeschafft habe:	3 But now, because of the delight I take in the house of my God, in addition to all that I stored up for the holy house, I give to the house of my God my personal fortune in gold and silver:
4 nämlich dreitausend Talente Ophirgold und siebentausend Talente geläutertes Silber, um die Wände der Räume zu überziehen,	4 three thousand talents of Ophir gold, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, for overlaying the walls of the rooms,
5 damit Gold da sei für die goldenen und Silber für die silbernen Gegenstände und für alle Arbeiten der Kunsthandwerker. Wer ist nun bereit, freiwillig heute für den Herrn zu spenden?"	5 for the various utensils to be made of gold and silver, and for every work that is to be done by artisans. Now, who else is willing to contribute generously this day to the LORD?"
6 Da zeigten die Fürsten der Familien, die Fürsten der Stämme Israels, die Obersten der Tausend- und Hundertschaften und die obersten Beamten des königlichen Dienstes ihre Freigebigkeit.	6 Then the heads of the families, the leaders of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and the overseers of the king's affairs came forward willingly
7 Sie spendeten zugunsten des Gotteshauses fünftausend Talente Gold, zehntausend Dareiken, zehntausend Talente Silber, achtzehntausend Talente Erz und hunderttausend Talente Eisen.	7 and contributed for the service of the house of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.
8 Wer Edelsteine hatte, gab sie zum Schatz des Herrentempels in die Hand des Gerschoniten Jechiel.	8 Those who had precious stones gave them into the keeping of Jehiel the Gershonite for the treasury of the house of the LORD.
9 Das Volk freute sich über ihre Freigebigkeit; denn sie hatten aus ganzem Herzen willig für den Herrn gespendet. Auch der König David hatte eine große Freude.	9 The people rejoiced over these free-will offerings, which had been contributed to the LORD wholeheartedly. King David also rejoiced greatly.
10 David pries den Herrn vor der ganzen Gemeinde und sprach: "Gepriesen bist du, Herr, Gott Israels, unseres Vaters, von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit.	10 Then David blessed the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, praying in these words: "Blessed may you be, O LORD, God of Israel our father, from eternity to eternity.
11 Dein, o Herr, ist die Größe, die Stärke, der Ruhm, der Glanz und die Majestät; denn alles im Himmel und auf Erden gehört dir! Dir, o Herr, gebührt das Königtum. Als Haupt überragst du alles.	11 "Yours, O LORD, are grandeur and power, majesty, splendor, and glory. For all in heaven and on earth is yours; yours, O LORD, is the sovereignty; you are exalted as head over all.
12 Reichtum und Ehre kommen von dir. Über alles befiehlst du. In deiner Hand liegen Kraft und Stärke. In deiner Hand liegt es, Größe und Macht einem jeden zu verleihen.	12 "Riches and honor are from you, and you have dominion over all. In your hand are power and might; it is yours to give grandeur and strength to all.
13 Und nun, unser Gott, danken wir dir und preisen deinen herrlichen Namen.	13 Therefore, our God, we give you thanks and we praise the majesty of your name."
14 Denn wer bin ich, und was ist mein Volk, daß wir die Kraft aufgebracht hätten, solche Spenden zu geben? Von dir kommt ja alles, und was aus deiner Hand stammte, haben wir dir wieder gegeben.	14 "But who am I, and who are my people, that we should have the means to contribute so freely? For everything is from you, and we only give you what we have received from you.
15 Denn Fremdlinge sind wir vor deinem Antlitz und Beisassen wie unsere Väter alle. Wie ein Schatten sind unsere Tage auf Erden, und da ist nichts zu hoffen.	15 For we stand before you as aliens: we are only your guests, like all our fathers. Our life on earth is like a shadow that does not abide.
16 Herr, unser Gott, alle diese Mengen, die wir bereitgestellt haben, um dir ein Haus zu bauen für deinen heiligen Namen, stammen aus deiner Hand, und dir gehört alles.	16 O LORD our God, all this wealth that we have brought together to build you a house in honor of your holy name comes from you and is entirely yours.
