DOUAI-RHEIMSNEW JERUSALEM
I have cried to the, O Lord, hear me: hearken to my voice, when I cry to thee.1 [Psalm Of David When he was in the cave Prayer] To Yahweh I cry out with my plea. To Yahweh Icry out with entreaty.
Let my prayer be directed as incense in thy sight; the lifting up of my hands, as evening sacrifice.2 I pour out my worry in his presence, in his presence I unfold my troubles.
Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth: and a door round about my lips.3 However faint my spirit; you are watching over my path. On the road I have to travel they havehidden a trap for me.
Incline not my heart to evil words; to make excuses in sins. With men that work iniquity: and I will not communicate with the choicest of them.4 Look on my right and see -- there is no one who recognises me. Al refuge is denied me, no onecares whether I live or die.
The just shall correct me in mercy, and shall reprove me: but let not the oil of the sinner fatten my head. For my prayer also shall still be against the things with which they are well pleased:5 I cry out to you, Yahweh, I affirm, 'You are my refuge, my share in the land of the living!'
their judges falling upon the rock have been swallowed up. They shall hear my words, for they have prevailed:6 Listen to my cal ing, for I am miserably weak. Rescue me from my persecutors, for they are toostrong for me.
as when the thickness of the earth is broken up upon the ground: Our bones are scattered by the side of hell.7 Lead me out of prison that I may praise your name. The upright gather round me because of yourgenerosity to me.
But o to thee, O Lord, Lord, are my eyes: in thee have I put my trust, take not away my soul.
Keep me from the snare, which they have laid for me, and from the stumblingblocks of them that work iniquity.
The wicked shall fall in his net: I am alone until I pass.
