Psalms 82

1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.	1 Salmo. Di Asaf. Dio si erge nell'assemblea divina, in mezzo agli dèi emana la sua sentenza:
2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.	2 "Fino a quando emanerete sentenze inique, e prenderete le parti degli empi?
3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.	3 Difendete piuttosto il debole e l'orfano, rendete giustizia al misero e al povero.
4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.	4 Liberate il debole e l'indigente, strappatelo alla stretta dell'empio".
5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.	5 Essi non capiscono, non possono intendere; il loro cammino sta nelle tenebre, possano pur vacillare tutte le fondamenta della terra.
6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.	6 Io riflettei: "Siete dèi, tutti figli dell'Altissimo!
7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.	7 Eppure morrete come ogni uomo, come ognuno dei potenti cadrete!".
8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.	8 Sorgi, o Dio, giudica la terra. Sì, l'eredità tu avrai di tutte le genti.
