2 Dies aber sind die Namen der Söhne Gersoms: Libni und Simei.	2 These are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.
3 Und die Söhne Kehaths waren: Amram, Jizhar, Hebron und Ussiel.	3 Sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, Uzziel.
4 Die Söhne Meraris waren: Mahli und Musi. – Dies aber sind die Geschlechter der Leviten nach ihren Familienvätern:	4 Sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the levitical clans according to their father.
5 Von Gersom stammten: sein Sohn Libni, dessen Sohn Jahath, dessen Sohn Simma,	5 Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,

7 Die Söhne Kehaths waren: sein Sohn Amminadab, dessen Sohn Korah, dessen Sohn Assir,	7 Sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,
8 dessen Sohn Elkana, dessen Sohn Ebjasaph, dessen Sohn Assir,	8 Elkanah his son, Ebiasaph his son, Assir his son.

10 Und die Söhne Elkanas waren: Amasai und Ahimoth;	10 Sons of Elkanah: Amasai and Ahimoth.
11 dessen Sohn war Elkana, dessen Sohn Zophai, dessen Sohn Nahath,	11 Elkanah his son, Zophai his son, Nahath his son,

16 Die folgenden sind es, die David zur Leitung des Gesangs im Tempel des HERRN bestellte, nachdem die Lade dort einen festen Platz gefunden hatte;	16 These are the men whom David nominated to lead the singing in the Temple of Yahweh after the arkhad come to rest there.
17 sie dienten aber als Sänger vor der Wohnung des Offenbarungszeltes, bis Salomo den Tempel des HERRN in Jerusalem erbaut hatte, und verrichteten ihr Amt nach den ihnen erteilten Weisungen.	17 They were responsible for the singing before the Dwel ing, the Tent of Meeting, until Solomon hadbuilt the Temple of Yahweh in Jerusalem and then continued their customary duties.

33 Ihre Geschlechtsgenossen aber, die übrigen Leviten, waren für den gesamten Dienst an der Wohnung des Tempels Gottes bestellt;	33 Their brother Levites were dedicated for al the other duties of the Dwel ing, the Temple of God,

39 Folgendes aber sind ihre Wohnsitze nach ihren Niederlassungen in ihrem Gebiet: Den Nachkommen Aarons von dem Geschlecht der Kehathiten – denn auf sie war das erste Los gefallen –,	39 These were their places of settlement within their prescribed territory: The sons of Aaron of theKohathite clan -- for to these the first lot fel -
40 ihnen gab man Hebron im Lande Juda samt den zugehörigen Weidetriften rings um sie her;	40 were given Hebron in the territory of Judah with its surrounding pasture lands.
41 die zur Stadt gehörigen Felder aber und die zugehörigen Dörfer übergab man Kaleb, dem Sohne Jephunnes.	41 But the open country of the town and its dependencies were given to Caleb son of Jephunneh.
42 Weiter übergab man den Nachkommen Aarons die Zufluchtstadt Hebron sowie Libna samt den zugehörigen Weidetriften, ferner Jatthir und Esthemoa samt den zugehörigen Weidetriften,	42 The sons of Aaron were also given the cities of refuge, Hebron, Libnah with its pasture lands, Jattir,Eshtemoa with its pasture lands.
43 Holon (vgl. Jos 21,15) samt den zugehörigen Weidetriften, Debir samt den zugehörigen Weidetriften,	43 Hilen with its pasture lands, Debir with its pasture lands,

46 Die übrigen Nachkommen Kehaths aber erhielten nach ihren Geschlechtern vom Stamme Ephraim und vom Stamme Dan und vom halben Stamm Manasse durchs Los zehn Städte.	46 The remaining sons of Kohath were al otted ten towns from the clans of the tribe, that is, from the half-tribe of Manasseh.
47 Die Nachkommen Gersoms erhielten nach ihren Geschlechtern vom Stamme Issaschar, vom Stamme Asser, vom Stamme Naphthali und vom halben Stamm Manasse in Basan dreizehn Städte. –	47 The sons of Gershom and their clans were allotted thirteen towns from the tribe of Issachar, from thetribe of Asher, from the tribe of Naphtali and from the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan.
48 Die Nachkommen Meraris erhielten nach ihren Geschlechtern vom Stamme Ruben, vom Stamme Gad und vom Stamme Sebulon durchs Los zwölf Städte.	48 The sons of Merari and their clans were al otted twelve towns from the tribe of Reuben, from the tribeof Gad and from the tribe of Zebulun.
49 So übergaben die Israeliten den Leviten die Städte samt den zugehörigen Weidetriften;	49 The Israelites gave these towns with their pasture lands to the Levites.
50 und zwar übergaben sie durchs Los jene namentlich angeführten Städte aus den Stämmen Juda, Simeon und Benjamin.	50 From the tribe of the sons of Judah, from the tribe of the sons of Simeon and from the tribe of the sonsof Benjamin, they also al otted them those towns to which they gave their names.
51 Was dann die übrigen Geschlechter der Nachkommen Kahaths anbetrifft, so erhielten sie die Städte, die ihnen durchs Los zufielen, vom Stamme Ephraim abgetreten;	51 Towns from the tribe of Ephraim were also assigned to the territory of some clans of the sons ofKohath.

55 dazu vom halben Stamm Manasse: Aner (oder: Taanach? vgl. Jos 21,25) samt den zugehörigen Weidetriften und Jibleam samt den zugehörigen Weidetriften – diese übergab man den Familien der übrigen Nachkommen Kahaths.	55 and from the half-tribe of Manasseh, Aner with its pasture lands and Bileam with its pasture lands.
