1 OR i Capi delle famiglie paterne della nazione de’ figliuoli di Galaad, figliuolo di Machir, figliuol di Manasse, delle nazioni de’ figliuoli di Giuseppe, si fecero innanzi, e parlarono in presenza di Mosè, e de’ principali ch’erano Capi delle famiglie paterne de’ figliuoli d’Israele,	1 The heads of the ancestral houses in the clan of descendants of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh-one of the Josephite clans-came up and laid this plea before Moses and the priest Eleazar and before the princes who were the heads of the ancestral houses of the other Israelites.
2 e dissero: Il Signore ha comandato al mio signore di dare il paese in eredità a’ figliuoli d’Israele, a sorte; e oltr’a ciò, al mio signore è stato comandato dal Signore di dar l’eredità di Selofad, nostro fratello, alle sue figliuole.	2 They said: "The LORD commanded you, my lord, to apportion the land by lot among the Israelites; and you, my lord, were also commanded by the LORD to give the heritage of our kinsman Zelophehad to his daughters.
3 Ora, se elleno si maritano ad alcuno dell’altre tribù de’ figliuoli d’Israele, la loro eredità sarà ricisa dall’eredità de’ nostri padri, e sarà aggiunta all’eredità della tribù di quelli a’ quali si mariteranno; e così sarà diminuito della sorte della nostra eredità.	3 But if they marry into one of the other Israelite tribes, their heritage will be withdrawn from our ancestral heritage and will be added to that of the tribe into which they marry; thus the heritage that fell to us by lot will be diminished.
4 E anche, quando i figliuoli d’Israele avranno il Giubileo, l’eredità di esse sarà aggiunta all’eredità della tribù di quelli a’ quali si mariteranno; e così la loro eredità sarà ricisa dall’eredità della tribù de’ nostri padri	4 When the Israelites celebrate the jubilee year, the heritage of these women will be permanently added to that of the tribe into which they marry and will be withdrawn from that of our ancestral tribe."
5 E Mosè diede comandamento a’ figliuoli d’Israele, secondo la parola del Signore, dicendo: La tribù de’ figliuoli di Giuseppe parla dirittamente.	5 So Moses gave this regulation to the Israelites according to the instructions of the LORD: "The tribe of the Josephites are right in what they say.
6 Quest’è quello che il Signore ha comandato intorno alle figliuole di Selofad, dicendo: Maritinsi a chi aggraderà loro; ma pur maritinsi in alcuna delle nazioni della tribù del padre loro.	6 This is what the LORD commands with regard to the daughters of Zelophehad: They may marry anyone they please, provided they marry into a clan of their ancestral tribe,
7 E non sia trasportata tra’ figliuoli d’Israele, alcuna eredità di tribù in tribù; anzi attengasi ciascuno de’ figliuoli d’Israele all’eredità della tribù de’ suoi padri.	7 so that no heritage of the Israelites will pass from one tribe to another, but all the Israelites will retain their own ancestral heritage.
8 E maritisi ogni fanciulla, che sarà erede, fra le tribù de’ figliuoli d’Israele, a uno della nazione della tribù di suo padre; acciocchè i figliuoli d’Israele posseggano ciascuno l’eredità de’ suoi padri.	8 Therefore, every daughter who inherits property in any of the Israelite tribes shall marry someone belonging to a clan of her own ancestral tribe, in order that all the Israelites may remain in possession of their own ancestral heritage.
9 E non si trasportino le eredità da una tribù all’altra, anzi ciascuna tribù de’ figliuoli d’Israele s’attenga alla sua eredità.	9 Thus, no heritage can pass from one tribe to another, but all the Israelite tribes will retain their own ancestral heritage."
10 Come il Signore avea comandato a Mosè, così fecero le figliuole di Selofad.	10 The daughters of Zelophehad obeyed the command which the LORD had given to Moses.
11 E Mala, e Tirsa, ed Hogla, e Milca, e Noa, figliuole di Selofad, si maritarono co’ figliuoli de’ loro zii.	11 Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah and Noah, Zelophehad's daughters, married relatives on their father's side
12 Così furono maritate a mariti ch’erano delle nazioni de’ figliuoli di Manasse, figliuolo di Giuseppe; e la loro eredità restò nella tribù della nazione del padre loro.	12 within the clans of the descendants of Manasseh, son of Joseph; hence their heritage remained in the tribe of their father's clan.
13 Questi sono i comandamenti e le leggi, le quali il Signore diede a’ figliuoli d’Israele, per man di Mosè, nelle campagne di Moab, presso al Giordano di Gerico	13 These are the commandments and decisions which the LORD prescribed for the Israelites through Moses, on the plains of Moab beside the Jericho stretch of the Jordan.
