Hosea 5

NEW JERUSALEM	Pattloch Bibel
1 Hear this, you priests, listen, House of Israel, pay attention, royal House, for it is you who have justice inyour care, but you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net outspread on Tabor.	1 Ihr Priester, hört dies! Haus Israel, merk auf! Königspalast, vernimm es! Denn euch obliegt die Rechtspflege. Ihr wurdet jedoch zur Falle für Mizpa, zum Netz, gespannt auf dem Tabor,
2 They have dug the ditch deep at Shittim and so I am going to punish them al .	2 eine tiefe Grube in Schittim. Ich aber werde euch alle züchtigen.
3 Ephraim have I known, Israel is not hidden from me; and yet, Ephraim, you have played the whore,Israel is befouled.	3 Ich kenne Ephraim, und Israel ist vor mir nicht verborgen; denn jetzt hast du, Ephraim, Unzucht getrieben, Israel ist unrein geworden.
4 Their deeds do not al ow them to return to their God, since an urge to play the whore possesses themand they no longer know Yahweh.	4 Ihr Treiben gestattet ihnen nicht, umzukehren zu ihrem Gott. Denn in ihrer Mitte herrscht Unzuchtsgeist, aber den Herrn kennen sie nicht.
5 Israel's arrogance is his accuser, the guilt of Israel and Ephraim is their undoing, Judah too wil beundone with them.	5 Gegen Israel zeugt sein Stolz, Ephraim stürzt durch eigene Schuld; es strauchelt auch Juda mit ihm.
6 Though they go in search of Yahweh with their sheep and cattle, they wil not find him; he haswithdrawn from them.	6 Mit ihren Schafen und Rindern ziehen sie hin, um den Herrn zu suchen; aber sie finden ihn nicht, er hat sich ihnen entzogen.
7 They have betrayed Yahweh because they have fathered bastards; now the new moon wil devourthem and their fields.	7 Sie handelten untreu gegen den Herrn, uneheliche Kinder zeugten sie; jetzt werden ihre Felder vom Glutwind verzehrt.
8 Sound the horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in Ramah, raise the war cry in Beth-Aven, 'We are behind you,Benjamin!'	8 Zu Gibea stoßt ins Kriegshorn, in die Trompete zu Rama; weckt Bet-Awen, schreckt Benjamin auf!
9 When the day of punishment comes, Ephraim wil be a wasteland; on the tribes of Israel I havepronounced certain doom.	9 Ephraim wird zur Wüste am Tag der Bestrafung, gegen Israels Stämme verkünde ich, was feststeht.
10 The rulers of Judah act like men who move the boundary stone; I shall pour my wrath out on them likea flood.	10 Judas Führer handeln wie Leute, die Grenzen verrücken, über sie gieße ich meinen Zorn aus wie Wasser.
11 Ephraim is oppressed, crushed by the sentence, for having deliberately fol owed a Lie.	11 Ephraim übt Gewalttat, beugt das Recht; denn willig läuft es dem Nichts nach.
12 Because of this, I shall be like ringworm for Ephraim and like gangrene for the House of Judah.	12 Ich aber bin wie Eiter für Ephraim, wie Fäulnis für Judas Haus.
13 Once Ephraim realised that he was sick and Judah that he had an ulcer, Ephraim then went toAssyria, he sent messengers to the Great King; but he has no power to cure you or to heal you of your sore;	13 Ephraim sah seine Krankheit, Juda seine eiternde Wunde; da ging Ephraim nach Assur und sandte zum Großkönig. Doch dieser kann euch nicht heilen, von der Eiterbeule euch nicht befreien.
14 for I shal be like a lion to Ephraim, like a young lion to the House of Judah; I myself shal rend them,then go my way, shal carry them off, beyond hope of rescue.	14 Fürwahr, ich bin wie ein Löwe für Ephraim, wie ein Junglöwe für Judas Haus! Ich, ich zerreiße und gehe davon, schleppe weg, und retten kann niemand.
15 I shal go back to my place until they confess their guilt and seek me, seek me eagerly in their distress.	15 An meine Stätte ziehe ich mich zurück, bis daß sie ihre Schuld büßen und mein Antlitz suchen, in ihrer Not nach mir begehren.
