εις το τελος υπερ ιδιθουν τω ασαφ ψαλμος | 1 Unto the end. For Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. |
φωνη μου προς κυριον εκεκραξα φωνη μου προς τον θεον και προσεσχεν μοι | 2 I cried out to the Lord with my voice, to God with my voice, and he attended to me. |
εν ημερα θλιψεως μου τον θεον εξεζητησα ταις χερσιν μου νυκτος εναντιον αυτου και ουκ ηπατηθην απηνηνατο παρακληθηναι η ψυχη μου | 3 In the days of my tribulation, I sought God, with my hands opposite him in the night, and I was not deceived. My soul refused to be consoled. |
εμνησθην του θεου και ευφρανθην ηδολεσχησα και ωλιγοψυχησεν το πνευμα μου διαψαλμα | 4 I was mindful of God, and I was delighted, and I was distressed, and my spirit fell away. |
προκατελαβοντο φυλακας οι οφθαλμοι μου εταραχθην και ουκ ελαλησα | 5 My eyes anticipated the vigils. I was disturbed, and I did not speak. |
διελογισαμην ημερας αρχαιας και ετη αιωνια εμνησθην και εμελετησα | 6 I considered the days of antiquity, and I held the years of eternity in my mind. |
νυκτος μετα της καρδιας μου ηδολεσχουν και εσκαλλεν το πνευμα μου | 7 And I meditated in the night with my heart, and I was distressed, and I examined my spirit. |
μη εις τους αιωνας απωσεται κυριος και ου προσθησει του ευδοκησαι ετι | 8 So then, will God reject for eternity? Will he not continue to allow himself to show favor? |
η εις τελος το ελεος αυτου αποκοψει απο γενεας εις γενεαν | 9 Or, will he cut off his mercy in the end, from generation to generation? |
η επιλησεται του οικτιρησαι ο θεος η συνεξει εν τη οργη αυτου τους οικτιρμους αυτου διαψαλμα | 10 And would God ever forget to be merciful? Or, would he, in his wrath, restrict his mercies? |
και ειπα νυν ηρξαμην αυτη η αλλοιωσις της δεξιας του υψιστου | 11 And I said, “Now I have begun. This change is from the right hand of the Most High.” |
εμνησθην των εργων κυριου οτι μνησθησομαι απο της αρχης των θαυμασιων σου | 12 I was mindful of the works of the Lord. For I will be mindful from the beginning of your wonders, |
και μελετησω εν πασιν τοις εργοις σου και εν τοις επιτηδευμασιν σου αδολεσχησω | 13 and I will meditate on all your works. And I will take part in your intentions. |
ο θεος εν τω αγιω η οδος σου τις θεος μεγας ως ο θεος ημων | 14 Your way, O God, is in what is holy. Which God is great like our God? |
συ ει ο θεος ο ποιων θαυμασια εγνωρισας εν τοις λαοις την δυναμιν σου | 15 You are the God who performs miracles. You have made your virtue known among the peoples. |
ελυτρωσω εν τω βραχιονι σου τον λαον σου τους υιους ιακωβ και ιωσηφ διαψαλμα | 16 With your arm, you have redeemed your people, the sons of Jacob and of Joseph. |
ειδοσαν σε υδατα ο θεος ειδοσαν σε υδατα και εφοβηθησαν και εταραχθησαν αβυσσοι πληθος ηχους υδατων | 17 The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you, and they were afraid, and the depths were stirred up. |
φωνην εδωκαν αι νεφελαι και γαρ τα βελη σου διαπορευονται | 18 Great was the sound of the waters. The clouds uttered a voice. For your arrows also pass by. |
φωνη της βροντης σου εν τω τροχω εφαναν αι αστραπαι σου τη οικουμενη εσαλευθη και εντρομος εγενηθη η γη | 19 The voice of your thunder is like a wheel. Your flashes have illuminated the whole world. The earth has quaked and trembled. |
εν τη θαλασση η οδος σου και αι τριβοι σου εν υδασι πολλοις και τα ιχνη σου ου γνωσθησονται | 20 Your way is through the sea, and your paths are through many waters. And your traces will not be known. |
ωδηγησας ως προβατα τον λαον σου εν χειρι μωυση και ααρων | 21 You have conducted your people like sheep, by the hand of Moses and Aaron. |