17 Ich weiß, mein Gott, daß du die Herzen prüfst und an Aufrichtigkeit Gefallen hast. Mit aufrichtigem Herzen habe ich selbst dies alles gestiftet, und nun habe ich auch dein Volk, das hier gegenwärtig ist, mit Freuden dir spenden sehen.	17 I know, O my God, that you put hearts to the test and that you take pleasure in uprightness. With a sincere heart I have willingly given all these things, and now with joy I have seen your people here present also giving to you generously.
18 Herr, Gott unserer Väter Abraham, Isaak und Israel, erhalte eine solche Gesinnungsart für immer in den Herzen deines Volkes und lenke ihr Herz zu dir hin!	18 O LORD, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, keep such thoughts in the hearts and minds of your people forever, and direct their hearts toward you.
19 Meinem Sohne Salomo gib ein entschiedenes Herz, deine Befehle, Anordnungen und Gebote zu halten, alles auszuführen und die Tempelburg zu erbauen, die ich vorbereitet habe!"	19 Give to my son Solomon a wholehearted desire to keep your commandments, precepts, and statutes, that he may carry out all these plans and build the castle for which I have made preparation."
20 Dann befahl David der ganzen Versammlung: "Preiset den Herrn, euren Gott!" Und die ganze Versammlung pries den Herrn, den Gott ihrer Väter. Sie verneigten sich und warfen sich nieder vor dem Herrn und vor dem König.	20 Then David besought the whole assembly, "Now bless the LORD your God!" And the whole assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, bowing down and prostrating themselves before the LORD and before the king.
21 Am folgenden Tag opferten sie dem Herrn Schlachtopfer und brachten ihm Brandopfer dar, tausend Stiere, tausend Widder und tausend Lämmer mit den zugehörigen Trankopfern, und zwar Schlachtopfer in einer Menge, die der Gesamtheit Israels entsprach.	21 On the following day they offered sacrifices and holocausts to the LORD, a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, together with their libations and many other sacrifices for all Israel;
22 Sie aßen und tranken vor dem Herrn an jenem Tag mit großer Freude. Salomo, den Sohn Davids, machten sie erneut zum König und salbten ihn zum Fürsten für den Herrn, und den Zadok zum Priester.	22 and on that day they ate and drank in the LORD'S presence with great rejoicing. Then for a second time they proclaimed David's son Solomon king, and they anointed him as the LORD'S prince, and Zadok as priest.
23 Salomo setzte sich auf den Thron des Herrn als König an Stelle seines Vaters David. Er hatte Erfolg, und ganz Israel gehorchte ihm.	23 Thereafter Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king in place of his father David; he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.
24 Alle Fürsten und Helden und auch alle Söhne des Königs David unterstellten sich willig dem König Salomo.	24 All the leaders and warriors, and also all the other sons of King David, swore allegiance to King Solomon.
25 Der Herr aber erhöhte Salomo überaus in den Augen Gesamtisraels und verlieh ihm ein glänzendes Königtum, wie es vor ihm kein König über Israel besessen hatte.	25 And the LORD exalted Solomon greatly in the eyes of all Israel, giving him a glorious reign such as had not been enjoyed by any king over Israel before him.
26 David, der Sohn Isais, herrschte als König über ganz Israel.	26 Thus David, the son of Jesse, had reigned over all Israel.
27 Die Zeit, in der er über Israel König war, betrug vierzig Jahre. In Hebron herrschte er sieben und in Jerusalem dreiunddreißig Jahre.	27 The time that he reigned over Israel was forty years: in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem thirty-three.
28 Er starb in hohem Alter, satt an Lebenstagen, Reichtum und Glanz. Sein Sohn Salomo folgte ihm in der Königsherrschaft.	28 He died at a ripe old age, rich in years and wealth and glory, and his son Solomon succeeded him as king.
29 Die Geschichte des Königs David, die frühere sowie die spätere, ist aufgeschrieben in der Darstellung des Sehers Samuel, in der Geschichte des Propheten Natan und in der Geschichte des Sehers Gad,	29 Now the deeds of King David, first and last, can be found written in the history of Samuel the seer, the history of Nathan the prophet, and the history of Gad the seer,
30 und zwar mit Einschluß seiner ganzen Regierung, seiner Machtentfaltung und der Zeitläufe, die über ihn, über Israel und über alle Königreiche der Länder dahingegangen sind.	30 together with the particulars of his reign and valor, and of the events that affected him and all Israel and all the kingdoms of the surrounding lands.
