τω δαυιδ αγαλλιασθε δικαιοι εν τω κυριω τοις ευθεσι πρεπει αινεσις | 1 A Psalm of David. Exult in the Lord, you just ones; together praise the upright. |
εξομολογεισθε τω κυριω εν κιθαρα εν ψαλτηριω δεκαχορδω ψαλατε αυτω | 2 Confess to the Lord with stringed instruments; sing psalms to him with the psaltery, the instrument of ten strings. |
ασατε αυτω ασμα καινον καλως ψαλατε εν αλαλαγμω | 3 Sing to him a new song. Sing psalms to him skillfully, with loud exclamation. |
οτι ευθης ο λογος του κυριου και παντα τα εργα αυτου εν πιστει | 4 For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his works are in faith. |
αγαπα ελεημοσυνην και κρισιν του ελεους κυριου πληρης η γη | 5 He loves mercy and judgment. The earth is full of the mercy of the Lord. |
τω λογω του κυριου οι ουρανοι εστερεωθησαν και τω πνευματι του στοματος αυτου πασα η δυναμις αυτων | 6 By the word of the Lord, the heavens were established, and all their power, by the Spirit of his mouth: |
συναγων ως ασκον υδατα θαλασσης τιθεις εν θησαυροις αβυσσους | 7 gathering together the waters of the sea, as if in a container, placing the depths in storage. |
φοβηθητω τον κυριον πασα η γη απ' αυτου δε σαλευθητωσαν παντες οι κατοικουντες την οικουμενην | 8 Let all the earth fear the Lord, and may all the inhabitants of the world quake before him. |
οτι αυτος ειπεν και εγενηθησαν αυτος ενετειλατο και εκτισθησαν | 9 For he spoke, and they became. He commanded, and they were created. |
κυριος διασκεδαζει βουλας εθνων αθετει δε λογισμους λαων και αθετει βουλας αρχοντων | 10 The Lord scatters the counsels of the nations. Moreover, he reproves the thoughts of the people, and he rejects the counsels of the leaders. |
η δε βουλη του κυριου εις τον αιωνα μενει λογισμοι της καρδιας αυτου εις γενεαν και γενεαν | 11 But the counsel of the Lord remains for eternity, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation. |
μακαριον το εθνος ου εστιν κυριος ο θεος αυτου λαος ον εξελεξατο εις κληρονομιαν εαυτω | 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his inheritance. |
εξ ουρανου επεβλεψεν ο κυριος ειδεν παντας τους υιους των ανθρωπων | 13 The Lord has looked down from heaven. He has seen all the sons of men. |
εξ ετοιμου κατοικητηριου αυτου επεβλεψεν επι παντας τους κατοικουντας την γην | 14 From his well-prepared dwelling place, he has gazed upon all who dwell on the earth. |
ο πλασας κατα μονας τας καρδιας αυτων ο συνιεις εις παντα τα εργα αυτων | 15 He has formed the hearts of each one of them; he understands all their works. |
ου σωζεται βασιλευς δια πολλην δυναμιν και γιγας ου σωθησεται εν πληθει ισχυος αυτου | 16 The king is not saved by great power, nor will the giant be saved by his many powers. |
ψευδης ιππος εις σωτηριαν εν δε πληθει δυναμεως αυτου ου σωθησεται | 17 The horse is false safety; for he will not be saved by the abundance of his powers. |
ιδου οι οφθαλμοι κυριου επι τους φοβουμενους αυτον τους ελπιζοντας επι το ελεος αυτου | 18 Behold, the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him and on those who hope in his mercy, |
ρυσασθαι εκ θανατου τας ψυχας αυτων και διαθρεψαι αυτους εν λιμω | 19 so as to rescue their souls from death and to feed them during famine. |
η ψυχη ημων υπομενει τω κυριω οτι βοηθος και υπερασπιστης ημων εστιν | 20 Our soul remains with the Lord. For he is our helper and protector. |
οτι εν αυτω ευφρανθησεται η καρδια ημων και εν τω ονοματι τω αγιω αυτου ηλπισαμεν | 21 For in him, our heart will rejoice, and in his holy name, we have hoped. |
γενοιτο το ελεος σου κυριε εφ' ημας καθαπερ ηλπισαμεν επι σε | 22 Let your mercy be upon us, O Lord, just as we have hoped in you. |
