Deuteronomio 33

DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 OR io, fratelli, non ho potuto parlare a voi, come a spirituali, anzi vi ho parlato come a carnali, come a fanciulli in Cristo.	1 And so, brothers, I was not able to talk to you as spiritual people; I had to talk to you as people stilliving by your natural inclinations, stil infants in Christ;
2 Io vi ho dato a bere del latte, e non vi ho dato del cibo, perciocchè voi non potevate ancora portarlo; anzi neppure ora potete, perchè siete carnali.	2 I fed you with milk and not solid food, for you were not yet able to take it -- and even now, you are stilnot able to,
3 Imperocchè, poichè fra voi vi è invidia, e contenzione, e divisioni, non siete voi carnali, e non camminate voi secondo l’uomo?	3 for you are still living by your natural inclinations. As long as there are jealousy and rivalry among you,that surely means that you are stil living by your natural inclinations and by merely human principles.
4 Perciocchè, quando l’uno dice: Quant’è a me, io son di Paolo; e l’altro: Ed io d’Apollo; non siete voi carnali?	4 While there is one that says, 'I belong to Paul' and another that says, 'I belong to Apol os' are you notbeing only too human?
5 Chi è adunque Paolo? e chi è Apollo? se non ministri, per i quali voi avete creduto, e ciò secondo che il Signore ha dato a ciascuno?	5 For what is Apollos and what is Paul? The servants through whom you came to believe, and each hasonly what the Lord has given him.
6 Io ho piantato, Apollo ha adacquato, ma Iddio ha fatto crescere.	6 I did the planting, Apol os did the watering, but God gave growth.
7 Talchè, nè colui che pianta, nè colui che adacqua, non è nulla; ma non vi è altri che Iddio, il quale fa crescere.	7 In this, neither the planter nor the waterer counts for anything; only God, who gives growth.
8 Ora, e colui che pianta, e colui che adacqua, sono una medesima cosa; e ciascuno riceverà il suo proprio premio, secondo la sua fatica.	8 It is al one who does the planting and who does the watering, and each will have the proper pay for thework that he has done.
9 POICHÈ noi siamo operai nell’opera di Dio; voi siete il campo di Dio, l’edificio di Dio.	9 After all, we do share in God's work; you are God's farm, God's building.
10 Io, secondo la grazia di Dio che mi è stata data, come savio architetto, ho posto il fondamento, ed altri edifica sopra; ora ciascun riguardi come egli edifica sopra	10 By the grace of God which was given to me, I laid the foundations like a trained master-builder, andsomeone else is building on them. Now each one must be careful how he does the building.
11 Perciocchè niuno può porre altro fondamento che quello ch’è stato posto, il quale è Gesù Cristo.	11 For nobody can lay down any other foundation than the one which is there already, namely JesusChrist.
12 Ora, se alcuno edifica sopra questo fondamento oro, argento, pietre preziose, ovvero legno, fieno, stoppia,	12 On this foundation, different people may build in gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay or straw
13 l’opera di ciascuno sarà manifestata; perciocchè il giorno la paleserà; poichè ha da esser manifestata per fuoco; e il fuoco farà la prova qual sia l’opera di ciascuno.	13 but each person's handiwork wil be shown for what it is. The Day which dawns in fire will make it clearand the fire itself wil test the quality of each person's work.
14 Se l’opera d’alcuno, la quale egli abbia edificata sopra il fondamento, dimora, egli ne riceverà premio.	14 The one whose work stands up to it wil be given his wages;
15 Se l’opera d’alcuno è arsa, egli farà perdita; ma egli sarà salvato, per modo però, che sarà come per fuoco	15 the one whose work is burnt down wil suffer the loss of it, though he himself will be saved; he wil besaved as someone might expect to be saved from a fire.
16 Non sapete voi che siete il tempio di Dio, e che lo Spirito di Dio abita in voi?	16 Do you not realise that you are a temple of God with the Spirit of God living in you?
17 Se alcuno guasta il tempio di Dio, Iddio guasterà lui; perciocchè il tempio del Signore è santo, il quale siete voi	17 If anybody should destroy the temple of God, God will destroy that person, because God's temple isholy; and you are that temple.
18 Niuno inganni sè stesso; se alcuno fra voi si pensa esser savio in questo secolo, divenga pazzo, acciocchè diventi savio.	18 There is no room for self-delusion. Any one of you who thinks he is wise by worldly standards mustlearn to be a fool in order to be real y wise.
19 Perciocchè la sapienza di questo mondo è pazzia presso Iddio; poichè è scritto: Egli è quel che prende i savi nella loro astuzia.	19 For the wisdom of the world is folly to God. As scripture says: He traps the crafty in the snare of theirown cunning
20 Ed altrove: Il Signore conosce i pensieri de’ savi, e sa che son vani	20 and again: The Lord knows the plans of the wise and how insipid they are.
21 Perciò, niuno si glorii negli uomini, perciocchè ogni cosa è vostra.	21 So there is to be no boasting about human beings: everything belongs to you,
22 E Paolo, ed Apollo, e Cefa, e il mondo, e la vita, e la morte, e le cose presenti, e le cose future; ogni cosa è vostra.	22 whether it is Paul, or Apol os, or Cephas, the world, life or death, the present or the future -- al belongto you;
23 E voi siete di Cristo, e Cristo è di Dio	23 but you belong to Christ and Christ belongs to God.
