1 »Denn wisset wohl: in jenen Tagen und zu jener Zeit, wo ich das Geschick Judas und Jerusalems wenden werde,	1 Yes, in those days, and at that time, when I would restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 da will ich alle Heidenvölker versammeln und sie in das Tal Josaphat hinabführen, um dort mit ihnen ins Gericht zu gehen wegen Israels, meines Volkes und meines Eigentums, weil sie es unter die Heiden zerstreut und mein Land aufgeteilt haben;	2 I will assemble all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat, And I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of my people and my inheritance, Israel; Because they have scattered them among the nations, and divided my land.
3 und über mein Volk haben sie das Los geworfen und Knaben (oder: Jünglinge) als Preis für Lustdirnen hingegeben und die Mädchen um Wein verkauft, den sie vertrunken haben.	3 Over my people they have cast lots; they gave a boy for a harlot, and sold a girl for the wine they drank.
4 Und was habt auch ihr mit mir zu schaffen (= was wollt ihr von mir), Tyrus und Sidon und alle ihr Bezirke des Philisterlandes? Wollt ihr mir etwas vergelten, was ich euch angetan habe, oder wollt ihr selbst mir etwas antun? Schnell und unverzüglich will ich euer Tun auf euer Haupt zurückfallen lassen!	4 Moreover, what are you to me, Tyre and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Would you take vengeance upon me by some action? But if you do take action against me, swiftly, speedily, I will return your deed upon your own head.
5 Ihr habt ja doch mein Silber und mein Gold geraubt und meine wertvollsten Kleinodien in eure Paläste (oder: Tempel) gebracht;	5 You took my silver and my gold, and brought my precious treasures into your temples!
6 und die Kinder Judas und die Kinder Jerusalems habt ihr an die Griechen verkauft, um sie weit von ihrer Heimat zu entfernen.	6 You sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks, removing them far from their own country!
7 Wisset wohl: ich will sie wieder aufbrechen lassen von dem Orte, wohin ihr sie verkauft habt, und will euer Tun auf euer Haupt zurückfallen lassen;	7 See, I will rouse them from the place into which you have sold them, and I will return your deed upon your own head.
8 und ich will eure Söhne und Töchter an die Kinder (= Bewohner) Judas verkaufen, die werden sie dann wieder an die Sabäer verhandeln, an ein fernwohnendes Volk; denn der HERR hat’s geboten.«	8 I will sell your sons and your daughters to the people of Judah, who shall sell them to the Sabeans, a nation far off. Indeed, the LORD has spoken.
9 »Macht dieses unter den Heidenvölkern bekannt: ›Rüstet euch zum heiligen Kriege! Bietet die geübten Streiter auf, laßt alle Kriegsleute aufmarschieren und anrücken!	9 Declare this among the nations: proclaim a war, rouse the warriors to arms! Let all the soldiers report and march!
10 Schmiedet eure Pflugscharen zu Schwertern um und eure Winzermesser zu Lanzen (-spitzen)! Der Feigling sage: Ich bin ein Held!	10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak man say, "I am a warrior!"
11 Eilt und kommt herbei, alle ihr Heidenvölker ringsum, und scharet euch zusammen!‹« – Dorthin, HERR, laß deine Streiter hinabziehen! –	11 Hasten and come, all you neighboring peoples, assemble there! (Bring down, O Lord, your warriors!)
12 »Die Völker sollen sich aufmachen und in das Tal Josaphat hinabziehen; denn dort will ich zu Gericht sitzen über alle Heidenvölker ringsum.	12 Let the nations bestir themselves and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; For there I will sit in judgment upon all the neighboring nations.
13 Legt die Sichel an, denn die Ernte ist reif! Kommt und stampft, denn die Kelter ist voll, ja, die Kufen fließen über, denn ihre Gottlosigkeit ist groß!« –	13 Apply the sickle, for the harvest is ripe; Come and tread, for the wine press is full; The vats overflow, for great is their malice.
14 Scharen über Scharen treffen im Tal der Entscheidung ein, denn nahe ist der Tag des HERRN im Tal der Entscheidung.	14 Crowd upon crowd in the valley of decision; For near is the day of the LORD in the valley of decision.
15 Sonne und Mond verfinstern sich, und die Sterne verlieren ihren Glanz;	15 Sun and moon are darkened, and the stars withhold their brightness.
16 der HERR brüllt (= donnert) vom Zion her und läßt seine Stimme (d.h. seinen Donner) aus Jerusalem erschallen, so daß Himmel und Erde erbeben; aber für sein Volk ist der HERR eine Zuflucht und eine feste Burg für die Kinder Israel.	16 The LORD roars from Zion, and from Jerusalem raises his voice; The heavens and the earth quake, but the LORD is a refuge to his people, a stronghold to the men of Israel.
17 »Da werdet ihr denn erkennen, daß ich, der HERR, euer Gott bin, der ich auf dem Zion wohne, meinem heiligen Berge; und Jerusalem wird dann heiliges Gebiet sein, welches Ausländer nie wieder durchziehen werden.«	17 Then shall you know that I, the LORD, am your God, dwelling on Zion, my holy mountain; Jerusalem shall be holy, and strangers shall pass through her no more.
18 »Und dann, an jenem Tage, wird es geschehen: da werden die Berge von Most triefen und die Hügel von Milch überfließen und alle Rinnsale Judas voll Wassers strömen; und ein Quell wird aus dem Hause des HERRN hervorbrechen und das Akaziental bewässern.	18 And then, on that day, the mountains shall drip new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk; And the channels of Judah shall flow with water: A fountain shall issue from the house of the LORD, to water the Valley of Shittim.
19 Ägypten wird zur Wüste werden und Edom zur öden Steppe wegen der Freveltat an den Kindern Judas, weil sie unschuldiges Blut in deren Lande vergossen haben.	19 Egypt shall be a waste, and Edom a desert waste, Because of violence done to the people of Judah, because they shed innocent blood in their land.
20 Juda aber wird ewig bewohnt bleiben und Jerusalem von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht;	20 But Judah shall abide forever, and Jerusalem for all generations.
21 und ich werde ihr Blut rächen, das ich (bisher) nicht gerächt habe; und der HERR wird auf dem Zion wohnen.«	21 I will avenge their blood, and not leave it unpunished. The LORD dwells in Zion.
