Osea 8

DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 METTITI una tromba al palato. Colui viene contro alla Casa del Signore, come un’aquila; perciocchè han trasgredito il mio patto, ed han misfatto contro alla mia Legge.	1 Put the trumpet to your lips! Like an eagle, disaster is swooping on Yahweh's home! Because they haveviolated my covenant and been unfaithful to my Law,
2 Israele griderà a me: Tu sei l’Iddio mio, noi ti abbiam conosciuto.	2 in vain wil they cry, 'My God!' In vain, 'We, Israel, know you!'
3 Israele ha allontanato da sè il bene; il nemico lo perseguirà.	3 Israel has rejected the good, the enemy will pursue them.
4 Hanno costituiti dei re, non da parte mia; e creati de’ principi senza mia saputa; si hanno, del loro argento, e del loro oro, fatti degl’idoli; acciocchè sieno sterminati.	4 They have set up kings, but without my consent, and appointed princes, but without my knowledge.With their silver and gold, they have made themselves idols, but only to be destroyed.
5 O Samaria, il tuo vitello ti ha scacciata: la mia ira è accesa contro a loro; fino a quando non potranno esser nettati?	5 I spurn your calf, Samaria! My anger blazes against them! How long wil it be before they recover theirinnocence?
6 Certo quel vitello è anch’esso d’Israele; un fabbro l’ha fatto, e non è Dio; il vitello di Samaria sarà ridotto in scintille.	6 For it is the product of Israel- a craftsman made the thing, it is no god at al ! The calf of Samaria wil bebroken to pieces!
7 Perciocchè han seminato del vento, mieteranno un turbo, non avranno biade; i germogli non faranno farina; se pur ne faranno, gli stranieri la trangugeranno	7 Since they sow the wind, they will reap the whirlwind; stalk without ear, it wil never yield flour- or if itdoes, foreigners will swallow it.
8 Israele è divorato; ora sono fra le nazioni, come un vaso di cui non si fa alcuna stima.	8 Israel has himself been swal owed; now they are lost among the nations like something no one wants,
9 Perciocchè essi sono saliti ad Assur, che è un asino salvatico, che se ne sta in disparte da per sè; Efraim ha dati presenti ad amanti.	9 for having made approaches to Assyria- like a wild donkey, al alone. Ephraim has rented lovers
10 Ora altresì, perciocchè han dati presenti ad amanti fra le genti, io radunerò quegli amanti: e fra poco si dorranno per la gravezza del re de’ principi.	10 and because he has rented them from the nations I am now going to round them up; soon they wilfeel the weight of the king of princes!
11 Perciocchè Efraim ha moltiplicati gli altari per peccare, egli ha avuti altari da peccare.	11 Ephraim keeps building altars for his sins, these very altars are themselves a sin.
12 Io gli avea scritte le cose grandi della mia Legge; ma sono state reputate come cosa strana.	12 However much of my Law I write for him, Ephraim regards it as alien to him.
13 Quant’è a’ sacrificii delle mie offerte, sacrificano della carne, e la mangiano; il Signore non li gradisce; ora si ricorderà egli della loro iniquità, e farà punizione de’ lor peccati; essi ritorneranno in Egitto.	13 They offer sacrifices to me and eat the meat, they do not win Yahweh's favour. On the contrary, he wilremember their guilt and punish their sins; they wil have to go back to Egypt.
14 Or Israele ha dimenticato il suo Fattore, e ha edificati de’ tempii, e Giuda ha fatte molte città forti; ma io manderò fuoco nelle città dell’uno, ed esso consumerà i tempii dell’altro	14 Israel has forgotten his Maker and has built palaces, while Judah keeps on building fortified towns; butI shal send fire down on his cities to devour their citadels.
